Great printer, except the scanning process is not

However, we have not figured how to scan by just using the buttons on the printer to scan and send the scanned doc to a computer. We have to use the HP software on the laptop to scan and save the doc. Frustrating

HP Officejet Pro 8025e

I miss the port to put a USB - not sure if there is one on this model. Was reasonably priced. I have not used the scanner as of yet and need to research this operation, as I will have plenty of opportunities to use it. Ink replacement offer was great!
