Great laptop, having load of fun with it. Gets hot (of course is a gaming laptop) so I’d suggest a fan dock.

    Long review but Fantastic laptop

This computer is excellent. The only reason that I gave it four stars was because I could not get a version with the 17" monitor. I utilize this primarily for programming/coding; Which means I will have to buy one at a later time. I have had this laptop for about 2.5 months now. I bought this computer because my previous one didn't have enough processing or memory power to run my college programs. MS Visual Studio 2019, MS Project Manager, MySql, etc. As for gaming this product is excellent. It has the dedicated RTX 2060 w/ 6g VRam. This along with my computers processor & 16g Ram allows me to play virtually any game @ Ultra settings. Most intensive so far is Rise of the Tomb Raider, to include Ray Tracing & Eye tracking via the camera. Lastly I got this computer at a fantastic price, $1200 vs the normal $1450 price tag. I was NOT originally looking for a GAMING computer, however with the shortage caused by the pandemic, this was actually my cheapest option that had the power I needed to work.

    Good but overheats easily

Great gaming laptop for the price. Normally I avoid HP products as, working in the tech industry, I see more issues with HP than most other brands. However, I couldn't pass up this deal and at least give it a shot. I have one complaint. I noticed the first time I turned it on, the fan immediately kicked into overdrive and the whole PC seemed like it overheated. I was able to rectify this by changing some settings. It still seems to do this while gaming with certain games. Definitely recommend when using it, prop it up, and invest in a cooling pad for this one as it seems that HP could have put a little more effort into the cooling system.

Not what its hyped up to be. Maybe its because I barely use it. However, the ram is already shot. I have an old acer pc that I use for everyday use from 2010 and that thing still works. Only had to replace power cord.

You wont' find another laptop with such a good CPU and decent GPU slapped together for this price. But that's definitely what it feels like..."slapped together." You can play most games, high to ultra settings with no significant dip in frame rate, and often times keeping frames way above 60. But you won't ever do this, and you won't play games at all really with this Gaming Laptop, because the CPU temps hang around 80c to 90c...and sometimes even spike into the upper 90s. For those who don't know, that's way too hot and will likely shave a year or two off the lifespan of this product (if not flat out fry it during a long session) Adjusting the graphics settings in-game won't bring down the heat enough (I played a modern game on the lowest settings and got 87c). Adjusting the CPU power settings so it won't go into turbo mode also won't bring down the temps. Putting fans on max won't do it. Buying a cooling pad with 5 fans will also not bring down these temps. I kept the laptop far past the return date, and I wish I hadn't. You can get a desktop PC with the same specs for the same price (even better specs, actually) or even another gaming laptop with similar specs. If you don't plan on gaming, it's a hearty laptop with some power behind it. But i don't know what you'd use that power for if not games or 3D creation software.

    Fantastic laptop with QC issues

I received this laptop as a gift nearly two months ago and was thrilled. It’s a phenomenal laptop in most ways. Performance is excellent. I can run most games I enjoy at 60+ FPS with no issues while the temps stay below 80c. I have played Outer Worlds, Dishonored 2, Genshin Impact and State of Decay 2 with no complaints other than the fan noise getting somewhat loud. Battery is better than I expected. I’ve gotten at least 5 hours out of it when just doing homework and YouTube. The screen is gorgeous, and I’ve had no issues here. Where the issue comes in is with the keyboard. The layout is great and typing in it feels great. Unfortunately for me, I didn’t realize until after return period that it has GHOSTING. Yes, this anti ghosting gaming laptop keyboard has ghosting. Sometimes while holding down the W key and pressing other keys, my character while stop walking, meaning the W key stops responding. Key combinations like holding i, then o, then n will cause the n key to not register. Same with y+u+b combination. This issue is heartbreaking for me as I love this laptop, but this issue is a big downside for a gaming laptop. I would return it if I could, but I noticed the problem after the return period. I cannot in good conscience recommend this laptop until HP addresses this issue properly. I hope no one buys this laptop and gets stuck with an issue like this

This laptop works great, but the fact it get REALLY hot at times is alarming. If they can fix that then this laptop would be 5 stars.

So I bought this Laptop for College so I could still play games on it, but about a week after I bought it, the fan started making this awful sound. Sometimes it makes a squeaking sound, other times it sounds like the fan is hitting something hard. If you buy this laptop expect it to drive you crazy. Would not buy this again!!
