If you sign up for HP INSTANT INK AND DONT KEEP UP WITH IT YOU WONT BE ABLE TO PRINT IF YOU OPT OUT. SO PLEASE DONT GO THRU THIS HEADACHE. I WILL NO LONGER BUY HP PRODUCTS.

I can wholly understand why being unable to use the Instant Ink cartridges in your device after you’d opted out of your printing plan would be an unnerving surprise if you weren’t expecting it. I want to help you resolve this situation, so I’ll offer some clarifying information and resources aimed at serving that end.
First, as you probably already know, when you sign up for Instant Ink, you choose a plan based on the number of pages you would like to print monthly, and you are billed for ink on a monthly interval. (This printer is among models that come with an offer of six months free in Instant Ink.) Replacement cartridges are shipped as needed based on usage. If you cancel your printing plan, the Instant Ink cartridges in your printer no longer work, but you can then buy replacement cartridges from your preferred retailer at your convenience.

This particular model was a bit cumbersome to set-up and get functioning properly. The set-up should be more intuitive. In this case, what the guide says is not always what will happen. Either update the set-up or make it completely automated.

This replaced an HP Officejet pro 8600, and that touch screen was easier to work with. I have big fingers and my wife has long nails so we ended up using a stylus to make it easier to dial and to use some features.
