Runs cool and mostly quiet. Not quite the amazing battery life I was looking for, and uncomfortable sharp corners where your wrists rest.

Very fast and powerful. Sometimes fan goes on and noisy. Beautiful lighted keyboard. I wish it would be lighter. Bought it for games.

Bought this for my son to replace his 4 year old Spectre. He is an engineering student, so he wanted something that could handle his school work as well as his entertainment. Graphic switching between onboard and dedicated chipset is unnoticeable. Video steaming is very smooth for both online classes and various streaming services. Applications load super fast (his words). I would highly recommend this laptop.

Pros: plays most triple A games at max or near max graphics with >60FPS. hardware feels solid, build feels solid. fan positioning makes it so there is no need for a cooling pad at all. built in cooling is more than sufficient. Cons: if you're playing with the laptop keyboard your wrists will rest on the sharp front edge when the fans kick in, they are really loud, but that is to be expected from this type of hardware no numpad

This laptop has been everything I hoped it would be. I did a ton of researching before settling on the AMD Ryzen 7 version over the intel 10th gen version and haven't been disappointed. The CPU performace had been great, the thermals are fantastic for a gaming laptop and the 1660Ti is perfectly fine for my use case. If you don't believe me, go watch one of the dozen reviews about this machine and find me a better bang for your buck.

Screen picture quality is pretty good. Fan noise is very loud, but allows for high performance gaming without excessive overheating or too much thermal throttling. I have experienced mild thermal throttling where the frame rate drops from 90-100 to 70-80 when playing Fortnite on defult epic settings. Fan noise is dramatically reduced with lower performance tasks. Speakers are okay, the fan noise tends to drown the speakers out when gaming. The laptop is suprisingly lightweight for a gaming laptop.

Got this computer as a media laptop for our youth room. Fast, sharp, clear. Love the tons of USB ports. Only con, HP needs to stop getting cute with their power button locations. It's on the upper right hand side in the keyboard. Not like outside near the keyboard, it's in with the rest of the keys. Everybody gotta be different I guess.

Been looking for a decent to amazing Ryzen based gaming laptop, it was between this and the Asus Tuf and a few others including Asus Strix and MSI Bravo. Out of all of them this has the best cooling and thermals I have seen and the vents and the cooling is very nice with this laptop. -Cons None as of yet, I will update this in the future if I experience any problems but at this time I have as of yet be disappointed.

The computer itself is amazing - and can run all my games and programs with ease. It also is quite good looking. However, my only complaint is that when I first purchased it a keycap just popped off of it, and Best Buy won't replace it because I didn't get Geek Squad Protection (Which, I will admit, is 100% my fault). Everything else is amazing. Would totally recommend this to a friend.

Great computer. I use it for school. I had some 3D imaging programs I use for virtual medical classes (think body world meets CAD) and it has worked great. Ive also played on steam and have not had issues, though I don't game for hours on end. Battery does drain pretty quickly if not plugged in though.

I am completely satisfied with this laptop. The lap top does get warm, I bought a fan for it which helps. It does not get extremely hot as I’ve read on other gaming laptops. I like that I can connect Ethernet wire to the lap top. Not a lot of gaming lap tops have it. I play for hours with no issues. I’ve had this lap top for almost 2 months and use it everyday. I highly recommend this lap top.

I haven't had it long enough to truly know the durability of the laptop, the upper screen, as most reviewers say, is a bit flimsy. But the keyboard deck is wonderful, the screen is bright enough, and it's incredibly powerful. I picked this laptop because of the keyboard design. I didn't want a non standardized laptop keyboard, wanted the TKL design I know too well, and it delivers on that front.

Got this on sale and let me say I would buy it full price. It runs perfectly out of the box. It has an amazing keyboard with an ok lighting software. There are bad reviews about the screen brightness but me and a couple friends all bought one and we have no issues. The best part of this laptop is the cooling, I can game all day on max settings and have no issue with heat. 11/10 recommend.

I bought this laptop on the recommendation of many positive YouTube videos and was pretty satisfied with the price to performance ratio. I would say the screen flex thing everyone talks about is really not an issue at all unless you're going to be throwing it in a backpack and compressing it. For everyone else using it at home or in a laptop bag I think there isn't anything to worry about. The adapter gets scuffed and scraped SUPER easily so be careful with it if that sort of thing bothers you. On carpet or soft surfaces you will be fine but tile and hardwood expect that plastic to show wear very quickly. As in under a week. And I'm careful with my electronics. Anyway I had to take the first one back because the screen was locked in at 100% brightness and couldn't be lowered. No driver update, no BIOS update or roll back, no Windows reset was able to fix it. Since it was still in the return window I brought it back for an exchange. The second laptop did not have this issue and gaming was smooth and problem free with cool temperatures for about two weeks. The laptop started spiking into 80+c while plugged in and over 100 while gaming, which is pretty much the opposite of what everyone says is supposed to happen with this laptop. So it's back in for warranty repair. Most of the reviewers seem pretty happy with it so my experience may just be bad luck. I have seen a few other people mention these issues here and there though so it's not just me. You might think its just a thermal paste issue but while plugged in the laptop would randomly boost all cores to Max and get above 80 for no reason before dropping back down while showing 1% usage. When unplugged this didn't happen. Changing the performance profiles in software settings didn't make any difference. Hopefully HP will be able to sort out the problem, but it'll be a few weeks before I find out. When it works the keyboard lighting is nice, the cpu is fast and powerful, and the laptop ran quite cool during gaming.
