Nothing But Issues
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am sure this printer is great if you can get it to work. We have the correct operating systems, etc., and have had nothing but trouble from the install to the actual printing. The install goes in circles and won't install the printer correctly on any of our devices. I spent almost 2.5 hours with HP tech support and they were at a loss, which was frustrating! We also cannot choose color options, so everything prints in only black and white, though sometimes things print in color, there is no rhyme or reason. I am planning to return this for something simpler.

Reset everyday to print with Wifi.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Replaced HP 3050 on advice of HP customer support because it wouldn't connect with Wifi. He said my printer was obsolete (4 years old) and was not compatible with windows 10. This one seemed good at first, but we don't print very often. It wasn't long before I realized it has the same issues? Contacted customer support 4 times. 3 times they took control of my laptop and adjusted settings. One time the tech told me there were issues with my Technicolor router with all wireless printers and I should call Spectrum to get a new one. Luckily, Spectrum did not charge for the replacement, but even after they remotely adjusted this one, it still lost wireless capability after any long gaps in printing. Turn it off and back on again and your queue will print!. Tried to call one more time and I was on hold for over an hour before they told me that they couldn't take my call at this time, "Please call again later." I'm bringing it back right now.

If you have successfully connected your printer to a wireless network, but the connection drops, to resolve the issue, go to HP Printers – Wireless Troubleshooting from this document: http://bit.ly/2xkXHMu HP printers generally have a 1-year warranty from their purchase date, you can verify the warranty using the following link: http://bit.ly/2mP3Xrb You can also contact HP Support in case you need further assistance: http://hp.care/2nbNQFi

Driver is horrible and stops working all the time.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The driver for this printer is horrible. It stops working all the time. They issued a PrintDoctor that did not work half the time either. Finally they went to HP Smart, which still does not work half the time. It constantly drops the connection and you have to pull the plug. Life is too short. This thing is wasting hours of my time each day. Hire some decent programmers and fix the driver.

Good printer
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Unfortunately, the only WAY you can print with this hp officejet 3830, is if you have HP instant ink subscription. I've tried printing without any HP instant ink subscription, I've also tried to print using just bluetooth, and it ONLY works with an HP subscription. I found this out the HARD way, by getting their subscription. It may only cost $3.25 a month, but when you only print about 5 times a month, it's REALLY NOT worth it.

Ink Quality is poor
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After Printing a document I tried reading and yellow hi-lighting some significant text. The ink just smeared under the hi-lighter. The hi-lighted text was still readable, but smeared. The printer seems to be very nice otherwise and maybe this is expected of a $100 printer. It surprised me. The quality of the printed document was very acceptable, until I tried hi-lighting some text.

Gulps Ink - Replacement Ink requires a Bank Loan
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am done with HP Printers. The works just fine but, it gulps ink. Replacement ink cost $55 to $75 and on average, I was buying 3+ replacement a year. After 2 1/2 years, I said enough. Switched to a different printer and I am saving 75% on new ink! Come on HP, you know you can do better!

Worst HP printer of all time
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this printer as a backup to my envy 4520 incase it stopped working..my envy still works 100% better than this piece @@ it was not supported by hp driver when I set up so had to find other driver support! finally working for about 2 weeks and suddenly no color printing option! only prints from my laptops in black and white. tried ALL the supposed solutions nothing worked even had an error when trying to print that froze my laptops!!! on top of that I had signed up for the print program and they sent me the wrong cartridges. Had to call to let them know! worst printer ever! it obviously has inherent defects that HP does not support! Its going in the trash heap! I have spent hours of wasted time on this printer! NO More!

Very slow in all functions!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this for our small business. I thought the bonus for mr would be the ability to print pictures as well. But from first document I knew that wouldn't happen. It's ok if you're not in a rush, print 1 or 2 (mainly b&w) docs which are 1 sided, or scan text documents. Color grainy, I could never get a fully colored picture or logo

Bad Printer
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I really needed a printer that had automatic dual-sided printing. This printer claims to have automatic dual-sided printing, however, it's all manual. This means every time, you must flip the page over instead of the printer doing it for you. This is an extreme hassle. However, that's not even the worst part. The worst part of this printer is that it WOULDN'T PRINT IN COLOR! It literally would only print in Monochrome, and when I tried to change the preferences to color, it wouldn't allow me to. It just automatically changed to monochrome. I bought this printer hoping to have a decent printer for my daughter's birthday invitations, but, I was extremely, extremely disappointed. The installation also was not easy. I am very sad to have to take this printer back, delaying the printing of my daughter's birthday invitations. I will never trust another HP printer.

Did you try turning it off and on again?
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall, this printer is pretty decent. The main problem, however, is that it never seems to remain active and able to accept print jobs. I constantly have to turn the printer on and off completely in order for it to begin printing the queued jobs. Sometimes it takes 4 or 5 times before it starts printing. Not good at all when you are in a hurry!

Annoyed
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased this printer today for work. I read the specs online. Double checked in the store only to find out at home that this printer DOES NOT print Double sided automatically. You have to manually flip the pages. I don't understand why they advertised it as a double sided printer if it's not done so automatically. Super annoyed. Totally being returned.

Absolutely Worthless. AVOID HP PRINTERS
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my THIRD let me say that again my THIRD HP PRINTER! I am not usually one to write reviews but they have been so ungodly worthless it would be unfair for me to allow anyone to make the same mistake if I can help it. All 3 of my HP Printers have quit working within the first couple prints and tech support is equally as worthless. I have tried every step to fix the issues it claims to have and it still does not fix the problem. My printer is the equivalent of a fancy paperweight at this point. Save yourself the heartache and don't shop HP!

Perfect printer! (If you don't need to print)
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you do not plan on printing a single page and just want something to take up excessive amounts of space on your desk, then look no further, this is the perfect product for you! Having this printer is just a series of errors and paper jams. When it does decide to print, it takes at least one minute to print a page of a word document.

IS NOT AUTOMATIC DOUBLE SIDED PRINTER
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm in nursing school, and constantly printing off A LOT of school materials. The only reason I bought this printer was because it clearly states it is an Automatic double-sided printer. However, you have to MANUALLY take out every single paper that you want double sided, place back in the paper tray, and hit print again. Quite frankly, ain't nobody got time for that. Definitely returning, very disappointed in the misleading information. Wasted my time.

i finally took a sledge hammer to it
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I printed maybe TWICE before this pile of idiocy started in on the error parade. Error after error. Printer cartridge is not installed correctly (yes, for the five hundredth f'ing time, it IS!)...then 'incompatible print cartridge' (brand new and just purchased (for a fortune, of course) from HP.) After stupidly digging into their tedious, generic, worthless support pages, and having 'hard reset' the crap heap at least a dozen times in six months, i finally figured out how to stop the errors myself. My 3830 is now in about 1000 pieces at the bottom of a dumpster. Down with HP!!

Worse printer for 21st century
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'd purchased this printer after seeing the positive reviews on the site. However, it's the WORSE printer I'd ever purchased. It ran out of ink very soon after printing around 40 pages. This printer will NOT help you save money on ink. This printer does NOT automatically print double side. You have to do it manually. The way this printer was designed is NOT user friendly. It WON'T let you load in over 100 pages of paper. You will have to continually load the printer with paper. It gets ANNOYING. Worse of all, this printer keep jamming the papers. It's a waste of money. I wouldn't recommend this printer.
