I felt i bought a toy from the 99 cent store. Lord how cheap can you get. I am SHOCKED! Great reviews but no one mentions the cheap cheap plastic. This thing wont last and at $269 plus tax it’s disgusting. My jeans are more sturdy than this pile of sugar cane with handles. Hp should be ashamed! I will update once i install this but not sure i can keep this.

I’m happy with the printer now. Would be 5 stars except that I had to return the first one due to failure of one of the ink channels. I returned it through Best Buy. Had to talk to a sales person on the phone. The chat agents couldn’t help.

    Overpriced ink, forced product bundling

I bought this printer only with the understanding that I woke be able to use 3rd party ink (as HP ink cartridges are extremely overpriced). That worked for about 35 days, until HP forced a firmware update, which now causes errors when refilling cartridges and when using non-HP ink. To make matters worse, this printer consumes MUCH more ink than my last printer (of similar quality). This is the last HP printer I will purchase, as this one will be sold, donated, or trashed before I spend any more money on HP ink cartridges. Android app refuses to download. Scanning QR code results in "page not found" and app from Google Play cannot find printer. Save yourself the headaches + money and buy an Epson, Brother, or other printer with substantially greater ROI.

    Hard to scan to email

One of the main reasons I purchased this copier is to be able to scan directly from copier to an email address. After having 2 separate a/v person individual try to set up this function (including spending substantial time on the phone with HP’s technical service Who never answered) I gave up. It makes great copies — just not worth the price to do just that.

In order to use the ink carts that come with the printer you must sign up for HP Instant Ink and they dont easily tell you that. They give you the option of not signing up but truth be told you cant.

      Hi there.

I’m sorry to hear that you were not given a choice regarding the Instant Ink subscription. Your disappointment and frustration are totally understandable considering you were told the print plan was optional but it turned out not to be. I’m not sure whether you still have the printer or whether you signed up for Instant Ink, but I’ll offer some clarifying information as well as resource I hope will help at least explain what happened.

I reached out to someone who oversees this product line. She told me that the absence of choice regarding the ink subscription was a technical issue with this printer line that lasted several days but has since been corrected. You should be able to opt out of the subscription now if you prefer.

If you need further clarification about what your options are, or you need any assistance with your printer, HP+ printers come with exclusive concierge support. To call and reach live HP+ experts who can help, go to the following URL and enter your HP+ serial number:

This printer makes a lot of noise when it makes copies. It sounds like it is going to break. I used the black and white setting for several copies and Neil it told me the ink was low. I replaced the black ink but it still wouldn’t let me print unless I changed all of the inks. That cost $100! The printing seems light. Not real happy with this printer.
