I only purchased this printer in September, four months ago, and it just stopped working. All I get is printer offline or printer not turned on which is false in both cases. I have complete internet connectivity on all my other devices and printers and the thing is completely turned on but just won't work. We tried all the usual remedies but the thing is just dead! Huge disappointment, esp from HP.

      Hi there.

I’m sorry to hear that your printer stopped working. It’s no surprise that this comes as a huge disappointment, considering you’ve tried remedial measures yet the device still shows it’s offline or not turned on. I want to help you resolve the situation, so I’ll direct you to a resource and some information I hope will make that happen.

I can’t tell from your review why the printer remains inert despite your attempts to revive it. I recommend that you contact us directly so we can help you assess the situation and find the best course of action. HP+ printers such as yours come with exclusive concierge support. To call and reach live HP+ experts, visit the following URL and enter your HP+ serial number:
      - hp.com/plus-help

I'll also mention that HP printers have a one-year warranty from their purchase date that covers hardware as well as ink supplies – and that warranty extends to two years with an HP+ account – so if it comes to that, you might consider making use of it. You can verify the warranty using the following link:

This printer has been nothing but a giant headache. It constantly gives off new error messages and after finally getting it to print, it now no longer scans because of something about a user name and password. Super frustrating.

Seems to work great so far. The colors are a bit light. You have to make an account with HP to use the scanner, which was disappointing.

      Hi there.

Thanks for the review and the feedback. While I’m glad you’re pleased with your printer’s performance overall, I’m sorry to hear that print quality is a little substandard and that you don’t like the functionality of the scanner. I want to help you make the printer’s color output more rich and vibrant, so I’ll direct you to a resource aimed at meeting that goal.

First, I recommend following the steps listed in this guide to improving print quality, including streaked or faded prints, color or black ink not printing properly or at all, and blurred or fuzzy text:
      - support.hp.com/us-en/document/c06191659

If the problem persists or you need assistance with anything else, I suggest that you contact us directly at +1 800-474-6836 so we can help you assess the situation and find a solution. (Please note that because of restrictions on personal movement and workplace attendance associated with the COVID-19 pandemic, wait times for agents are longer than normal. Thanks in advance for your understanding.) To expedite the process, I recommend gathering the following information before the call:

Flipping awful. It won't connect stably to my Mac Book Pro through wireless to print. Connection goes in and out. Also slow . I have had HP printers for 10 years plus and they were great. The last one never missed a beat. This is really awful HP

      Hi, Gregg and Louise.

I’m sorry that your printer has performed poorly. I can wholly understand why unreliable connectivity and slow print speed would be a disappointing combination, especially considering you’ve had good experiences with previous HP printers. I want to help you resolve these problems, so I’ll suggest some resources aimed at making that happen.

First, I recommend you look through a troubleshooting guide that contains sections specific to Mac OS and iOS that you can find on our support site related to connectivity and other printing issues.

      Printer offline or not responding:
      - support.hp.com/us-en/document/ish_2026537-1681507-16

Next, I suggest you follow a guide on our support site that covers improving print speed; among its suggestions are instructions on updating firmware, which can help improve speed and other performance. Find that guide here:
      - support.hp.com/us-en/document/ish_2817150-2408088-16

If any problem persists, I hope you’ll contact us directly at +1 800-474-6836 so we can help you assess what’s happening and find the best course of action. To expedite the process, I recommend gathering the following information before the call:

The dual scanner doesn't work as advertised. I made multiple calls to HP and downloads and still didn't fix my issue. At first, it would not load the dual side, then after downloading a new driver, it would consistently be jammed.

Instant Ink is a terrible nag service that requires your printer to be connected to the cloud at all times. Support is helpless, printer wouldn't connect to my Macbook for a week and they wanted me to give them remote access to my entire machine. Ink is terribly expensive. Wish I bought a Brother.

Don't waste your time or money. This printer is cheaply made and every time I powered it up I had to reset the print cartridges. If I touched the cartridge on the far left, it would fly out and hit me in the face. If I reset them all, it might print. Most often it took several resets to get it to go Online.

      Hi there.

I’m sorry to hear that you’ve had such a dreadful time with your printer. I can wholly understand why the frequent need to reset the ink cartridges as well as the left-most cartridge sometimes coming out and hitting you in the face would be a jarring surprise. I want to help you resolve this situation, so I’ll provide a resource as well as some information aimed at reaching that goal.

I can’t tell from your review why the system that holds the ink cartridges has performed so poorly, but it definitely deserves further investigation. Good with one drawback

Overall this is an excellent all in one printer. Average size for what it is. Relatively quiet. Prints, scans & copies quickly. Does everything you could want. Print quality is excellent. To early to know how the ink usage will be but the cartridges are sizable. Set up was probably about the easiest I've ever seen with any printer. If you dread the thought of dealing with a complicated setup, then this might just be for you. It quickly found the wi-fi and the built in touch screen was easy to use & navigate. I might ad the touch response of the screen is great. So all in all, it's everything you could ask for. So what is the drawback that i mentioned in the title? Loading the ink cartridges. They are easy to get to, but getting them to stay in place took about 10 tries. Most printers have cartridges that clip into place. Here they slide straight into a spring loaded slot. I'm sure this is done to make them easier to remove. However, the design allows for the cartridges to easily spring out while loading them. Time and again I was sure they were loaded correctly only to have the printer tell me one or more cartridges wasn't seated. When I would check them, they would appear to be in place only to find the spring had pushed the cartridge out just enough so the cartridge wouldn't seat properly. Really a poor design in my eyes. However, once I finally got them seated they have stayed in place since then. So overall I do really like the printer for it's ability and print quality, but just be aware of the fiddly ink cartridges.
