Biggest waste of money ever. Difficult to connect to devices and network, firmware defective and then totally died after 18 months.

We have had 2 of these printers and they both broke before the warranty was out.

I always by HP - for years I have never swayed but this machune was junk. Very very slow. I was told it was duplex printing and it wasn’t . I returned it the same day

If you want pink stripes on your page, buy this printer!!!!

Was purchased but i returned because not works, tried to print but the printer will jam the paper, i changed for another brand

This one. I made a huge mistake buying this. Nowhere does it indicate this printer does not do double sided printing.

this is not a good one over Price unit need to not print using it cost to much for ink

Looks professional but it is slow, print just on one side, very noisy even when it does not work

Slow to print and no automatic double side printing. For the price, not enough functions to make it worth it.

I bought this to replace a similar 6 year old HP printer that was having software/firware update issues. I was excited to have wifi printing abilities but that also seems to the major downfall of this printer. 1. If you use wifi printing, you CANNOT use a USB or Ethernet cable. Once any print cable is plugged in it automatically turns off the wifi feature. Which means you can't hardwire to the home computer and print wifi from your laptop or ipad. 2. The printer also goes to sleep and turns off automatically. There is NO override on this. The maximum is sleep/1hour or off/8 hours. This totally defeats the purpose of a wifi printer. Telling something to print does not automatically wake up the devise, you must physically go to the machine and turn it back on. 3. IP address issues with wifi. Every time the printer restarts it has a new IP address, so your computer will keep telling you device or drivers found. You have to go into your router settings and tell it to use a static ip address for this device. I was able to do this after a little research on my specific router, but not everyone is comfortable making those changes without some sort of technical support. On a positive note the print quality is great. I would only recommend if you don't care about wifi printing from ipads/phones/tables/etc... Disappointed in HP considering the price and the lack of override options. Just like our computers, we should have the sleep/power options of NEVER doing those things automatically.

I bought this printer to replace an old inkjet. Works great. Printing is clear and sharp, and quick. In a earlier review it gives three flaws. First, you can connect to the usb on the computer, and use the wifi for your phone or tablet. I have done this with my old printer, and have done it with this printer. This is not a flaw it works. The printer shutting down after 8 hours of in activity is a energy saving feature, not a flaw. The IP adress is set by the router not the printer, anything you connect to the network will get a different IP address every to you connect, this is a security feature on the router, not a flaw in the printer. If you follow the instructions the printer will work great. The reason I give it 4 stars is because I have not tested the other functions (scan, copy) yet. Yes I would recommend this printer.

I just bought the M477fnw Color All-in-one Printer. This was to replace a horrible Okidata MC361 that kept breaking down. One of the reasons that I bought this unit was for the duplexing. While this printer was VERY easy to setup and configure, pretty much just plug-n-play, when I went to duplex print I found out that it was MANUAL duplex and not AUTO. You have to spend $100 + to get that feature and then move to the "fdw' model. There was nothing from the specs online that said it was 'Manual". You pull down the specs from BestBuy and it says, "Double-Sided Printing Yes." Doesn't say squat about it being MANUAL. I was tempted to box it back up and take it back, but spouse convinced me to keep it. Would I recommend this device, so-so. Easy to setup, fast printing, yes. LOUSY for the manual duplex (in this day and age)
