Customers are saying
Customers are impressed with the OfficeJet Pro 8710's print quality and ease of use, frequently praising its performance and user-friendliness. Many also appreciate the wireless functionality and the reasonable price point for the features offered. While some find the printer's size to be a minor drawback, the positive feedback on its reliability and overall functionality outweighs this concern.

Very Happy
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Have used HP printers for 20 years and I get at lease 7 years out of a printer before it's time to get a new one. My old one used the 564 sized cartridges and even the XL sized ones did not seem to last that long for the price. love the size of the 952 cartridges and the price seems pretty good. Still running of the included ones so we will see. Copy and scan feed feature is nice as well as the LCD screen. Works pretty much like a stand alone office tool. Hope it lasts a long time.

HP - Heavy Problems
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am an avid buyer of products through Best Buy as their PSP are usually the easiest to deal with in any town. Generally, I am not one to leave a review, however, given that my profession is in dealing with IT support and setup scenarios it infuriated me that I spent around 16 hours over two days trying to get a simple basic function of this printer to work. Scan to network folder. If you are in an office scenario and do often scan things, and often from different users, then it is likely a nice handy network folder which is accessible to anyone from any of their computers on the network is the way to go. Everything started out well and I figured as HP has always been a solid hardware performer (I should have known better as their software and API leave a lot to be desired). Initially I had everything setup within about 30 minutes. Then the automated firmware updates happened and everything went right down hill. The new folder in which I had shared couldnt connect. Worse the entire homegroup was killed on my setup. It killed the network drive and sharing across the board. Now I performed updates, and I recreated homegroups and I reestablished users and in the end the ONE THING I needed was inaccessible to me. I factory reset the thing and given I setup an email to print email address, and be forewarned which I wasn't you have to remove the email before resetting, I was locked out of the email which we were set to use to send straight to the printer was now unavailable to me for 6 months per HP support. Even though, this same support website said otherwise. The script readers, I mean support agents, said it was in fact no good and NOTHING could be done. Multi-million/billion dollar company can't purge off an email address from their system to release it??? Incoming HP support, a 3rd party out of country call center, takes my call. I get no introduction and not one single question in regards to general troubleshooting (Everyone, even I as the professional, can tunnel vision and I was hoping that maybe I was missing a setting or something simple), but no they immediately asked me to do a remote session with me. This isn't my first rodeo as I have been around a long time, including being an inbound tech support agent, and I have done the whole I can help you with this or that and have you tried this scenario. That is aggravating enough, but a man who is reading from a script with probably years less of experience than me wants to come mess around in my personal computer on my office network that I spent a long time fine tuning to our needs, wants to just start clicking around. No, sir, I do not think so. Fast forward, 2 agents, 2 supervisors and a dev team escalation, a cup of tea and an hour and a half later - No resolution to the email and no resolution to the folder issue. Solution: Return this bugger, because as it is a nice piece of hardware in the looks and feel department, the firmware and software capabilities (which, by the way, drivers can't be installed without the network connecting to the device after being discoverable...Which the printer disappeared and never decided to be discoverable again) are just an ugly mess from 1998. If you are looking for a plug and play printer directly connected to a computer this printer will likely suit you just fine. I can garauntee there are cheaper and still better solutions for that scenario. But, if you are looking for an office solution, which this is marketed towards, save yourself time, effort and a caffeine headache and look into another manufacturer. This printer was a reminder of why the last time I bought a HP was in the early 90s when I bought my first computer. They just aren't the company they used to be and their products and customer support are an ugly reminder of what was and what is and shouldn't be. I hope this helps. You get what you pay for. Printers are an investment. Invest wisely.
No, I would not recommend this to a friendBrand response from HP Team
Posted .Hi,
I am so sorry for the unsatisfying experience you've had with that printer. I can assure you that we aim to provide nothing short of a reliable experience with our products, and your experience should never have been an exception.
Normally, I would advise you to try the HP Software Wizard, to do a power reset, or would provide you with links to instructions. However, it sounds like you should have gone through all those things if you reached an approved support center and the measures cannot be done if the unit is returned.
If there is anything we can help you with in the future, please give us a second chance and be sure to contact us using one of the methods found at: hp.com/contactHP
