This is a very good printer for the price.

The scanner function routinely loses communication with the computer, but if you close all applications and restart everything it comes back. I have never had this type of issue with my Officejet 8600, and the 8600 is much faster and more quiet when when printing. I purchased two of these 6978 printers on sale, and feel I got what I paid for.

So far, so good.

Works great for this. Printed a couple pictures. Buyer beware of signing up for HP ink delivery because they already sent me some and I haven’t printed even 10 items! Will update after I start printing pictures if need to change my rating.

My only issue is watch out on HP printers that you don't sign up for the ink program. It automatically signed me up when I registered my printer,, yes they ship the ink for free, but if you go over the amount of pages it cost quite a bit. I accidentally put in I needed 50 copies of a document, when I only needed 5. That put me over.
