When it was first set up it kept getting a fatal error. I kept it on for about a day and now I have no fatal error. I also downloaded The HO Smart app which helped with setup.

    Don't buy HP

Just wouldn't work. Brand new machine paired with a brand new Windows 11 computer. It would not setup via WiFi...no option to connect via cable (no cable provided). HP should be embarrassed. The printer's control panel just said, "Go to setup website," which of course didn't work on 3 different devices. And of course HP support is not 24 hours. There's a reason why this lemon only earns 4.1 stars.

    No printer drivers

The printer seems to work fine once you get it set up. The set up manual is so full of marketing contamination that it took me three days and a call to customer service just to get the drivers installed! I do not recommend it!! Rewrite the manual and include the drivers with the machine!

    Junk printer, predatory business model.

Reviewing the current version (9125e) because HP discontinued the previous, largely identical version I purchased (9015e). I have owned this HP printer for 3 years, and it has been the most infuriating printer purchase I've ever made. You're constantly goaded into their "Instant Ink" subscription service, which is never a good deal for the consumer, and threatened when you dare attempt to use 3rd party ink cartridges. I was able to keep the printer disconnected from the internet to avoid it constantly 'phoning home' to HP, but having access to wireless printer means needing knowledge of advanced router configuration. After 3 years of very light use, the paper feed gear shredded itself because it's made of cheap, flimsy plastic. I've printed at absolute most 1000 pages on this printer, and it's a brick. Luckily a third party company is manufacturing and selling replacement gears for $20 for the widely known issue that HP support won't acknowledge. You need to fully disassemble the printer to replace the gear. HP phone support is completely helpless by design, they aren't given the tools needed to solve problems, which helps HP sell more printers. I'll never buy another HP printer, and neither should you.

HP: making our world more difficult

On January 22, 2025 I went to bestbuy.com to order a new HP OfficeJetPro 9125e and was redirected to the HP.com Store where ordering the printer and extra ink cartridges were easy and seamless. Delivery was prompt. I unpacked and plugged in the unit. You first have to download the HP Smart app. I required this printer to recognize several devices for printing and scanning purposes. It was the most painful process that i ever experienced and the printer or scanner did not recognize any of our PC's without multiple convoluted steps. HP online chat assistant Fahad valiantly assisted me with one device. Nothing about this was 'plug & play' so be prepared. Also the touch screen is very small so if you have large fingers you will have a very difficult time navigating. HP made the printing world more complicated with this product.

HP lost me as a customer

I have owned 10 HP printers in the last 20 years. I wanted a different HP model, but decided not to wait, and got this 9125 at the store instead. After 1 day of use (maybe 40 pages used) I did an HP update, that totally froze the internal software in the machine. My 'computer tech' told me it is a constant issue with HP, and never recommends updates. I returned it, and got a Brother thru Amazon

    Horrible hp service

Worked good until it didnt. Dealing with hp for printer under warranty is a nightmare. Said it would take until dec 3 to get a replacement printer unless i pd expedited shipping. I pd for that. Printer comes without printhead and since mine was stuck on the right they had to send a printhead and starter ink. That caame the day after. The printer wouldnt align, then it kept saying cartridges leaking. Had to call hp, and was on the phone 3 hrs and still no good. Was told they had to send out new head and cartridges. Thwy would expedite,. Im still waiting. Had to call again, 4 days later was told its still processing, to call back in 48 hrs. And it would be nice to talk to someone that you can understand, not broken unintelligible english.

WARNING: HP PRINTERS ARE THE WORST

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

NEVER buy an HP printer. It is the biggest headache I have ever had. There were so many issues with the setup-- most notably the ink cartridges-- and I had to return it. Literally horrible in all realms. Essentially: HP had a scam awhile ago because their printers were rigged to only use HP cartridges. The thing is, though, is that many of the printers don't even recognize HP cartridges. I have stayed on the phone for hours with HP personnel so that they could fix the issues that kept occurring with the cartridges being unrecognizable and apparently it's a very large issue. I strongly recommend buying from a different brand that isn't such a hassle.

    Bad setup issues

Stalled in setup. Can’t activate software, so I can’t access control screen on the Printer. HP support has been unhelpful on online chat or on phone chat (no callback). But here’s the odd thing: I am able to print from three devices; I can’t, however, use the control panel on the printer, so I won’t be able to use it as a copier. VERY unhappy with this product.

Not worth the plastic the printer is housed in. I am about to trash my third HP PRINTER. One minute it works perfectly, the next minute it crashes. Each time it's a different issue and no resolution possible, suggesting faulty software. Will not buy ever again
