I use this for travel or to play away from my main rig, so I went in with the expectation it wouldn't compare to my main setup. However...
I've been pleasantly surprised at how great this laptop is. The screen refresh rate is great and I can always maintain a high FPS (even in COD:MW). I play a lot of MMOs as well and everything runs smoothly even after hours on end. I would recommend setting the fans to 'performance' mode if you're going to be gaming. That means they can get loud, and they will get LOUD. Honestly, it isn't that bad though. I can play in bed and the noise isn't enough to wake my partner up. I've never even felt the machine get hot because the cooling is so good.
The lights on the keyboard are adjustable in sections. There is a left, middle, and right section that you can change. It's a good tool to add some customization.
The shell is slick and professional and you would never be able to tell it was a gaming laptop unless you had an eye for the exhaust vents. The sleekness coupled with the fact that the RGB can be turned off means it can be used in the office, public, etc. and you won't be drawing any major attention to the fact you're gaming.
The only other suggestion I would make is to get a lap desk if you aren't going to play on an actual desk. It needs to be on a hard surface for all the vents to work to their full potential.
I also do some programming and music editing- it holds up to everything I've thrown at it so far!

I upgraded to this Oman gaming pc from my 2012 inspiron 17r and this computer is so fast and efficient I don't know what to do with all the saved time. The graphics are good love the Oman command center the wifi card is excellent. The only downside is the fan is really loud. Love everything else definitely recommend this laptop

Thermals are great!
I get around 30-35 C idle, and around 45-74C during heavy load for the CPU. GPU runs even cooler around 40-60C when gaming.
The Design is very sleek looking and looks really nice. Although, the color isn't really silver. It's more of a gray color. The only problem is the plastic lid. If not used with care, you might damage it, so be wary of it.
Some say that the keyboard feels "cheap", but in my opinion, I'd say I like it better than the previous laptops that I owned.

I bought it for my son who wanted to play Fortnite, Gershin Impact, it worked great, surfing on web was fast too. The first impression on the laptop was it looked sophisticated and keyboard was very smooth. When it was in light use, it was quite; when the fan ran, it was loud. He said there was no laggy when he played those game. He was happy with it .

Got it with a discount so its price-to-value ratio went up! The Ryzen model has a lower GPU tho so if gaming is your priority, get the Intel one instead. I also went for the 16GB and 1TB SSD model too for a bit more price since 8GB and 256GB won't work for me.
Powerful yet cool laptop (you can also manually max the fan). Works for me since I don't like overheating laptops.

I am more than happy with this laptop. Could due without the extra bloatware but easy to uninstall. Great performance on AAA games, and this laptop know how to stay cool! My Asus g14 gets hot to the touch after 10 minutes of gaming. Not this one. Omen has done its cooling system right. Charger on the other hand does get hot but that's the same on my Asus. Great product!

The HP Omen with the AMD Ryzen 7 processor and 1660Ti graphics card is one of the best gaming laptop computers at this price point. The laptop is aesthetically nice looking. It has a good sized 1TB SSD and 16GB of included RAM that allows the computer to boot to the Windows logon screen within a few seconds, and allows it to runs games and other applications all at once with no impact on performance. There is hardly any bloatware pre-installed on the laptop that allows it to operate quickly and efficiently out of the box. The performance of the laptop is smooth and quick. Applications and games load quickly, and I have not seen any issues with slow down or lag when using high resource consuming applications or playing games. It is a highly capable gaming laptop. The graphics settings on every game that I have run on it has been set to high or ultra, and this laptop handles it with ease with no drop in FPS rate and no lag. The laptop has a good cooling solution and, even while gaming, it doesn’t get too hot. For the most part, the fans only kicked on in high with intense gaming. You can definitely hear the cooling fans, but not so loud as to distract you. The graphics on the laptop display are sharp and detailed with nice clean colors on the screen. The backlit keyboard is very well done. The typing keys are reactive and rebound quite well with no sticking of the keys. The touch pad is also very responsive and is a nice size. I was able to get network speeds that are equivalent to my wired connections with the included wireless-AX network card. Bluetooth also functions very well, and it has good sound for a laptop. Overall, I am pleased with this laptop and recommend it. It is a powerful laptop that can handle anything that you can throw at it, and is versatile enough that it can be used for both work and gaming.

Over all a good laptop.
There doesn't appear there is a way to make the keyboard go off and on with use but has a hotkey.
It's a good speed and while it can get hot, the fan cools it quickly and I'm not a person bothered by fan noise. I've worked in a server room so it's fine. The screen is sharp and clear as well. Movies and image look great on it. I am looking forward to having this for a long while.

I really enjoyed this computer, I mainly bought this to play World of Warcraft and my office stuff, writing stories etc, but I wanted something strong enough to enjoy playing games and to be practical.
The only downfall about this computer is, there is no side number keypad nor a disc slot, I’m so use to one, but I was aware when I bought it. But in all honesty, I got pretty use to without having it now. Basically anything you want to buy or download, just have to be digital with it, but that’s okay for me. I hate storing hard copies of Discs in general. I still choose to give it five stars. It’s lightweight and not bulky at all and it gets the job done, I’m very impressed. I really enjoy the backlight, especially when all the rainbow colors are on at the same time. Just adds nicely to it. Great for at night to when you don’t feel like getting up and turning the lights on. Lol, lazy mode. It works!
But in all honesty. I play World of Warcraft and I can play it on the highest game setting with very little lag, but I choose to play it on high setting, I feel like I get great graphics regardless and no lag.
I am not a hardcore gamer, but I definitely love to play stuff and be practical about my computer, it’s been perfect for me.

I've owned this laptop for 3 weeks and I love it. Highly, highly, recommend it.
I previously used a dell xps 14z (from 9 years ago!). Originally, my heart was dead set on getting the new dell xps 15, Razer 15, or HP Spectre 15. I just wanted something with premium build quality that I could use for productivity/business that could last as long as my old laptop.
However, after ordering the dell xps 15 twice and returning 2 defective laptops... I realized, there's no such thing as a perfect laptop, even from a company as reputable as Dell.
I snatched the HP Omen when it went on sale for $950.
I take this to and from work every day. Build quality, design, function, value is amazing.
Highly recommend a fresh install of windows from external USB to wipe out all bloatware. This was my first time trying, and it is actually pretty easy! If I can do it, you can. Don't let that scare you from buying it!

Pros:
- Blazing fast CPU. Best score with Cinebenche R20 is 4574. I tested it again few weeks later and it never achieve that number again though. Usually around 4300-4400.
- Great thermal: played some medium-light gaming (Dota2 12v12) and temperature was almost always below 80C. The only time it went up to 94C was when the game ended and it needed some garbage collecting I guess. I measure with CoreTemp which is somewhat not 100% accurate for this Ryzen 4800H (about +-5C different with Omen Command Center).
- Great screen: 144Hz, 100% sRGB, beautiful colors.
- Decent GPU. IMO if you want better gaming PC then go build a desktop. 1660 Ti is kind of a good balance between thermal and power on a laptop.
- Doesn't look like a gaming laptop at all.
Mehs:
- Touchpad is not balance: it is somewhat lower in the bottom right corner. But it works well.
- The sides are a little sharp.
- Has FreeSync but I read somewhere that says it only works with 50-60Hz.
Cons:
- Battery doesn't have option to charge up to 80% in the BIOS. It always charges to 100%, which is not great for battery health.
- Weird Delete key placement in keyboard. I have to change registry to make Pause key Delete key.

Got this for my wife who does a lot of photo editing and she absolutely loves it. Searched extensively for a laptop that had the right combination of speed, storage, display and didn't cost a million bucks. None of that mattered in the end because the back-lit keyboard with a range of lighting patterns is what made it a hit with her lol.

Absolutely amazing. Amazing CPU and GPU. Lighting fast when editing and coding, and beautiful quality when gaming and rendering. RAM is right at the sweet spot and the SSD is amazing. Amazing rgb options as well/ Only downside is that the fans might get loud once in a while. Very rarely do they interfere though.

This is a sturdy and great student laptop. It has both power and storage for all online college requirements, fast toggling and is really one of the best gaming products (for a laptop) on the market. I think for the price, it even beats the number one gaming laptop on the market.
I'd recommend it without hesitation.

This was my first pc and I absolutely love it. I got it for $950 on black friday 2020. Its sounds like a jet engine when playing games but that can fixed by wearing headphones. Its very fast and can handle downloading many many games. It can run cod, cyberpunk, dead by daylight, and warframe amazingly.

First, I was somewhat reluctant in purchasing a Hewlett Packard laptop. I have owned and have used HP computers at work and even though I have found them very reliable PC's, they were not top performance PC's for the money, based on my past experience. I did NOT want an Intel processor in a new computer, as I have had better performance with AMD processors. This was a somewhat limiting factor in my search. After 6 weeks, I have been pleasantly surprised in the performance of this laptop! In addition, HP technical support was better than I had remembered it being in the past. I provided HP with my receipt from Best Buy for any potential future warranty service and had them ship me a thumb drive, should I ever need to reinstall or recover my O/S. All my warranty issues were answered in one call and the thumb drive with the recovery media arrived within 3 business days. HP has made me a believer in their desire to provide excellent customer service. This laptop exceeds my expectations thus far!

This gaming computer is exceptional in every way with the exception of the McAffee virus protection which was auto installed. This computer has a nice video card and clear display. The lighted keyboard is a nice feature. The build quality seems good and should hold up to all of my favorite games.

I absolutely love this laptop. I started with the i7 intel version and it stopped working. I was going to exchange it for the same Laptop but heard great things about AMD. Let me just say I LOVE IT!!! And with 1tb on board I don’t need to upgrade the solid state drive. This was the best PC experience I’ve had.

I’ve had this laptop for about a month, all the earlier reviews have been pretty spot on. I’m not trying to play Cyberpunk or any of the newest games on it, but it has handled everything I’ve tried so far with out breaking a sweat (Fortnite, Minecraft, Hearthstone, mmorpgs). The 1TB ssd storage makes sure Windows loads stupid fast, plenty of ram to keep a browser up with my work email while I play games on a second monitor while I telework. I’m using mostly as a replacement for my old desktop, so external keyboard and mouse, but I like having the option to unplug everything and go watch Netflix somewhere else.
Now the cons, only a few, but I’ll agree with others that the screen feels a bit flimsy, I would be hesitant to use it for taking notes in school or constantly carrying it around. The front edge where you rest when using the keyboard is a bit sharp, and the integrated buttons on the track pad are not my favorite.
Overall I’m very happy with it so far, and it was a great Black Friday price too
