I've never ever had complains about tech, especially laptops. I bought this crap to replace my 2012 dell 15r se 7520 only because I burnt gpu down with diablo IV and started getting bluescreen which leads to win reinstall only. Getting back to omen... flaws: 1. all plastic. 2. win 11 but they all have it. 3. uncomfortable keyboard in my opinion (keys, pressing, etc) 4. no FN lock, only from bios 5. no Numpad keys. really? on a 16" laptop? 6. power button being a simple key between F12 and delete. Engineers are crazy! 7-8. read comments about wifi cutting off the speed. Tested - everything was fine, 500 mbps, ~20 ping. Was impressed. But after I set up the laptop and gave it a restart I was prompted to enter the pin - the moment I started it went on reboot.. fine. After the restart pin issue had gone but wifi didn't pick up on its own. I gave it a moment - nothing. I've tried to bounce (disabling/enabling) it hoping it picks up, but no. I tried it manually - nothing happened. I've tried to forget the network and reconnect providing password again - succeeded after a second attempt. Restarted a couple times - wifi worked fine but speed was 200 mbps. Im not complaining since everything is 50+ is fine with me but... how? why? I've also tried to shut down and start up the laptop - wifi was good so far, but i guess its a matter of time when it mess me up. very unreliable. 9. font on the keyboard is weird - what are those R, K and 5 symbols??? 10. Best Buy! I bought this laptop 1/31/24, should've been delivered on 02/02 - delivery was running late and happened the next day, on the 3rd of Feb, which left me wo a laptop on the weekend while traveling. Today is the end of 2/4 when I spent a couple hours playing around it, writing a review and best buy says I can return it back till 18th of Feb. What why??? why is it not 30 days? why counting started from the order day and not the delivery one? i'll probably keep the laptop for a couple more days for sake of curiosity testing other stuff that I need while looking for another brand. Giving the fact I kept my previous laptop for 11 years I need something comfier and more expensive like dell alienware

    16.1” Omen laptop review

So far my child reports that the laptop is on high performance and he says the cooling system is better than other laptops that he had in the past. I saw that the brightness was a little bit dimmer then his previous laptop. We don’t know if that’s HP purpose. How long the battery life will be in the long run, I don’t know yet, so I bought a separate cooling fan to help it just in case. Overall, the laptop is on great performance, Users can customize the internals of the laptop just by clicking on a app pre downloaded onto the laptop. The laptop has a lot of storage ( almost 1 TB) . He definitely recommends this to people that study and play games..

I love this laptop. I only bought it to play one game, The Sims. I love everything about the laptop from its storage, to speed and graphics. I even enjoy the colors of the keyboard. The only reason I am giving this review 4 stars is because I do not like how hot it gets so quickly. I did read reviews before my purchase and did anticipate it to get hot. I just didn’t expect it to shut down my computer in the middle of using it. So, I will be purchasing a laptop fan. Other than that, 10/10.

This is my first dip into the PC world of gaming. So one year later I can honestly say it’s a pretty awesome gaming laptop! Most of the games I play on here runs almost like a dream. I can play pretty much any games on here like Ready or Not or Resident Evil 4 on high and ultra settings and not experience too much problems. Now it does have some hiccups. The battery life is pretty bad. The laptop sometimes overheats when you’re playing games or just doing work. The installing sometimes takes longer than expected. But overall this is a very solid laptop. I really recommend it but maybe wait for a sale drop if you’re on a budget.

I was stoked to get this wonderful device at a discounted price. I'm happy with this product because not many gaming laptops are future proof, but this Omen 16 has a few parts that I can upgrade, add, or replace such as additional RAM. The only issue I've had so far (it's been a week) is that the Nvidia driver wouldn't auto update. However, a GeForce app comes pre-installed and I could update drivers right through that app. I won't lie. I bought this laptop to play Diablo IV on. I saw another review, on the HP Omen 16 i5, and that guy said he could run it just fine. I've had the same experience. Diablo 4 is a new, 2023 release. It's energy, graphic, and power-demanding, and this laptop handles it well. The laptop has some powerful built in fans to keep it cool when running intensive tasks. I've also ran DaVinci Resolve on this laptop. Resolve is a powerful video editing app that industry-level creators use for post-production in cinema (the program has won an Emmy). This program demands a powerful machine to use it and the HP Omen lives up to the task. With that being said, it should be able to run an Adobe editing software or music making softwares just as well. The screen is a bit dimmer than I'd like (there are better screens for content creation) but it's great enough to finish any task. The laptop comes in a box that doesn't seem to protect it as much as it does (trust me, when you open it, you'll see). The laptop has a matte black finish, which is premium but also a fingerprint MAGNET. The keyboard is amazing and you can choose what colors each section glows using the Omen app (along with a bunch of other cool settings!) Overall this is an amazing device and I can't wait to see what I can create with it!

A dream machine for video editing

My 4 year old HP Omen gaming laptop (which I use for video editing rather than gaming) still works fine, but it's a 9th generation Intel chip and I was ready to upgrade to a 13th generation Intel chip. This HP Omen 16 is 16" which is a bit smaller than my 17" Omen 17 but I hardly notice a difference. The new laptop is a great machine--more cores and threads than my other laptop. It came with 16GB RAM which I immediately upgraded to 64GB RAM (and it was very easy--just removing 8 screws from the bottom). The HP Omen 16 has exceeded my expectations. Great Passmark scores. It churns out anything I throw at it and QUICK! I like the LED color scheme of the keyboard (makes it easy to work at night). The included Samsung 1TB SSD scored in the 99th percentile on Passmark. It's VERY easy to upgrade components such as RAM and hard drive but make sure you are very careful as the 8 screws that need to be removed to open the bottom are really, really tiny. It's noticeably thinner than my old laptop and would be easy to transport (which I don't). If you do photo editing, video editing, content creation, etc. this laptop will meet your needs and then some. It has 4 USB ports (3 superspeed regular USB ports and 1 superspeed USB-C port). The Wifi card is generation 6e which gave me an immediate bump on internet download speeds (I was getting about 400 mbps on my old laptop and now I'm getting over 500 mbps) without making any changes to my isp plan or my router. I can't speak to gaming as I'm not a gamer. Overall it's a great machine and I'm very happy with my purchase (especially since it was on sale).

This laptop is a huge upgrade form my last laptop a 2012 Macbook pro. Does all that I need to in a laptop like using Fusion 360, AutoCAD and a few other design programs I use, the fact it plays Diablo 4 and Baldurs Gate 3 is a huge plus for me even in Ultra settings. this thing is fantastic, does get a bit warm but nothing to out of the ordinary for a laptop.

I recently purchased the HP OMEN - 16.1" 144Hz Full HD Gaming Laptop and have been thoroughly impressed with its performance and design. The laptop packs a serious punch when it comes to gaming, thanks to its Processor and Graphics Card. Whether I'm playing graphically demanding titles or multitasking between games and other applications, the laptop handles everything with ease. The display is a standout feature, boasting a vibrant screen that delivers smooth visuals and enhances the gaming experience. The high resolution ensures sharp details, making every game visually stunning. The inclusion of G-Sync technology also contributes to seamless gameplay without any screen tearing. The build quality is exceptional, with a sturdy chassis and effective cooling solutions that keep temperatures in check during intense gaming sessions. The RGB-backlit keyboard is not only a pleasure to type on but also adds a customizable aesthetic to suit different moods. The touchpad is precise, but as a gaming laptop, I mostly use an external mouse for a more immersive experience. In terms of connectivity, the laptop offers a range of ports, providing flexibility for various peripherals and external devices. The inclusion of fast SSD storage ensures quick boot times and responsive application loading, contributing to an overall snappy performance. While the battery life is what you'd expect from a gaming laptop, it suffices for short periods of non-gaming use. However, for extended gaming sessions, it's advisable to have the laptop plugged in. Overall, the HP OMEN - 16.1" 144Hz Full HD Gaming Laptop ] strikes an excellent balance between powerful gaming capabilities and a sleek, modern design. It's a solid investment for gamers who want a reliable and high-performance machine. I would highly recommend this laptop to fellow gaming enthusiasts.

I'd have to say, I've heard bad things about past HP-OMEN Gaming Laptops. But in my Past 2 to 3 weeks of using this thing to play my Xbox Game Pass Ultimate to Using it for streaming My Gaming an for my CT Collectors YouTube Channel @tr0yz1488 #PokéTr0yz or Poké_tr0yz1488 on #Instagram. This laptop had gone above and beyond, tho battery life can be a issue if your using RGB Keyboard And Full Hdr/ Ray Tracing graphics. But if you set you Omen System Mode to Eco it runs more than fast enuff to use for on the go editing, Web Browsing and video streaming. You'll get more than average battery times. Ut if you keep you specs to high then you gotta expect what your using, if your pushing your body to it's max you run outta steam faster, battery's are no different, what did you think they were lying when they said the largest battery in the world is the human body. #googleeverything

Love my HP OMEN laptop. It does get a little hot sometimes but is fast, great graphics and all in all suits my purpose for video editing. I did have to replace the power cord as it didn't really fit and kept falling out therefore not charging,. But Best Buy replaced it with no problems. The sales people and Geek Squad were really helpful and fast.

I wanted anew laptop before retirement that met my specific needs. My baseline was my work laptop or better. 1TB of storage, more than 8GB of ram, fast processor and graphics card for under $1000. This laptop met or exceeded all my goals and included a backlite keyboard and NO touchscreen (hate them). I would recommend this model if you have the same expectations.

Overall I love my laptop. I've been playing helldivers 2 lately and it's running great. Other than that didn't play anything graphics heavy. When playing for some time fans start to work hard and create some noise but that's expected. But my favorite thing about it is a design. Nothing fancy, but it's slick and minimalistic.

I don’t know much about computers for gaming but I bought this for the processing power and it has performed beautifully. It is really heavy though so if you are going to be traveling with it be aware of that. Also it has a terrrrrrible battery life so never leave without a cord for it. I doubt a portable battery would even last long up against this computer. Anyways I’m sure I’m barely scratching the surface of what it can do but it does everything I need flawlessly.

I honestly love this laptop, I bought it because I was going away on an internship and wanted to make sure that I could stay connected to my videogames. I am also an engineering student so I needed a laptop that was going to be able to handle things like Solidworks and Matlab simultaneously. She's been amazing and can handle any software that I through at her and honestly made me fully switch from console gaming to just my laptop. I don't have a proper PC but I do connect her to an external monitor when I am working and I've never had any issues that wasn't the monitors fault. My only issue with it is a personal one, that is why I am not taking away any stars, but for my personal work, I really need a number pad and unfortunately this doesn't have one. I just bought a seperate keyboard so that when I am plugged into my monitor and need a number pad, I can play around in coding and excel with ease. Highly recommended!
