Awful printer no matter how cheap it is.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.DO NOT BUY THIS PRINTER! I have never had more connectivity issues in my life. You have to restart it every time you want to print and even that only works half the time. I have never successfully printed something on my first try. Always get a "can't communicate with printer" alert. Save yourself the stress and buy something else. Anything else!

Buyer Beware !!!!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought the HP OfficeJet 3830 in November and have found that it hasn't worked right from the beginning. It has trouble feeding the paper for copies, the sensor in the machine doesn't let me change the settings, refuses to make copies from the top feed and the carriage inside the machine gets hung up when I try to put paper in the machine. This is the worse printer I've ever used. All I can say, is Buyer Beware. If you enjoy being frustrated and aggravated and unable to make copies from a printer, then by all means go ahead and buy this piece of junk!!!

DOES NOT WORK
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Sure, set up was wonderfully easy. It took all of 5 minutes to get it to print the page that says the set up is complete. But after that, NOTHING. I have been up for two hours trying to get this thing to print out my lectures, and NOTHING. I AM SO ANNOYED I COULD SMASH IT WITH A HAMMER. Also, the USB connection cable was missing in the box, I had to borrow my roommates. I AM RETURNING THIS STUPID MACHINE TOMORROW.

The printer has issues and the ink service stinks.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I only print occasionally. The printer shuts off shortly after my use and I have to unplug it and plug it back in every time I want to use it. I signed up for the HP service that, for a monthly fee, monitors my Ink cartridges. It turned out not to be a good value, so I canceled it. The next time that I tried to use it I got an error message that the printer would no longer work with the cartridges I bought through the service. I’ve been an HP customer since 1975. No more.

This printer is horrible
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I can’t believe 4000 people gave this printer 5 stars! I’ve owned so many printers over the years and this one has been the worst! I use it for a scanner only because nothing else works right. Forget about printing. Constantly having issues. Yes I know you get what you pay for but don’t waste the money. Spend the extra $20 for something better.

When it runs a test paper it prints in comor. The print preview shows the images in color but prints in grayscale. Getting a new printer. This one is a joke.

Printer is junk
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.HP 3830 is the worst printer I've ever had and I'm 58 years old. Prints in black but not in color. Doesn't wont to scan says the printer is busy. Buy any other printer but this one.

Very upset. Should read Manual Duplex printing
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this for the duplex printing. After spending a whole sunday afternoon on the phone with support, I found out it is only manual duplex. The description should read so. That is on the verge of deceptive.

quite possibly the WORST printer ever
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It literally only works when it wants to and it's so SLOW. It will literally randomly print something I was desperately trying to print 3 days ago.

Posted .Hi there.
I’m sorry to hear that your printer will not turn on like it should. It’s easy to understand why that would be a jarring surprise, especially after having the printer only six months, so I’ll offer some resources and provide some information I hope will help.
First, I recommend going through the steps in this troubleshooting guide for printers that do not turn on:
- support.hp.com/us-en/document/c01321436
If the problem persists, I suggest that you contact us directly at +1 800-474-6836 so we can help you assess the situation and guide you through any applicable troubleshooting. (Please note that because of restrictions on personal movement and workplace attendance associated with the COVID-19 pandemic, wait times for agents are longer than normal. Thanks in advance for your understanding.) To expedite the process, I recommend gathering the following information before the call:
- Model number
- Serial number
- Your location
- Case number (from any previous contact with HP support)
I'll also mention that HP printers have a one-year warranty from their purchase date that covers hardware as well as ink supplies, so if it comes to that, you might consider making use of it. You can verify the warranty using the following link: support.hp.com/us-en/checkwarranty
