You have to put your hand in blind, the unit does not open fully. That aside, the unit kept going offline and disappearing from my computer. After the third or fourth time of reloading I gave up and returned it for a better model. There was a reason it was so inexpensive. You do get what you pay for!

Had I known I would have chosen another so I hardly use it now. If a monthly subscription doesnt bother you then its fine but I wouldn't recommend it.

I’m sorry to hear that you’re unsatisfied with the purchase of your printer. I can understand why learning about a subscription you had not expected would be quite unsettling, so I’ll offer some information I hope will help.
I can’t be sure, but I suspect the subscription you mention refers to our Instant Ink program. Instant Ink is a printing plan, not a cartridge purchasing service. You choose a plan based on the number of pages you would like to print monthly. You are billed monthly at the end of each cycle. Replacement cartridges are shipped as needed based on usage, not by the month. Instant Ink cartridges contain much more ink than cartridges you could buy at a retailer, so they last much longer.
That said, Instant Ink is not required for you to use your printer. If you are enrolled, you can opt out. To learn more, I recommend that you contact our Instant Ink program via virtual or phone agent so we can help you assess and resolve the situation. To reach a phone agent, call 1-855-785-2777.
