I have purchased and use HP printers and scanners since 1991 and up until the last two I purchased they were great. This printer prints great. It is the scanner that sucks. The auto document feeder ALWAYS scans crooked. Now it will NOT!! scan legal documents. Single or double sided. I set to scan Legal (8-1/2" X 14") and it only scans 11" of the document.

Also paper catch tray cant be adjusted so when paper comes out, it flies on the floor. Worst HP printer I’ve ever had and support is totally lacking!

I’m sorry you’ve encountered difficulty with your printer. Your disappointment comes as no surprise, considering a scan feature falls short of your expectations and you’ve found the device’s output tray lacking. I want to help you remedy the paper tray feature and learn more about the device so you can get the most from it. I hope the information and resources below reach that end.
First, the output tray has an extender that should keep prints in place once they exit the printer. I recommend you look at the diagram under the “Get Started” section of the main user manual, which you can find on our support site here:
