Continual Ink Errors

Speed and quality are excellent. It’s the rest of the time that is so frustrating. Both printers had repeated errors re: cartridges being empty (despite being brand new) or not an official HP product (purchased in an HP box). The printer will not operate if one color is depleted. Dealing with this over and over in the middle of a job is beyond annoying. And the labyrinthine “support” suggestions—forget about it. Never again, HP.

First, I just want to provide a little clarification about why the printer won't print if one cartridge is empty. Your printer is designed to print only when all cartridges have ink because a little from each is used for periodic upkeep. This helps prevent issues like clogged printheads and poor print quality.
