This computer was meant as a versatile pc that can handle everyday coding, and gaming. This computer has exceeded my expectations. It’s a great price, and runs like a dream for everything.

I have had this laptop for 2 months. I mainly work with graphics and 3d software, so the performance has been too good. The render speed is amazing, without any thermal issues. Screen resolution and colours were my main concern coming from a Macbook user but this is just beautiful. I think a good speaker would be cherry on the top but that is a problem with most of the gaming laptops. I don't have a whole lot of knowledge about computers but I can definitely recommend this laptop for multitasking and graphics-based work.

I was looking for a new laptop but not really looking for a gaming one. I came across this Omen 15 as an open box and was curious. An associate named J.T. let me take a look at it and it was in great condition. The power unit was scratched up a little but otherwise in perfect working order. After a month of use I can say, WOW! This thing is perfectly capable of playing GTA 5 and pretty much any other game you can throw at it! Keep in mind that this review is for the AMD version. There is also an Intel model but I specifically choose this for the Ryzen 7 and the Nvidia 1660Ti is quite the workhorse! Excellent redesign as well! Great Job HP!

Fast, quiet and well built. At the price, an excellent value. I like it, and I've been using and building computers since 1981. Only minor issue is that it lacks a keypad.

I am not very experienced with advanced technology and I do not fully understand PC gaming yet. I got this as an impulse buy as a Console gamer that desperately just needed a new laptop after college and I figured why not get one that also plays games. I think this is a great first gaming laptop for me and I believe many other beginners out there would agree! It is worth the extra money and definitely spring for the 16GB Ram and 1TB SSD compared to the 8GB Ram. This is an awesome laptop and I cannot wait to find out its true potential and play some awesome games. Looking forward to Cyberpunk 2077!

Going into the purchase, the store clerks were weary of me buying this due to the model apparently having a very flexible screen. I have seen that mentioned in a lot of online reviews of laptops in generally, and coming from a laptop where the entire thing closed could be flexed, I don't think that this laptop has a flex issue at all. The ryzen 7 completely keeps up with my CAD tasks, and although I would have preferred a beefier graphics card like the intel options have of this line, I feel like the 1660 ti still holds its own across different use cases (like gaming as well, DBD has never looked better)!

Fast processor and graphics. Very good value for the speed of this computer. Cooling fans come on regularly when playing intense games but it’s not disturbing at all.

Great specs, solid build. No issues - working the way I wanted. Used primarily for office apps and video/audio editing. Fast and comfortable to work on.

I dont use this for gaming. But it runs everything i need super fast. The build quantity is excellent and the display is crisp and clear.

Got it on Black Friday with 1tb ssd and 16gb dual ram 1660tj for 950$ was definitely a Great price runs Apex at 150+ FPS and Fn at 250+

I was in the market for a new laptop during thanksgiving holiday time and wanted something with a bit more kick than my previous MSI laptop which is 6 years old. I am 100% pleased with my purchase, I contemplated exchanging this for an Omen 15 with the RTX 2060 - however I did not and I am so happy as I was able to get the Ryzen 4800h CPU + GTX 1660ti + 1TB SSD (Which you can upgrade further via a 2nd unused slot) + 16GB of RAM (also upgradable). Using this as my daily driver I noticed the following as I dusted off my Steam library and even ran Cyberpunk 2077 on this achieving a solid looking game at ~50fps (at 1440p Resolution) via a mix of medium settings. You would think a GTX 1660ti may not be the best choice for a 144hz Acer 2K VG27UP monitor, however through the use of the USB-C port and a USB-C to Display Port cable - I have been enjoying games at Ultra settings with 60 FPS at 2k (Very playable and fun) with titles set at ULTRA including: Far Cry 5, MGS: Phantom Pain, the Witcher 3 + both expansions, among many more. With that being said alone, in the current state of the market, if you simply wish to upgrade from an older laptop - HP Omen 15 with these specs will blow you away (I came from an MSI laptop which had a GTX 970m GPU so the difference was phenomenal for me) Let's not forget about the SSD -> Which is incredibly fast and provides a start-up that occurs in the blink of your eye. The only drawback is the keyboard, however some find it enjoyable - I'll stick with my Corsair k70 but it does have 4 zone backlighting which can be controlled via the Omen Command Center - which also allows for changes across the fan speeds and Performance, Default, or Comfortable mode. (I stick with Performance mode) The Fans - I love them as the heat dissipation on this laptop is kind of mind blowing and also VERY LOUD if you intend to play games at Ultra and/or 2k Resolution. While browsing/chilling, the fans are virtually silent. I don't mind the Fan noise, but I would highly recommend a Headset for gaming to avoid this disruption. I watched several review videos on youtube and was deciding between this and the Legion 5 - after using both, the HP Omen 15 with the Ryzen 7 + 1660 ti combo is the winner and I hope to use this laptop for a very long time. P.S. it is very easy to upgrade both the SSD and RAM, many videos are out showcasing this as well. Please enjoy friends!

This was the purchase of a laptop, to replace my daughter's laptop. I was beyond happy with our experience. Her old laptop was still under a warranty, so we went thru the Geek Squad, first, for them to look at her existing laptop. We received excellent help from the Geek Squad. It was determined that the laptop would be replaced with a new one. She has recently been doing a lot of gaming and wanted a more gaming-centric laptop . She has been really pleased with this laptop. The performance is excellent and she is quite happy.

If you don’t like loud fans don’t buy it but, for me I’m 80% of the time with the headsets on so, it’s not a problem. Why 80? Because I also watch movies and it’s a good screen (it doesn’t have black equalizer ) its speakers are not the best but decent (of course they’re not going to sound while you what a movie), full rgb keyboard, nice trackpad, battery.. 4 to 5 depends on your use (plug it before playing and it’ll give you the best performance), buy a wireless mouse and headset of your choice and enjoy the most semi-perfect 1000+$ the money can get you.

Love it just got mines today. My first a gaming laptop been waiting till they got more of them just as I expected so worth it.

Incredible laptop for the price, I would buy it again in a heart beat. I’m able to play forza horizon 4 on 72 fps and high to ultra settings.

I bought this laptop for my son and he absolutely loves it. He uses it for gaming and school. He loves the speed and performance.

Been running fine since purchases November 2020 (now it's late Feb 2021). Games that I do play, run fine. Productivity is great, very responsive. No issues with Zoom and the AMD drivers. Our other HP laptop with Ryzen has had issues with AMD hd audio driver and zoom, but I've no issues with this Omen 15 machine. I use an external wireless keyboard/mouse, so I can't say much about the keyboard/touchpad quality, seem okay. I run an external display through hdmi and i've had no issues with that, works great.

This computer is amazing! It looks great, performs great, and handles games extremely well! Literally the only things I can "complain" about is the fans are a bit loud when on max or running high for higher intensity games(only a minor issue to me), and the front edge of the computer can feel sharp when you're resting your hands. It's made the edges of my hands rather sore when web scrolling with the trackpad but I think this can be remedied easily with a wrist rest pushed up against the laptop edge.

Love it. HP needs to work on their QC a bit, had some hardware failures that required replacement, but otherwise very happy. Runs Linux well.
