This is a good laptop, it’s great for gaming but I won’t lie it’s loud

I bought this laptop late July for my upcoming college semester because I needed something with great components to be able to run my CAD software and maybe do some light gaming. The laptop was working pretty well up until it ran out of battery life. I plugged it into the charger assuming everything was fine and didn't touch it for about a day. I come back when I need it the most and all of a sudden it wont turn on. I pressed the power button and the LED indicator would turn on but then immediately turn off. I disassembled the laptop thinking I could find the issue thinking it was a bad battery but unfortunately that wasn't the case. I removed the installed battery and plugged in the charger to the computer to see if anything would run but not even that was the issue. After doing some extensive research I figured out it was a motherboard issue and that I needed to replace it. Not wanting to throw out an extra $300-$400 for the replaceable motherboard I took it into my local BestBuy geek squad since it was still on warranty and assuming they could fix it. After about 4-ish weeks (Took it in on November 5th and finally got some feedback on December 4th). Geek squad told me it was unfixable and they would not be returning the product to me. Fortunately before they took it I asked them to backup my data onto a spare hard drive that I had. Overall this laptop ran pretty good, the only downside to the great performance was that on occasion if the CPU/GPU got too hot the fans would get extremely loud

I bought the HP Omen 2 weeks ago for music production. It works very well for it and I've not yet had any issues. I'm also able to mix at a low buffer.

I got this laptop for my birthday and its the best purchase I believe I made course I spoke to a Best Buy rep before buying and I love it!!!!!!!!!!!!

Pros temps looks performance thermals (never went over 80 while gaming (cpu) and 65 (gpu) (control) cons the screen flex isn't particularly an issue. just it makes this laptop feel a little fragile Fan noise is SO overrated, my fans never ramp up on idle, it is quite loud on max fans but if u hate it don't use max fans what would u prefer? bad thermals and quiet fan or good thermals and loud fan? screen is pretty good, speakers are loud enough, I have heard some skus have brightness control problem but mine didnt

These laptops have defective keyboards. After a while, the X and R keys will stop working. I bought my laptop in to be fixed and the laptop keys stopped working again. For how expensive this computer is, I expect better quality. Would not recommend.

I bought this laptop in December 2020 and it worked great for awhile aside from how insanely hot and loud it is, but like most everyone else who bought it, the keyboard starts acting up and certain keys will completely stop working, especially if you plan to use WASD a lot. A replacement keyboard is only a temporary fix as well. And dont let it die either because it will be unusably slow until you spend 30 minutes taking the battery out and putting it back in. I had a laptop that was literally falling apart at the hinges but still worked 10x better than this one.

I was looking so forward to the Omen. Ordered it and had it delivered. Plugged it in, started it up, went through the standard Win 10 setup, and... it locks up. Reboot, log-in, and... the screen goes blank. Reboot and the same thing. After a couple more blank screens and lock ups I get some drivers installed hoping it is just a driver issue. Nope still issues. At some point I was able to download and set up USB back up since I planned to return it. Took me 4 attempts to refresh it to factory due to lock ups. Finally, after refreshing it I figured I would give it one more try. Booted up, ran through Windows setup, and seemed to work great. Then it locked up. Ended up taking it back. So disappointed in it. Really wanted to keep it. I didn't want to take it back.
