Very good quality printer and very easy to set up. I got a great deal by purchasing the printer at the same time as a new laptop.

Far too many bells and whistles that are not needed b y a normal user and much flimsier construction than my Officejet Pro 8600 that it replaced. The 8600 lasted over 10 years. I highly doubt this printer will come close. It also goes through ink a lot faster. Anything to improve HP's bottom line. I would only recommend this because alternatives are worse or much more expensive.

We had an HP Officejet printer for 10 years and it was great. We bought this thinking it would be the same great printer. However, it’s been problematic from the start. The hardware itself seems good; the software is horrible. Even getting the correct software downloaded and installed was a frustrating and painful process. I thought going for the 6 month free printer ink would be a good idea. Instead, I’ve been sent printer cartridges without requesting any and without a significant use of the printer ink. It feels like HP is attempting to rush us through the “six months of free ink” without really giving us 6 months worth. It’s slipshod service. In hindsight, this was not all that good a purchase.

Does a decent job but took hours to install

Took three calls and more than two hours with HP+ Support to get a basic function working (to scan to a computer using the printer's control panel scren that should have worked from initial installation. It doesn't help that troubleshooting instructions on that screen don't match up with the HP sites they point to. On the plus side, phone support was free and readily available - and ultimately (it appears) successful.
