This is a great printer for most basic functions. It prints very clearly, including basic images; I haven't tried photos yet so I can't vouch for how it does on pictures. The scanner works real well. The utilities interface on the PC is very simple to use. I have it USB connected to my PC, and networked to my laptop and iPad. Depending on how much you print, the stater ink cartridges that come with it can last a decent length of time, but, not too long. I usually buy HP photosmart printers, but, they are beginning to be overpriced, and, I wanted a printer with individual "color" ink cartridges instead of a "tr-color" color cartridge. I highly recommend this printer, unless you specifically need a photo printer. Additionally, HP is the way to go; I have always had bad experiences with Epson printers.

I purchased my HP - Office jet Pro 6978 printer after my office purchased one and I was able to view the printer's output. The print quality has been top notch. When I purchased the printer it was on sale and I did sign for HP's ink cartridge replacement program.

The operation is not as straightforward as my old one. I have only recently installed this printer this week. So far my main problem has been in installing it onto more than one computer. It requires a WPS# which they do not give you. It says it is in the information but I could not find it in the limited printed info. supplied with the computer. By surching the internet I found out what the # is, Wi-Fi Protected Setup #, and where to find it. Even with this explanation I could not get to it! After walking away I came back and saw a different path. After I got the # it installed easily. WHY CAN'T THEY JUST GIVE YOU THE INFORMATION YOU ARE GOINING TO NEED? I spent two or three, very frustrating hours , on something unnecessary .

I've had the printer for a little over a month. Setup was straightforward, as was signing up for Instant Ink. Print quality is good. No complaints...., yet. True test of a predominantly mechanical device will be in years 2+.

A great product! Now I know why it was rated so highly by others who had bought this printer. Does everything very well!

This printer is very easy to connect with your Wi-Fi and is compact and know that it does not take up a lot of room the paper extender fold in so you never have anything extended outage always flat but definitely highly recommended

Great all in one machine!! Great for when you are on the go and you are printing from your laptop, cell phone, hand held computer or kindle you will just have to have a wifi connection for all devices to work properly

The printer works really well I get great quality images and very efficient.

I have had many hp printers this is like many of them accept it was more reasonably priced and on the hp ink program it will be more reasonable to use. Every one I have had failed with $100 of ink I could not use so this is a new printer with a new plan.

Set up was a little longer than I anticipated but eventually worked. My mother in law loves it. Half the size of her old one. Ink is a little pricey but are t they all. The touch screen is a good use. Loading paper is easy.

I chose this printer for its ability to scan multiple pages through the feeder instead of one by one on the glass scanner. It does not disappoint! The printing feature is also wonderful. It prints documents quickly and also prints high quality photos.

Love the ease of use. Signed up for HP Instant Ink monthly plan. Love getting new ink cartridges mailed to home before you run out of ink. Printer used a lot since working from home.

I had been planning to buy another printer for work-related business, and stumbled across this one in-store. It was $50 off. It was better, in my eyes, than the printers that were twice the original price. Glad I went to the store that day.

This is an excellent all-in-one printer and I would highly recommend it!

Maybe I've been in the dark ages but this is fast. Good quality copies. I've had many HP multi taskers they start off great but end up tired. I'm not a big fan of the small screen but it gives you lots of choices. I got the HP Instant ink and I print like crazy.

I recently purchase the HP office jet Pro 6978 and by far is an improvement from the series 4600 I previously had. I would like to highlight the speed, printer quality and response time. Excellent! Iris Sanguinetti

I bought this printer as I wanted a multifunction printer that was reasonably priced. Before I packed it up to move, it appeared to do all I needed but won't know until we unpack and get the wireless network functioning. I don't expect problems.
