ink is costly but hp has a nice program. does everything i need

A great multi-function printer especially for the price

I purchased this HP 6610 yesterday, installed it today. My first print on plain copy paper was fine. However, when I tried to use GLOSSY paper, it would not print. I went to all the main forums and this seems to be an unresolved issue. I will return this tomorrow and likely switch companies.

a easy use all in one office printer with fast printing rate

I bought one just three months ago for my home. Used a few times--its a pure garbage. Had to throw it away--everything was wrong. Called HP--somewhere in Canada--for help before throwing it away. The HP people know they are selling garbage. They are shameless.

We were excited to try out this printer as a replacement for an old Brother that we'd been using for our online business. At first, things looked great and then the mysterious "paper jams" started... when there was no jam! It seems any time you send more than a single printer request, some sensor inside can't handle the constant flow of paper and it says it's "jammed". You then have to pause, remove all the trays, open the printer, and get it to reset... sometimes after doing this 2-3x. Every single time there is NO paper jam and nothing stuck inside, meaning this is a huge waste of time and space. AVOID THIS PRINTER IF YOU WANT TO DO ANYTHING BEYOND A SINGLE SHEET EVERY SO OFTEN!

Even though this was a step up from my old HP printer, this one does not work with AirPort. This means if you are an Apple person you can only hard wire this printer to your computer. Other things this one can't do that the old HP could: Can't print borderless double-sided Can't copy 2-sided to 2-sided

First off, I'm an advanced computer user living in Silicon Valley, 'nuff said. Second, I had to elevate the issue to Level-1, then Level-2...no solution as to why the 8610 drivers do not work when a generic (test driver) 990 driver did work. Win-7 OS...been around for years. Should be no surprises, but that won't stop HP from messing everything up. I was on the support phone for 3.5 hours...OMG! Going to get a refund NOW! False advertising in it's finest form! Won't connect wirelessly or via router to printer Ethernet connection...only via USB. TCP/IP issues go unresolved...Best Buy should drop this model as fast as they can. It's a piece of JUNK!

I have had to re-set this printer numerous times! I've had similar experiences with HP printers before on my Mac. Never have I been so upset. It is SO picky when it comes to printing on photo paper. Trying to print Christmas pictures right now, and I've been at it for 3 hours. I finally ordered prints and can pick them up in half an hour for 29 cents apiece. Horrible!!!
