Horrible phone support
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am a life time HP fan...never owned anything but HP. Never had one problem -- I even have one HP printer over 10 years. LOVE HP (until now). This printer (P1102W) is bad. There are vertical ink streaks on all printed pages. I understands issues may pop up and maybe my product was defective. So, I called the HP 888 phone number. The phone support is horrible. I was literally on hold for 60+ minutes only to be spoken to in an accusative manner and, honestly, rudely. It was confirmed that my product was defective and was placed on hold AGAIN for 60 minutes...... who has time for a 2 hour phone call??? When it comes down to it, is a $90 printer worth your time and aggravation?? NO!!! I'd rather have 2 hours than $90. Result -- printer in the trash (too late to return) and problem solved. Never to buy HP again.... and I'm not happy about that, I'd disappointed.

Excellent printer for everyday printing
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Excellent printer for everyday printing. Cheaper than our inkjet for printing documents that don't require color. The "introductory" toner cartridge lasted through over 800 pages. I expect the replacement, full cartridge to last through at least twice this number of pages. Also has the reputation of dependability and reliability of a long line HP laser printers to back it up. No buyers remorse here.

I never could get the WiFi working
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. When hooked up to my computer through USB it printed well. I never was able to switch it over to WiFi which made it useless for the number computers in our home. Another down side is the open paper tray. HP's only tech support costs $60 for a one time set up so I took it back to Best Buy and got my money back.

Wireless is inconsistent
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This printer replaced an ink jet we had. When connected to a desktop PC via USB it works great. It is very reliable, print quality is good and is reasonably fast. Unfortunately the wireless functionality is terrible. We purchased this printer primarily for the wireless feature and we find that the wireless signal drops often; usually when we need it the most.

Didn't meet expectations
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Although it was a little bit more expensive than the others, I liked this printer first. I used to have windows 7. the printer worked perfect until I installed windows 8. Now I can print only via USB port. Whatever I did, reinstalled it a few times, my computer doesn't see the printer wirelessly. HP website couldn't help me. Wouldn't recommend this printer to my friend.

Best Printer in a long time!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I didnt know I needed a new printer until I walked into the printer section. A employee was kind enough to let me know about the toner rather than ink that would last longer and i was sold!

Taking it back
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I couldn't get mine to install either wireless or with USB. Got to a point where the install prog said to plug in the USB cable and it would stop. I tried multiple times but still wouldn't install. I even waited about 20 minutes and still it wouldn't get past that point. My printer is going back tomorrow.

NOT supported in WINDOWS 10
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.BEWARE. Do NOT buy for Windows 10 computers. Check the HP support site, and you will see that there are no drivers available for Windows 10. The original drivers will not work. My HP computer will not acknowledge my HP printer, and this does not work at all.

Inferior Product
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am not a novice with anything technical. I have owned all kinds of computers and printers. I am disgusted with how inferior HP products are to include the HP P1102W. I broke down and bought an HP Lap top and printer trying to save a few dollars - my bad!!! I should have stayed with Sony. These pieces of garbage won't even sink up wirelessly even after doing all the updating, tweaking etc. I will NEVER spend money on HP again. Buy HP at your own risk.

HP Has To Do Better
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this printer and was elated at the opportunity to use this printer wireless via my various iOS devices. I followed the very poor instructions to hook it up to my Macbook. I couldn't get it to work. I have a brand new HP Folio laptop that I use for work. I could not get it to work. I eventually went online and found that there was a recommended "full" installation package that's supposed get it to install. That didn't work. I took it to Geek Squad. They couldn't get it to install on my laptop, two of their PC's and an iMac they had there in the store. The software install simply WOULD NOT WORK! I contacted HP directly and I spoke with an agent that told me they are aware of an issue with the P1102w and that there was no eta for a fix. This is simply unacceptable. Stay away from this printer! Google search HP P1102w and read the many, many blogs and posting rants about this printer.

Weak wireless installation, software interface wea
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Got tired of constantly buying cartridges for my Brother dcp385 so bought this because the reviews were good. Guess again, HP isn't in touch with 2014 in terms of the fit-and-finish of the printer and the wireless installation and software interfaces. Initial wireless installation did not work - it prompted for the SSID but never prompted for the key. This seemed strange but I attempted to print but this didn't work. Then I pulled up the HP Eprint "application" on my Windows machine, which it had installed upon plugging the printer directly into my laptop's USB port. I found the wireless panel and noticed it had something in the key field, I entered the key. Eventually queued printing jobs started printing. I'm a software engineer and I found this perplexing - I'd recommend against this printer unless you have some really good reason to purchase it. HP is just out of step with usability expectations in 2014 - they seem to be stuck in 1998.

Can't set up, probably broken
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I tried to set this up using my Imac, my surface pro 3, and my windows 8 laptop. None of them would work, I guess this printer was broken out of the box, I don't know why I bought another HP product, I have never been happy with them, and this will be the last one, taking this one back for a Canon.

misinformation
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The specifications on the website clearly state there is wired Ethernet capability but, after un-boxing, there is only wireless. Wasted time and effort. Will return. Will not buy from Bestbuy again.
