    It probably is an excellent printer but the HP software required to operate it did not harmonize with my new MAC software Mac OS 12.0.1 , it was not easily loaded by myself, not highly skilled in computer technology. I tried Geek Squad online and that also failed. A Geek Squad member visited my home home and set it up for me. More than 10 days transpired before I had printer capability.

    Printer broke 2 months after my 2 year warranty expired. Geek Squad refused to service the printer, even though I pay for Best Buy Total Membership. When I called HP for tech support they told me I have to pay over $50 for trouble shooting and additional shipping costs, plus parts and labor expenses. I am very dissatisfied. My last HP printer worked for over 10 years.

    I have bought a few of these, and 3 out of 4 worked really well. But the one lemon is a nightmare. Pay attention to problems with ink. And return policy once it starts with constant printing problems. The others have been great.

    I love hp printers and this is the first one that I've had problems with downloads and set up. Not sure I''m going to like HP Smart. It makes it a separate step to scan because you have to go to Smart. I'm sorry my hp 6978 wore out. Believe I liked it better.
