Pretty fast processor, great for school and some light gaming on the side

good laptop but didnt get an email for game bundle 2020 CQ3 AMD RYZEN GAME BUNDLE

I was given this during the black friday deal (I think it was under $1000 at the time) and as my first gaming laptop, it performs better than expected. Understand, I don't buy computers often (maybe 5-6 years), looking for longevity (something that was top spec mid-range now that'll be decent by 5 years standard), under $1000 and needed something to replace my old one that was physically breaking apart. Prior to the sale, I was looking at the HP Pavillion 16.1 and I'm sure that would've done nicely as well. Pros: - Good looking screen and 144hz refresh rate is amazing. - Keyboard has a nice feel to them. - Never knew how useful backlit keys were until I used this at night. - Storage read and write is super fast. - Has a decent amount of ports. - On regular usage, it is quiet. During gaming sessions, it's not too loud but I would recommend headphones to mask it. - Quality of the build is excellent. Cons: - The placement of the power button is a little odd. - It's a little heavier than I would like. - There will be smudges where the wrist area every time you type. Easy to wipe but I would recommend putting some kind of cover or use an external keyboard. - I miss having a number pad (but that's just me) If you find it on sale, definitely go for it but as of now ($1350 on 03/16/2021) maybe look for other options like that HP I mention

Its a great gaming computer for my teenage son. Hes had for about 4 years and never had any issues besides needing to get afan for it because hes always using it. Definitely worth the money so far.

I ordered the computer over a month ago and yet to recieve it.

it cut of and on by itself and get very hot like burning

This laptop has so much potential but falls short in many areas. Processor: 4800H - Incredibly fast. 10/10 GPU: 1660 ti - For this price, I would expect an RTX 2060. But, I don't play video games often, so I don't mind. 7/10 Keyboard: It's just decent. 8/10 Mouse: I don't prefer this texture, but other people are okay with it. 8/10 Screen: I compared this to my Dell XPS, it has a 4K 60fps IPS d. I display. I prefer the XPS screen because I'm not gaming, but others would prefer this 1080p 144hz screen. 9/10 SSD/RAM - Both are satisfactory for the price. 10/10 Thermals - I haven't had any issues with the laptop overheating. Under normal use, the fans are not loud. 10/10 Battery: Terrible! It does not last me a full day, or even half a day. 5/10 Charging: HP included a decent 200w charger, but this uses their old proprietary charging port instead of USB-C. Very unhappy about this. 4/10 Webcam - Abysmal, the worst camera I have ever used. 1/10 Speakers - Also afoul. 5/10 Overall - Personally, I would rather pay an extra $100-200 to push this laptop from 8/10 to 10/10.

Been using it for about 3 years, played genshin, honkai starrail on it. Relatively good. can be pretty heavy on teh back if you're carrying it for about 2-3 hrs, which I think can be expected. But yeah I used to often travel on teh weekends back from college to home, so that's my take on it

This laptop was a breath of fresh air coming from someone that used to use a 2016 Dell Inspiron that took a good two minutes to boot up. The webcam is great, the build quality is very good, and thermals are incredible (though they can get quite loud). The laptop doesn't have any of the flashy futuristic looking bits on it, which I like very much. The keyboard back lighting is very bright and easy to see, and there are four zones that you can customize (wasd, esc-F5, F6-F12, and the power button-arrow keys) with nearly any color of choice. the speakers sound very clear and have good bass if you're looking for that. For the gaming side, I'm pretty sure someone has put a benchmark in a review, so look for that. The laptop is on the slightly bulkier side, though I'm used to the weight considering it's the same as my old laptop. All in all, the HP OMEN 15.6 is an amazing all-around laptop for the price.

First of all. I am not a Gamer. I bought the PC for Geographic Information Systems Software as I had previously purchased the HP Pavillion 15-DK005 wm last year. That laptop was amazing for the price and I decided to give it to my wife and buy this one. Man, am I impressed with this machine. It handles EVERYTHING with ease. No issues, slick design and a real beast. My son is a gamer primarly on the XBOX one and uses it to play games occassionally and he stated it is almost flawless as a gaming machine. HP has really stepped up their game the last few years and I will continue to buy their products. This particular machine is a Grand Slam; price, features, performance-Excellent!!

Great Laptop, served me well for 4 1/2 years. Still runs most modern games fairly well

The laptop felt premium and it ran games at a decent quality. You can run gta V online with no problems.

I will start this by saying I did not get this for gaming although I have done a bit since receiving it. Visually it is definitely worthwhile and overall it gets the job done. A couple issues I have had would be that since receiving it, the laptop has frozen a few times and needed a forced restart but there could be many underlying reasons for that given the number of updates I have gone through with it so far. Another issue I have is the lack of the side number keypad, as the setup currently could have possibly included it, it is something I prefer in my laptops. Also, the trackpad can be cumbersome when trying to differentiate between a regular click and right-click, especially if you are trying to drag and drop or in other similar situations. Overall, this laptop is definitely a powerhouse for whatever you could want to use it for and worth the investment in my opinion. I am glad to have had the opportunity to test it out and review it as it is both esthetically pleasing thanks to the backlit keyboard and slim design and small enough to carry in a large purse or tote so traveling with it has been a breeze.

Graphics are amazing. This is the best gaming laptop I've ever had the pleasure of using.

Pros: Glad I decided to take the plunge on this laptop because it is one of the better ones I've ever owned. I'm coming off an MSI GS63 which served me well but was starting to show its' age. I wanted this laptop specifically for the Ryzen 7 4800H which is hard to find on laptops but definitely worth it. The Ryzen 7 4800H is an absolute beast of a laptop CPU and actually fares comparably to a desktop Ryzen 3600X and that's something that hasn't been done in the laptop CPU world. It should be used on more laptops. The screen is gorgeous. I watched an episode of Archer on it and it looked better than my TV, almost surreal in fact. You also get dual channel RAM as opposed to the single stick most laptop manufacturers include. And it can be upgraded all the way to 32GB DDR4-3200. Adding a second SSD wasn't nearly as difficult as I would have anticipated after my last laptop (MSI) made nearly any sort of upgrading or repairing difficult to next to impossible. With this laptop all I had to do was unscrew all the screws and pop the cover off, and that was it. I added a 1TB WD Black SN750 and that was worth the effort. Cons: No 10 key keypad, and after my last two laptops I had that had one, it takes some getting used to. Fans can get quite loud under heavy CPU load. HP's included A/C adapter weighs almost as much as the laptop itself and is very cheaply made. Even if you acquire another one, it's still the same adapter. Overall: Very pleased with this purchase. It took me a while to decide but this laptop had everything I wanted and I would definitely recommend it.

My last computer burnt out on me and I was in the market for a new one, and I stumbled upon this one. My grandpa purchased it for me, and all I can say is WOW. It is amazing! It's super fast and looks great! I think it is perfect for the price, as well as its look. My only issue is the touchpad, it is awful, it gets stuck on tabs and it's difficult to use. If you want this computer, get yourself a mouse, it will make it so much better!
