    Don't buy this model!!

I just got off the phone with HP and they are sending me a replacement printer because the printhead developed a problem after owning it only 4 1/2 months. Apparently this is a common problem for which they have had many complaints. They are not even sending me a replacement 6830 model but a brand new 8610. Even HP no longer has confidence in the 6830. Aside from the inconvenience of not having a printer until the new one arrives, is the added nuisance of having just replaced the ink cartridges in order to perform the troubleshooting with the tech before the replacement could be approved. Now I'm out the money I paid for brand new cartridges that will not be compatible with the new printer. STAY AWAY FROM THIS LEMON.

I have been using an older HP printer model from 2007. I figured I needed to get with the times and upgrade and I'm very glad I did. This printer is exceptional and I love that it uses wifi. I would definitely recommend this printer!

    So far, so good

I have not previously been happy with HP printers. However, so far this one seems to be working well. The setup was super easy. The only complaint is that sometimes it takes a long time for it to print the first page.

    Very Disappointed

Only have had for 3 months and now won't print and shows message on screen saying there is a printhead problem. Says to align and if that doesn't fix error, then to clean printhead. Pushed button to align, won't do anything. Pushed button to clean printhead, won't do anything and now my husband is returning it to Best Buy for replacement and hope we don't have same problem with replacement. I now see where others have had same problem so HP needs to look into this to redesign the printhead to last longer than 3 months. It was a great printer while it would print. Didn't even keep printing long enough to have to replace any ink cartridges.

Great for a basic all-in-one printer. I have one at work, so I knew how well it worked, and purchased this for home use.

    JUNK "DO NOT BUY"

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Printhead error will happen, not if, but when. Best Buy took it back, but they no longer offer the 4 year warranty that I just bought when buying this piece of junk, so when it was returned, they reduced the warranty to two years and refunded the rest of my warranty purchase...I asked if it was because this is junk, the clerk just smiled and nodded in the affirmative. Save yourself the trouble and buy a decent printer!

After a month, I have found that the wifi is very inconsistent. Works one day and not the next day. The print quality is good and fast. It is louder than I thought it would be. Overall, it is an ok printer.

Setup took about 50 minutes. Not so sure about the automatic HP ink program. I've only printed a handful of pages and have already received more ink. Plus, when I signed up the website promised an extra free month, but the page then said I had "one" free month of ink.

2nd purchase. Thought maybe just a defect with 1st one. Nope, 2nd printer is doing the same. After installing new cartridges, printhead fail. Error code 0xc19a0035. I have followed all steps to correct and only solution now is to have it serviced. Don't buy!!

    Horrible

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I bought this printer about a month ago. I wanted a wireless printer that could copy & fax, and the reviews appeared to be great for this printer. However, a few days ago, while trying to print a recipe a "problem with printhead" error appeared on the screen. Then, wanting to fix the problem myself I went on google for troubleshooting options. However, what I found was that numerous other people have encountered the same problem and there is no solution. So today I called HP expecting to get help because it is still under warranty. But, the lady helping me was extremely under-qualified, could not offer any more help than google, and her only solution was to have me spend $100 on new ink (when the ink is not the problem). Only AFTER I try out the new ink will they send me a new printer. Also, on this printer the printhead is impossible to remove and manually clean. Never again will I buy ANY HP product because of their atrocious customer service and horrendous 'warranty' And, even after this, if you still want to buy this printer because of the great reviews on it, go on google and search "HP 6830 problem with printhead" because you'll be searching it in a month when you buy this printer and it stops working.

    2 failed printheads!!!!

Repeated failed printhead. First time (6 weeks new), had to go through 2 hours of being passed around before they guy said they would replace it. Had to give them CC for incidentals until i returned it. Got the refurbished one, carefully packed the first and sent it it. 8 hrs of inconvenience for the whole thing! And, of course, had to put in new ink. That one lasted about 8 weeks. It is now in the bottom of my trash bin, with all of its extra ink!

this printer is pretty neat. it does exactly that, prints cards, invites, photos, has memory slot and usb drive for hooking up other equipment. then the amount of paper and quality this thing holds is great. i use it 4x per week for the past 7 months and its been great and always functions properly. it is wifi also so you can print from your phone or other devices. overall very satisfied with this purchase and would tell others to buy it. was great on sale and paid less than $80 for it black friday 2015 and it was a high quality printer for active use. were glad we bought it

    Printhead problems

I purchased 2 of these for my office. Worked great for the first few months, then began to have printhead problems continually with both printers. Looking at reviews this appears to be a problem experienced by many. I definitely would not recommend this model. In the past HP printers have been good.

I bought the printer in June of 2015. It connected and worked just fine until about 2 weeks ago. It began having print head errors. Power cycling the printer would sometimes fix the issue, but it kept reoccurring. After new print cartridges and time online with HP Support (I could never wait on hold for phone support) they have decided that it needs to be sent to them for repair or replacement. I need to have a printer that is reliable. This will be returned to Best Buy, if they wil allow it. This is my second HP Printer to go bad in the last couple of years. I will not be pruchasing a HP again, any time soon. .

    Broke after 2 months

Printer started showing error code after 1 month. I followed what hp said to do on its website with some success. This meant I had to reset (turn off the printer and unplug it) every day. Very annoying for a brand new item. After a month of this, it stopped working and refused to print even after reset. After perusing through forums, it was obvious this was a known issue and hp's answer was to replace the printer under warranty with a refurbished one. Thanks, but no thanks. If the brand new one didn't work, I'm not taking a chance on a refurbished one. Printer was a total loss. Of course it died right after I replaced the ink cartridge. NEVER AGAIN WILL I BUY AN HP PRINTER.
