Worked for 45 min trying to get it to work, kept saying to put in HP ink. I put in HP ink, the ink that came with the printer. Finally I was able to reach the HP help. Another 45 min for him to tell me that the ink that came in the box was bad. 10 days later, new ink arrives. I finally get the courage to try again 5 days after that. Put the ink in, and now the screen is telling me to put the ink in that came with the printer. I am so frustrated. I will be contacting Best Buy to return the printer and this ink thingy.

I’m sorry to hear that your printer rejected two sets of ink cartridges and failed to set up like it should. I can understand why that would be incredibly frustrating, especially with the time spent troubleshooting and waiting for the new ink to arrive. With that in mind, if you’ve not yet returned the printer, I’ll offer some resources that I hope will help.
From your review, I can’t tell why your printer would not accept the ink cartridges, so I recommend that you contact us directly at +1 800-474-6836 so we can help you assess the situation and find a solution. (Please note that because of restrictions on personal movement and workplace attendance associated with the COVID-19 pandemic, wait times for agents are longer than normal. Thanks in advance for your understanding.) To expedite the process, I recommend gathering the following information before the call:
- Model number
- Serial number
- Your location
- Case number (from any previous contact with HP support)
I'll also mention that HP printers have a one-year warranty from their purchase date that covers hardware as well as ink supplies, so if it comes to that, you might consider making use of it. You can verify the warranty using the following link: support.hp.com/us-en/checkwarranty
