    Doesn't Print Partial Checks

Do not buy this printer if you like to print your checks. It will not allow you to print a partial checks (1 or 2 check page) from Quicken. This was not a problem with my previous HP Printers.

This printer is fine. It took a while to set up, required different apps and things. I couldn't recommend it or not recommend it over anything else necessarily. But it's fine.

      Hi, Stefanie.

I’m sorry to hear that your printer ran out of ink so quickly. I can certainly see why that would be an unwelcome surprise and a poor start to ownership. I want you to understand what’s happening with the device and remedy the problem if one exists, so I’ll offer what I hope are helpful resources and information.

First, I can’t say for certain what has happened with the ink supply in your case, but some printers come with what are known as setup cartridges, which have a lower capacity than regular or XL cartridges, and less still than ones in our Instant Ink program. If you’ve used only the cartridges that came with the printer, this could explain what you’re seeing.

However, if you’ve installed replacement cartridges, the XL cartridges designed for your printer have estimated yields of 825 pages, while the regular size cartridges are expected to produce about 300 pages. How cartridges perform in your own printer varies according to numerous factors, including resolution, how dry the air is and how absorbent the paper is.

Regardless, if your results differ dramatically from the estimates above, I recommend that you contact us directly at +1 800-474-6836 so we can help you assess the situation and find the best course of action. To expedite the process, I recommend gathering the following information before the call:

      - Model number
      - Serial number
      - Your location
      - Case number (from any previous contact with HP support)

***In my own opinion*** This is a simple printer for those not looking to do too much printing as a whole. Not quite the Home Office scenario but more for someone who is looking to do lite printing less than 200 sheets a month. I'm not an expert by any means, but rather, going by what I have seen so far which is decent prints but boy do the ink cartridges go quickly! About 1 month in with 5 pictures, and a couple pamphlets and resumes for some people and I am under half capacity. No wonder they want you to buy membership for Ink!

      Hi there.

I’m sorry to hear that your printer has used more ink than you’d anticipated. I can understand why that would be quite an unwelcome surprise. It does seem like you should have gotten more than what you describe, so I’ll provide some information and resources I hope will help nonetheless.

Here are some things you can consider:
      - If it appears that a cartridge was low on ink to begin with, or that the poor page yield was caused by a defective cartridge, you can always contact the seller who sent you the cartridge about that.
      - Contact us if the supplies are defective genuine cartridges that are not replaced by the vendor (and they are still within the “warranty ends” date on the cartridges). Reach out to us via this link: support.hp.com/us-en/contact-hp

Here are some facts on ink use that might help you get more prints without too much extra effort:
      - A high-density print (such as an image or graph) uses ink more quickly than a text-only document, particularly if the paper is highly absorbent and the environment is dry.
      - Using the draft and black only settings on your printer can help save on ink, particularly the colors.
      - Shutting the printer down between uses can result in some savings. However, always use the power button on the printer itself to turn it off. That will let the printer to 'park' so that the nozzles that spray the ink onto the paper are protected from excess drying.

If the problem persists, I recommend that you reach out to us so we can help you assess the situation and work through any necessary troubleshooting with you. Get in touch via your preferred method at this link: hp.com/contactHP
