Have only had this for a short period of time, but it works great, was easy to set up, and easy to use other features (fax, scan, copy). Great print quality and very fast.

    Terrific College Printer

This is perfect for the college student that prints a lot and constantly I have had this printer for about a year now and haven't had any issues(mechanically) and have not had to replace the toner either. I do suggest that you purchase the HP Laser Printer paper, 1. Because it really does feel better and leaves far less paper dust in the printer, 2. The print on the paper looks more professional. The ONLY CON is that the printer is like 70lbs, very heavy.

My unit arrived today, on time via UPS. Installed it using my router, usb to my office computer, hooked up FAX (for those rare ones) and tested all functions. I’m running Windows 10 on office unit, iPhone, ipad, no problems. Wish it would duplex, but didn’t want to spend extra $$$ for the model that has it. Output moves right along and I like the upper feed for unusual sizes like envelopes etc. I’m happy with the purchase.

Excellent printer. Fast and reliable. Cartridges are easy to change and so is movement to wifi or ethernet cord. I highly recommend this printer. HP should use this printer as a standard for future printers. Best part is the energy efficiency does not take this printer dark like a lot of other HP machines in an enterprise. This is the real printer!

Had no problems with setup or connectivity with my wireless network. Took less than 15 minutes to unpack, remove tape, add paper, plug in power cord, add my network, print page from iPad Pro. Printed on 24lb hammermill laser paper and the quality is excellent. Also, took less than 10 minutes to setup my printer on the web. Awesome product and hp did not disappoint me.

    Outstanding All-In-One Machine

Especially at the price I paid at Best Buy. This printer took me about 10 minutes to get up and running on my network. The printing is clear and sharp, all functions worked properly on the first try, the scanning interface is straightforward and intuitive, and the scanning itself is very fast. The included software installed without a hitch on my Win10 Pro (64-bit) computer. The rest of the computers on the network can just use the PCL6 driver. Copying and faxing work just fine from the software or from the printer's touch screen. About the only thing I didn't test was photo printing. I rarely print photos, but I find that photos are the one thing that inkjets are better for. I wouldn't expect superb photo printing from this or any other laser printer. But like I said, I haven't tried it yet. All in all, I can't think of a thing I don't like about this printer. I highly recommend it. Richard

    Prints and scans crooked!

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Well, Let me first say that I am not some computer and tech Luddite that can't work a piece of technology. I am very familiar with components, etc. etc. This printer is junk. I really hate to say, because i researched it, bought one and had full confidence in the company and the product. My first inclination that something was wrong was when I made a scan and it was crooked. I made another. Same thing. I then did some google searches, as one might. I learned that some seem to have had alleged success with entering an intentionally hidden secondary menu and calibrating the scanner. I tried that, no luck. I called HP's tech support. They informed me that this machine has a 1mm printing variance for "crooked" variance and a 1mm to 3mm variance for scanning. Therefore, if you print a document that you later intend to scan (like a doctors appointment sheet or something else), you may well have, within variance, an up to 4mm crooked document. I indeed did. After much testing with the tech, he agreed to send out a tech to look at the printer and replace the scanning bar. There was little to no improvement. So I headed back over to Best Buy (where I purchased it) and exchanged it for a Cannon. PROS: Fast printing, relatively quiet, great software CONS: Very unprofessional printing and scanning, text is not very crisp (definitely not near as much as I expected an HP to be, especially for being dubbed a "business" printer). ALL IN ALL: Don't bother with this machine. Their on-site tech said they have a ton of issues with the automatic document feeder because the roller bar is too small and the scanner bar is of very low quality.

    Great printer and price

We bought this for home use and it's awesome, so far. We made the jump to laser after coming to the conclusion that we spent far too much on ink, not that we printed too much, but too little. We print very infrequently, which doesn't work well with inkjet printers since that ink will dry up whether you use it or not. That being said toner seems the optimum solution... We'll see if that's the case when we need to print again in a few months.

    Macbook Pro Owners BEWARE!!!!!

I own a Macbook Pro, and this printer is absolutely the WORST!!!!! It prints great. However, sometimes it takes half an hour to print anything over ten pages. It has glitches that are not improved by HP. Their high tech answer is turn it off and pull the power plug out of the wall and wait five minutes. DO NOT BUY THIS PRINTER. You will be sorry.........

Hello, thank you for taking the time to submit a review, I appreciate your feedback and I am sorry for all the inconvenience caused. A User Intervention Required message displays on the computer, and the printer does not print. The issue might be caused by a printer error condition, corrupted print jobs, or a weak printer wireless connection. Setting up the manual IP address connection is a more direct method of communicating to the printer. Remember HP Support is always there to fix all your issues. Nice multifunction device

Overall very good, fairly cheap cost per page, scan to email works great. The only real ding I have on the unit as with all units at this price point is the cheap feeling the units give from case flex...it's sturdy around the print assembly but the ADF assembly, toner setup, and print tray areas had some durability corners cut to trim on unit costs.

    Giant Paper Weight

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Wow, after my brother color MFP software went bad, I thought I would try HP. What a bad decision that was to go with the giant paper weight. First, you get the printer home and it acts like it will work great. You download all the software online and it prints great and hooks up to the WIFI like it should. After that setting up the scanner via a network folder (Which is like assembling IKEA furniture in the dark) it will work for a short time. But hold on, then you update your computer and everything gets lost. No longer will it scan to the folder and is now unable to connect even when the test passes online for the network folder. Overall, I would not recommend this product to anyone who owns a computer worth it weight (Apple). I just bought a paper weight when it comes to a scanner.

    No Duplex Printing

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Every aspect of this printer seems great EXCEPT there is no automatic duplex printing (despite the printer NOT being filtered out on the Best Buy website when I selected "Double-Sided Printing). Apparently I did not do enough homework on this before pulling the trigger, but am returning it now that I found out it does not print double-sided automatically. If you want duplexing, purchase the MFP m477fdw model.

    Headache!

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Ok, so I wanted to upgrade my small HP 4650 Series because it's been over 3 years with this printer and something is going on with the scanner feeder to where it catches too many papers at once or it jams while trying to feed the documents. I mainly scan papers smaller than 8.5x11 as they are tickets from loads that our business receives on the daily basis. I thought the price range, scanning capabilities, paper output, ink usage and warranty would make up for the oohs and aahs of this all in one printer...well no! As soon as I installed it I saw that the printer did not have a feature for "scan to computer" as it has wireless capabilities, that was not available. Ok, so I decided to try to set up a shared folder so that my documents can be scanned to my network folder, I had issues for 2 days trying to set up the network folder step by step with assisting you tube videos and still was not successful. I tried to chat with the HP online help but had no success. Yes, I set up this printer to the wireless network, yes my computer was online, yes I met all the requirements for my OS, yes I can follow directions, but if this crap is not going to work the first few days that I've had it, I'm going to return it! Another issue, I finally found a way to scan documents to my computer and that was by using the HP scanner app on my Mac, ok I had seen it's functions before, but never thought that I had to deal with the manual labor of scanning documents to my laptop. First, it only scanned a few pages then gave me an error that there was a lost communication with the printer, second it said that there was a document stuck in the feeder and to remove it...fine, I took out the paper that was in the middle of being scanned and it said that there was a paper jam to lift up the feeder and so on. Ok, no paper stuck and no trash found as this was BRAND NEW! This printer may be worth it if you do not use the scanner function or just scan one paper through the lift option of the scanner, not the feeder. OMG, $319 with a 2 year warranty is not enough for me to keep fiddling with it as I needed a printer since 2 weeks ago, I'll just plug in my older printer and deal with it for tonight. I'll be returning this and searching for maybe just a stand alone scanner.

Does not work with Windows 10

This is a great printer but it does not work with Windows 10. It works great with my MAC but after over 8 hours with HP support I have not been able to get it to work with Windows 10. Was told that HP is having a lot of issues with Windows 10. My boss and I both purchased this printer to use with our new Window 10 laptops and both experiencing the same problems. HP has told me that they are having issues with their software working with Windows 10. Since Windows 10 has been out for over a year it does not look like HP is trying to resolve the issue. If you are using Windows 10, I highly recommend purchasing another printer.

If you have Windows 10, don't buy this printer. Spent 2.5 hours trying to get it to install, called HP Support and the tech support guy admitted it their standard setup won't work with Win 10 and I need to install a separate scan program and some universal drivers. Did that and printer still is not recognized. HP must have taken a stop backwards again. Returning this printer and another HP printer I bought.

I HATE this printer- It will not stay on the network to save my butt- I have re-installed it numerous times- I can use it one minute and it's fine, 2 minutes later, it won't connect- not to mention that for scanning.......you cannot use the feeder tray, you have to scan one at a time. Half the time I cannot get the fax to work either- now it prints well and fast, when it works------I'm not a newbie
