Customers are saying

Customers are satisfied with the Officejet Pro 8610's print quality, ease of use, and wireless functionality. Many appreciate its ease of setup and the inclusion of fax and scanning capabilities. However, some find the printer to be large, and a few note that it can be somewhat noisy during operation. Overall, the positive feedback on key features outweighs the negative comments regarding size and noise.

Our fax went belly up so I went online to see what a good replacement would be. Bingo, found this with added an added plus it scans too! Great all in one just in case my scanner goes belly up... Best buy has always provided products that are affordable and their service is awesome.

Does Not Stay Connected to WiFi

Bought this for the ability to connect to home WiFi and print wirelessly from my various computers in the house. However, whenever it goes to sleep to drops the internet connection. Have had TERRIBLE issues with using the wireless connection...and there are plenty of users who complain of the same thing. Have seen lots of complaints on various blogs about the same thing with this printer. Have updated drivers, software, etc., and it still has a difficult time connecting to home WiFi and keeping the connection, whether it's with my Linux laptop or Windows desktop. Have even changed out WiFi modem/router. For the most part have to directly connect it to the computer using USB. When it does print, prints quickly and very nicely. Cannot recommend.

Purchased March 19th and just now added a new black cartridge . Color cartridges are running low but still printing. Does everything it was intended to do. I have ran into some WI-FI issues, but nothing major.

I have had the printer for 4 months. It has worked great. Use of the Wifi has been excellent for multiple laptops, ipads and desktop. The pay one price per month ink program is a must have. Helps budget cost and never out of ink

Like the way it prints quicker than the older printer we had. Just a little large for my area I have it in but the price was such a bargain it is worth the size.

Buyer Beware -- potential for hardware malfunction

    Posted .

We were also happy with the performance of the printer for the first 8 months we owned it. It then began refusing to print for no clear reason. At the 10-month mark, it finally quit altogether with a printerhead malfunction message. We were told by HP that it was a hardwear malfunction and they replaced the printer as part of the warranty. (We were pleased with the speed of their response.) However, the warranty does not change and if this printer malfunctions outside the warranty period of the ORIGINAL printer, we'll be on our own. Needless to say, we're a bit concerned. So, it's important that you know this is a possibility (likelihood?) that appears to be a well-documented problem with this printer before purchasing it.

    great printer for the price

I had bought this printer for four months now and to this day I am very satisfied with this purchase. Ink usage is very good. I am still on the original ink as I printed about 200 front and back pages (about 300-400 single pages) of paper now and still have about 1/4 of the ink left. I've bought this printer because it was on sale for half the price and decided to give it a try because of the good reviews. I rated this printer 4 out of 5 just because I haven't tried out every single features that it has. But the ink usage was good enough (in my opinion) for me to give it a 4*.

I bought this printer when my old photo HP broke down. I researched the printer options that HP had and looked at the reviews from Best Buy customers. After talking to an associate in the store, this was the best choice for my needs. It does everything I need for personal use is so easy to use. Great choice!

A very sturdy, fast and easy to set up printer

Bought this printer to work in an office environment to be shared among 5-10 team colleagues. Set up to be a network printer / scanner is a breeze. Scan / print goes reasonably quick so that there's no jam when someone is at it. Printer/Scanner software is very lean and doesn't seem to eat up too much processor's power. I'm happy with this purchase. Best Buy is as usual a good place to pick: quick and no-hassle return if something goes wrong.

Well designed, lots of features and functions, fast and quality printing output, used in a small office environment, not want for further features as of yet. Aesthetically pleasing as well.

The cloud print options are great. I can print from most any device form anywhere I have network access. The most important feature is being able to print from my Chromebook and iPad.

Setting up an office and this is just what we needed for our business. Can't beat the price when it's on sale for just a little more than replacement ink for an old printer. Working great so far. Document feeder on the scanner pulls stuff through straight better than my printer at home. I like the touchscreen. Setup was really easy.

If you need a good wifi home office printer for the price, then, this is the printer for you. It's not the fastest printer and scanner, but, for the price you can't go wrong.

Has worked great for me, with only one small hiccup. The auto-update didn't work for some reason, causing it to show up as 'offline'. Problem was easily fixed with HP Print and Scan Doctor.

Sooo happy with my purchase!! This printer is beyond useful. Scans multiple pages at a time, LCD touchscreen, fast printing, wireless convenience and just too much more to mention. Best Buy had the best price compared to every other major retailer. Bought online and picked up in store less than 24 hours later. This printer is seriously amazing! Highly recommended.

I got this printer to replace a three year old HP 7510 which stopped printing. However, I would like to have an instruction book to answer some questions about the operation.

We recently "upgraded" from a old Canon inkjet to what we expected to be a good printer. I've spent countless hours doing research and my decision on buying this HP printer was well though out. Or not. We've now owned this device for 3 months. Randomly it refuses to print. Printing error it claims. For no particular reason. It just printed a page I did not even input to print, ruining the whole flyer I was making. Not to mention, if I am printing on paper, it crumples it in the beginning rendering the whole flyer useless. I can't say my printing costs have been deducted, having in mind the huge waste of ink and paper. Next problem - I can not print on card stock. While there is such option in the printer's settings, if I do chose that and try printing a whole page a portion of it does not get printed on. Seriously, everything is good, until the last 1/4 of the page is completely blank!! Another 10 wasted pages.... and ink.... and paper. And MY TIME!!!! Can't say printing speed is very impressive either. I mean, I was trying to upgrade from a Canon MP490, and so far I am extremely unimpressed. Next problem - let's say I am printing 20 pages. No way to tell! I do not see a printing count anywhere - not on my computer, not on the device itself. So I have to waste more time counting the pages. And pray to God the printer didn't decide to skip a page. To all of you people out there, looking for a printer that's reliable, efficient and user friendly, look some where else. I don't understand why this device got 4.6 out of 5 stars. I wish I could leave 0!
