    Poor WiFi Connectivity

    Posted .

This printer will not stay connected to any wifi device in our home. Replaced our old router with a newer model, still no connection after the printer or wifi device goes into sleep mode or is powered down. Apple and HP are pointing fingers at each other saying it is the other's fault. DO NOT BUY THIS PRINTER!

Sucks down ink like a drunken sailor drinks- fast!

Ink cartridge life is horrible. I estimate 50-75 pages between ink cartridges, even the so-called XL extra ink cartridge maybe does 100 pages. Yes, print quality set to use as little ink as possible, which gives the added bonus of unreadable text. It hooked up flawlessly, the internet link works perfect, functions perfectly. It just sucks down a lot of ink in an unacceptably short period of routine use. And the ink for this printer not cheap. The positive reviews are true in that the unit is easy to set up, but it all falls apart after a month of use.

Hi Harry, thank you for your feedback, sorry to hear you are unhappy with the Page yield of your HP OfficeJet 4650 All-in-One Printer. Historically printer manufacturers used their own methods for estimating page yield. However, this made it difficult to compare different products. Nowadays, the published page yield is based on the Industry Standard for measuring yields (refer to International Standards Organization ISO 24711). The actual yield varies considerably based on the content of the printed pages, the frequency of printing, the ink used in set-up etc. You may find that you will get more pages when printing in Fastdraftmode. XL size cartridges offer up to 50% lower cost per page compared with standard size cartridges. Our recommendation would be that you leave your printer powered on in normal usage conditions, only power it down if you will not use it for an extended period of time (ie: longer than one month). Returning Tomorrow

I have had this printer for a little over a week and finally opened the box to use it today. The wireless on this printer sucks terribly. After about 3 minutes, I have to turn off the printer and turn back on if I want to print another page. I had to print off maybe 8 pages and finally got done after spending 2 hours including setup and printing the 8 pages. I would not recommend this printer and I am taking back tomorrow to get a different one.

Bought this product on the Beg A. should have gone to Best Buy. I got to the set up stage where one contacted HP.....got a message that this is no longer supported by HP. So have learned that I need to double check on the printer support on the web before buying a printer this year. got this to replace the Canon that was no longer supported. Will now return to BB to buy a printer that actually works since it will be a lot easier to return the product.

    Trouble printer

I bought 2 printers this fall. One for me and one for my mom, the one my mom got works just fine. The one that I bought for me didn't even want to connect to the internet so we went to the store and exchange it. Then the second one I had, it connected to the internet, I set it up and all, but the ink doesn't work. The machine said that there was something wrong with the cartridge, so I changed it, but it still appear as an error. This printer is claimed to be a really good one, but honestly it is just trouble and I haven't been able to print anything at home since I bought them.

    Prints well, Wireless works

While it prints well it runs out of ink very fast. Maybe 200 pages and you need new ink. I asked about this when I bought the machine and was lied to. I did not want to be constantly buying new ink every 2 months.

      Hi,

While I'm glad that you like the printing and your wireless works, it is upsetting that you aren't pleased with the page yield.

If you are using draft mode and the setting that prints in black only and are still using too much ink, you might consider subscribing to Instant Ink. Many people love the fact that they only pay for pages printed, not for the cartridges themselves. More information can be found at: hpinstantink.com

    Stopped working after 3 months

After 3 months of minimal usage, the printer stopped recognizing the printer cartridges. Even after replacing them, I got an error message to install new cartridges. Also, after about 90 seconds, it disconnected from network. Whenever I wanted to print something, I had to turn the printer off then on again so it would connect to the network. After 90 seconds, it disconnected again. After doing some research, turns out A LOT of people having the same issues, even after installing updated drivers and software. Never buying HP again. I'm going back to using Epson.

    Horrible Printer

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

This printer is ridiculously difficult to set up and use. It kept going offline and every time I wanted to print something I had to mess around trying to get it to "talk" to my computer. Multiple talks with their tech support did nothing. Printer is going back and Epson is going to have to be happening. Had an HP envy and same issues. No more HP. Also, the print quality was poor, lackluster colors and fuzzy printout. Don't waste your money

...then I had to uninstall and reinstall the printer every other day to get it to communicate with my laptop. Then it stopped printing in color. Now it won't communicate with the laptop at all. I don't know why I ever decided to give HP another chance. All of their products are pure garbage.

I just setup this printer and every time I attempt to do anything with this printer I have to turn it off and on. It even says it in the instructions like its ok to turn off and on a device to make it work. What is this?!?? Don't buy it unless you are going to hardwire it in.
