First off, I was surprised at how flimsy the plastic was nothing like my older hp 5660 which it was to replace. During the set up it started to run into a problem, it started displaying a ink carriage jam. I tried everything that hp troubleshooting Guide instructed, but still didn’t work. After three hours of trying I gave up, pack it back up, needless to say, I took it back to Best Buy. I’ll just stick to my old reliable 5660. And do more research for a new printer.

Love the printer, love the options for connectivity. Do not like the Best Buy geek we order program I have tried it many times and it keeps failing to connect and have that service

This is a nice machine, but it has been more complicated to set up than the prior models. Quite a few more options that take time to set up.

I bought this printer for printing at my home office. Set up was a breeze and printing over WiFi is such a convenience. Happy with the way this has performed so far. Great help in these times when you are forced to WFH.

I'm disappointed however I cannot get my HP Officejet Pro 8610 repaired. Quite frankly, to date, I believe the 8610, overall, is the better product. It also seems more user friendly.

Set up was an issue, but support found a work around and ever since it's worked great. I've always bought HP printers as I think they are the best, but was not sure why this one wouldn't set up easily.

Good value but the WiFi has been a little wonky... we ended up just adding it to the wired network. The starter cartridges don’t have much ink....buy the XL cartridges for a better value than the standard size.

Was looking to replace couple year old, failed printer head HP Officejet. Always use original ink & cartridge. Let's hope this one is better quality and lasts longer with original ink and cartridge.

I really like the overall functionally of this printer, which is why I bought another one. I was also very disappointed that my previous one died in 13 months.

This printer is the best one I've ever owned. I appreciate the automatic feed that doesn't required me to "lift the lid" to make a copy. It's quick and the copies come out perfectly.

The best thing os remote printing the worst thing is the speaker that is so bad you can't understand a single word. And I couldn't figure out how to do the replacement ink code.

Working great so far. It is not clear how I can hard wire to 2 computers. Front USB can't be used for a computer input as far as I can tell. Any advice would be great.

HP OfficeJet Pro 9010: A True Next Gen

As a longtime owner of the HP OfficeJet 4630, I have no complaints about the overall performance of the HP product line for the medium volume demand of my home office. When INSTANT INK was first available, it was a leap of faith for me to buy into the deal; but, after years with the program I have only warm, fuzzy feelings about the fact that SAVINGS on ink is huge! Initially, my resistance was tied to having another tentacle on my credit card; but, in light of the huge reduction in the cost of printer ink as compared to buying ink ‘a la cart’ coupled with the cost and inconvenience of errands to reboot ink in previous years, I have no regrets and only high marks for my decision. As well, no headaches when dealing with INSTANT INK Customer Service…no long waits and no trouble securing recourse for any issues. In years, I only had one time when there was no back stock on an ink I needed. Thankfully, ‘disgruntled’ was eliminated since I had no resistance in securing accommodation for the inconvenience and lost time. In my estimation, turns out the highest logic when you look at your average monthly volume of printing, you can only save not only your dollars but you save the time and energy spent shopping for ink. Especially when I think about the frustration when the office supply shop would be out of stock for my SKU, I know INSTANT INK was a good move. I am also ‘very OK’ with not having to check when I am running low. Instead, my printer ink level is automatically monitored remotely; so, an order is placed on my behalf via our ‘internet of all things’ before I run out. Though the convenience is another level of surveillance that gives us a little existential angst, in this case, the system has worked 99.9 percent of the time. So, the INSTANT INK program was a no brainer when I decided to move to the HP9010 because, when low, the ink I need appears at my door with an eco-friendly recycling envelope. I rarely go over my projected number of pages; but, when I do, for one dollar, I get an additional 15 pages. Plus roll over pages allowed depends on the Usage Plan : For instance at 50 pages per month, pay $2.99 per month then an extra $1 for an additional 15 pages if I exceed 50 pages. The rollover is up to 100 pages. Moderate usage is 100 pages/mth @ $4.99/mth with a rollover up to 200 pages Frequent usage is 300 pages/mth@ $9.99/mth with a rollover up to 300 pages. Business level usage is 700 pages/mth @ $19.99/mth with a rollover up to 1400 pages. Can’t resist noting that HP packed the printer in a 2-handled, rugged plastic bag; so, the nicely designed unit easily slips out of the insulated box. After I plugged in the printer, each step was guided by the instructional screen at the top edge of the machine. I opened the bottom front door, the ink carrier moved into position to receive clearly labelled cartridges for easy installation. The paper rack slides out of the bottom to receive a generous stack of paper. I was then guided to print then scan my alignment page. As well, the HP SMART software was a seamless tie into my WINDOWS 10. I got “INSTANT” recognition of the printer on my laptop screen for above and beyond “INSTANT INK”. Thereafter, I selected FILE to find PRINT for a test document from the lap top, I found then selected my new device in the drop down list. Set up was the most hassle free and intuitive in all my experience with printers. So, in this case, next generation is truly an upgrade. Now while I sort through a data migration from my old laptop to a newbie, I found the HP SMART software in WINDOWS 10 located both laptops so I didn’t even have to take additional action to connect my old unit. Now, I am up and running with the HP standard of high resolution for my color pics, copies and printing. As long as your wifi is glitch free, set up is a breeze. No additional cord is included for a wired connection. Next step is to connect via my smart phone. I will scan the QR Code on the guide to download the HP SMART software for my Android. Same is available for iPhone and related devices respectively. Though I rarely scan, the option tested positive without obstacle.

I am overall pleased with the printer, but I can't believe they sold it before the drivers were available. In order to scan, I have to go to the app on the computer and scan from there.
