Have never able to figure out how to use a wireless printer in past. This worked out better than imagined with software disk to setup, so finally don't have to mess with cords and space limitations. Two thumbs up on quality, value, and efficiency.

The printer prints great quality photos and documents, but HP recently pushed an update that refuses to print if the printer detects ink cartridges that aren't official HP inks.

It has the same kind of printing noise as anyother printer. Picture quality printing is okay, but not the best. Prints sort of fast. You can print via email which is my favorite part while away or in a hurry. You can scan back and front at the same time. Ink quality is good, and it really is cheaper to sign up for the HP Ink services if you're a student you get free months. I have 6 months free so far.

Good basic printer for the home. I use it to make copies and print from my computer.

Needed an updated printer - I like that its an all in one in a small form. Not too big not too small. Perfect for a home office or for school projects, etc. The speed is fast as well - no more waiting 10 minutes for 5 pages

Love it! I came home and it was a super easy set up. Connecting it to my Mac via the network was so easy and it’s not as load as most small printers.

This printer replaced an old all-in-one from a different vendor. We like the smaller footprint and have always been happy with HP printers. We use a USB connection rather than wireless and found the 6978 pretty easy to set up, although the minimalist instructional graphics fell a little short when it came to inserting the ink cartridges. We're still using the cartridges that came with the printer so don't know how long they'll last; we don't do enough printing to make using the Instant Ink service an option. We are very pleased with this purchase.

Printer was very easy to install. Connected to my home network with no problems via an ethernet cable. Very little time required for printer to be ready to print after turning it on. Prints two-sided very effectively and quickly.
