my son who is 13 thinks these are the best headphones ever and we have been through a few.

The first thing you will notice about these headphones is the packaging. These headphones come in attractive, sturdy, packaging that has a well defined, and accurate, summary of features. For once, I feel that the product lives up to the packaging hype. Out of the box, the set up is less than 2 minutes - remove from box, plug into USB, done. The OMEN command center will download, from here you can change the LED color, or set a color program, and control the cooling level. This headset feels a bit heavy in hand, however its comparable to other quality audio headphones I have. I expected to not be able to wear these for long, but was wrong. The cups tilt, the band adjusts, and overall I found a perfect fit. Overall these feel like a sturdy, well made, headset. The cooling itself isn't just a gimmick. These are the first headphones where the cooling makes a noticeable difference. The exterior of the cups still get hot, however the material around your ears stays nice and cool. The material itself is comfortable with the right level of firmness to stay in place but not too much pressure. This is a major plus for me, and the primary reason for 5 stars - cooling plus comfort is something I don't have from any of my other headsets! The built in mic swivels, and overall, is good. For the most part it won't pick up background noise and the speech sounds crisp to others I am talking to. I'm not a audiophile, and I can't detect a noticeable difference between the OMEN sound and other high end wireless headphones I have. I can say that the sound quality matches some of my more expensive headphones that I use for general office use. The surround sound processing is good while using with gaming. I found that I noticed subtle background noise easily and never had issues with volume control. I haven't needed to use these headphones above the 50% volume level. Overall, if you don't mind the cord, but need a comfortable, cool (literally), quality headset, go for it. These are amazing!

amazing head phones, definately up to the task look amazing too

Ive been using these HP Omen headphones for several days now and really like them. First off there is just one con to these headphones, but not enough to cause me to lower my rating. They are just a bit heavier that I like, but that is my only issue. Now for the pluses. These are comfortable to wear for prolonged periods of time. Ive had them on for over two hours at a time and did not experience any discomfort. Second, I just plugged in and I was up and running. You can download the Omen Command Center for more custom control of these headphones, but for me plug and play was perfect. Next, the HP Omen has a technology called Frost Cap which provides thermoelectric cooling to keep heat away from your ears, and it works fantastic. I kept feeling my ears getting cool and removed the headphones and could feel how cold the inside was. It is cold to the touch and it really works great. The sound on these headphones I thought, was very good, I had no sound quality issues at all. The microphone is ok, and serviceable. It is nothing special, but does the job. The biggest issue I have with the microphone is the foam cover at the end keeps falling off. It seems every time I touch or move the microphone the foam falls off. I am certain I will lose it at some point, because when I put the headphones away and go back to get them, the foam is off and laying at the bottom of the case I keep them in. Again, not enough for a rating deduction, but something to be aware of. If you are looking for wired gaming headphones, these should fit the bill. I highly recommend them to any and every one.

The inside of my ear feels cool, but im worried on the outside because it gets really hot The sounds is okay on this one. And I got it on sale for $70 so its good for me. The original price was $120 i think. PLUS The packaging is very nice and sturdy.

Owned the headset less than 5 months It functions perfectly and as expected. Simple to use and just plug and play. Ear cup cooling is awesome and pleasant - it cools down your ears. LED's and software is working as advertised. I would still recommend on value alone.

Works well with some set up. The OMEN command manager does cause some problems with games like COD. I needed to disable it for the audio to be functional in the game.

I need new headphones but also needed another podcast mic. I thought I could kill two birds with one stone. Not this case. These are great headphones but the mic is not studio quality

The HP Omen headphones are great gaming cans. With excellent build, cool features literally, and great balanced sound. In the box you get the headset and manual. The build and look of the headphones is excellent. Surprisingly so at this price point. No skimping here. The self adjusting headband is great and works on even larger heads like mine. I have a hard time getting some headsets to fit. And like others it almost requires the largest setting. They are also very comfortable and lightweight. Great for longer sessions. The pads are very nice without causing a lot of sweating. But to combat this is one of the headsets coolest features. Pun intended. The frostcap feature is no gimmick. They keep your ears nice and cool using an active cooling feature that just works. And this is also adjustable. Increase, decrease, or turn it off altogether if it bothers you or you just dont need it. Another cool feature is the LED's. This can be programmed in the Omen command center if you want them to match your system or just have them off as well if you dont like the look. The app is also used to adjust the cooling system as well. The sound in these is also excellent. Great positional sound for location. Solid bass for guns, explosions, etc. And an overall well balanced sound. They also sound great for music and movies as well. The mic works great also. It has the auto function where it will mute when lifted, or unmute when lowered in position. I wish all headsets used this feature, but thankfully it is here. So in summary you get a lot of gaming headphone here for your buck. Great sound, some essential features such as auto mic mute, excellent build quality and comfort. The active cooling technology that works great. Programmable functions using the PC app. All for a very good price. Recommended for any gamer looking for a solid set of gaming cans without breaking the bank.

Works as described, actually keeps your ears cool. Only problem is mic has some static feedback sometimes. RGB controls are very basic
