Terrible Printer / Awful Customer Support
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased HP Officejet Pro 6835 from Costco - same as the 6830's but the 6835's were made only for Costco & Sam's Within 60 days of purchase had to deal with error message regarding printhead twice Call HP and are able to troubleshoot but several hours wasted & both times told need to purchase new color ink because if color not full, black & white may not print and will get message error again- I almost never print in color Next 30 days printhead error message - again contact HP - 2 hours later determine faulty machine - told have had issues with this model and if I give them my credit card info they will ship me out a 6830, but wait, it will come in a box that has been opened by their techs who are going to test the machine to verify no issues- they will throw out my credit card info when I send back the defective machine WHAT! Give HP my credit card info-wait for a "reconditioned" (used) machine to arrive-go to hassle of boxing defective unit up and ship back-trust they will not charge my card??? How about I take the 90 day old defective unit back to Costco-get a new unit today and post a review of HP online? Supervisor says will waive credit card info now and ship overnight OK, I bite - unit arrives (very used/scratched up unit) with letter attached that I cannot use my previous, but still full ink cartridges. I should recycle them and use only the setup ink cartridges received with used machine Should have known better Shipping used machine back-returning defective unit to Costco-buying new printer (will not be HP)-and posting everywhere online so others can avoid these machines Buyers Beware of HP!

Not even a year old... :(
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Worked great with the PC for the 11 months that it DID work. Couldn't ever get my Macbook to connect. Purchased this almost exactly 11 months ago. Worked great for those 11 months. This morning, it printed a receipt for a fax and then when I went to print something else, it immediately told me there was a problem with the printhead. Reseated the ink cartridges. Power-cycled the device. Still have the error. Searched the web, only to learn that this is a common problem with this device. When it DID work, the quality was good. It just took a LONG time to do its little printhead dance. From the time I turned it on, until the time it would actually start printing, anywhere from a minute to three minutes would go by. SO glad that I purchased the extra warranty. Hoping they do right by me on this.

Do not buy this printer
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased this printer in July 2015. HP had to replace it in Oct 2015 due to a defective printhead. Now in December, the printhead is defective again. On HP website, they have a disclaimer about this particular printer services "6800 series" stating that there is a problem with the printheads. I contacted HP customer service and escalated my complaint to the management team. They would not refund my money, but this week replaced this Officejet 6830 with Officejet 8610.

As you know, contacting HP to address printhead issues is what is recommended. HP Support can determine if a replacement printer is required for printhead issues.

Bad Printer Head
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Within 2 months of owning MANY users have had a warning message prompt saying (Problem with printhead 0x19a0003). It is a very wide spread issue and the printer cannot be repaired, it will only be replaced by HP after hours of tech support chat. My re-furbish from HP lasted one week- then the same message appeared so PLEASE take heed.

junk
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This printer is without a doubt the WORST piece of electronic equipment I have ever experienced. I have both called and chatted with hp customer service and they can sometimes make it work for a short period of time. I have not had a single week of use from this thing in the 4 months I have owned it.

Worse printer ever! PROBLEM WITH PRINTHEAD!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought it used it once, a month later I tried to use it for the second time and got the error message, Problem with Printhead. I called HP they wanted to replace it with the same unit, I put up a fight and they replaced it with a HP 8610 printer instead. Google the HP 6830 printhead, there all bad, and HP knows it! The advance rep. told me there aware of the problem with this model. There still selling them though, terrible company.

Not impressed
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I read several reviews about the printer before purchasing. I saw quite a few positive responses, so I purchased it. I have had the printer for less than 4 months and it no longer works. I followed all the recommended fixes online and it didn't help. I even chatted online with HP tech support and apparently there isn't a fix for this problem. I am less than impressed with the product and the assistance I received.

Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This printer has been a nightmare. The good reviews were accurate, sadly, so were the bad. As a long time HP printer user, I expected a good product.. 2 months after purchase, I started getting the Print Head Error. There is no fix for this error. I am currently waiting for a replacement from HP. I will give credit to HP Support for handling my problem efficiently. Because of Support I won't give the printer 1 star.

Known issues from HP
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very dissatisfied with not only the product from HP but also the service from the Best Buy store I purchased from. The printer I bought specifically because it had the four separate ink cartridges. That is one plus. It was all down hill from there. After only using the printer enough to use half of the starter ink package the printer head went out. This is also a known issue come to find out that HP does know about. HP's Solution is to replace it with a refurbished model and it doesn't even come over night shipping which is a joke. Now what am I supposed to do for a printer, go and pay someone to print documents off for me? Forget that! So I called the Best Buy store I made the purchase from to have it covered by Warranty. Which while looking it up on HP's website I have a valid warranty with 8 months left. The associate at the store said there is nothing they can do with out me showing my receipt from purchase. Are you kidding me!! So now I am stuck getting a refurbished replacement from HP that won't be here for 4 days, and still has the same issue with the printer head failing!! WHAT A JOKE!!! NEVER BUYING PRODUCT FROM HERE AGAIN!!!!!

Great printer at a great price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Printer is easy to set up - just plugged it in and my iMac found it. It does everything I need - prints quickly, scans and copies; I don't have a need for faxing - at a reasonable price.

Excellent printer!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is an excellent all in one printer. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because it goes through ink quickly - like most inkjet printers.

bad print head
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am on my second 8630 printer. The print head went after 2 months on the first one and 3 weeks on the second one. What a shame. It's a great printer if it didn't have this problem. The folks at best buy were wonderful in exchanging the first one. I am returning the second one today but am asking for them to give me another model for the same price. We'll see how it goes.

Worst. Printer. Ever.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Absolute piece of junk. Worked great for two months. After that was an on-going series of inability to connect to Wifi, random errors, etc. Would go offline for days at a time then come back to life and print out a week's worth of documents. Not a Wifi problem as every other device in the house works just fine. Such a waste of time and money!

Worse purchase
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought HP 6830 couple of months ago for house use, barely printed 40 sheets and got the error message for PrintHead. Printhead malfunction can't be fixed, you have to call HP support and they send you a REFURBISH printer in return even though you paid full price for the purchase

Should have known
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. To start, I realize technology can be glitchy, and went into this purchase with that in mind. I bought the first HP 6830 and setup was fairly easy. I had to download the software for my MacBook Air (no cd drive) and had print issues with the first few test pages - black was smearing. After an hour on the phone with HP (admittedly, a very helpful, friendly technician), we determined it was a faulty printhead. OK, I bought the two-year replacement plan, so I took it back for replacement. Second unit was a breeze to set up (had it down by now), but the next day, I got cartridge failure notices for all four cartridges (they were the original cartridges from the box). After digging online some more, I'm finding that printhead and cartridge issues are pretty common for some of the HP printers. My patience has run out and am returning this one and getting another brand - which isn't an easy find for an Apple user.
