Good performance and stability, I like the speed and image quality

Great printer. High quality. Wish it were smaller and same quality.

I have been a fan of Hewlett-Packard printers for many years. When my last printer failed after 6 years of constant use, I tried a more expensive model. I returned it and purchased this model instead. It does it all....and with the instant ink option, it’s an incredible value!

Purchased this with the intent of having more ink per page. It didn’t disappoint!!! Great printer for business/documents. It is not the greatest for pictures, but it does a good enough job that unless you are a picture snob you are going to be happy with your purchase.

I have purchased many of these printers over the years (8600, 8700, 8710), and they are a great value for someone who works from their home office. Very reliable/dependable. I was fortunate I needed this near Christmas and got an unbelievable price for the printer.

I have dealt with plenty of bad printers in my days but this one surprised me and turned out to be a very solid printer. My last printer was an HP and was frustrating at times but I read up on this model and heard good things. I decided to give HP another chance and I'm glad I did.

Printer can fax, scan, copy in color and make beautiful pictures.

I am very happy with this printer, it is great for those who are printing in bulk. It is a bit bulky though. I bought it as a home printer and it barely fits. I have printed multiple photos also and they were very good. One issue is that there is only one tray for paper so you need to switch from plain paper and photo paper.

My son uses it for college. He loves being able to print from his phone. We have had no problems using it and picture quality is great! I would definitely recommend this product to others.

I had an older HP printer (HP photosmart c6180) for about 12 years and finally was having problems . I looked at no other brand because I know HP will be long lasting and this doesn't disappoint! Easy set up and love the ink program. I won't enroll until I use up most of the ink, i actually don't print excessively but it looks really affordable!

8170 is super easy to set-up and efficiently does its job. Menu is not as intuitive as older model 8600, but has more options and features. Would prefer to have the paper alignment on the right front of side of the glass (like the 8600) versus left rear of the glass. Overall pleased - great value!

This printer was a breeze to set up, wirelessly. I was quite impressed. The big drawback to this printer is the cost of the ink. That is one thing I did not check before my purchase. You are not able to buy XL ink in colors, only in black. The printer is also quite noisy when it prints. Other than these two cons, it is working beautifully.

Great printer with fast print & copy speed. Only complaint is that unlike any other printer owned, I cannot reduce the size of the print area that is to be printed (or scaling). There is usually an option to go as low as 25% on other printers. This is important to me since I need to reduce printed pages from PowerPoint and Publisher to use as labels.

The printer fit in the roll out drawer under our computer. Set up was easy. Print image is very good for black and white and color. The printer cartridges are a little pricey. However, replacements are for blue, yellow, red, or black. You only replace what color is depleted.

setting up the wifi printing for a mac is not obvious or easy, tried the ink hp programme but seems to get through ink fast

This printer is ridiculously good! If I need something printed this is my go to printer every single time hands down. I can email it stuff to print which came in handy last time I flew to china and needed to print something in america! I recommend this thing so much!

Easy setup and faster than the usual printers of this type.
