The HP OmniBook 5 Flip 2-in-1 14" 2K Touch-Screen Laptop is a sleek, versatile device that blends performance, portability, and sustainability into a compelling package for students, professionals, and creatives alike. Its standout feature is the 360-degree hinge, allowing users to switch effortlessly between laptop, tablet, tent, and stand modes—ideal for multitasking, presentations, or casual browsing. The 14-inch 2K IPS touchscreen offers vibrant visuals with a 16:10 aspect ratio, delivering more vertical space for productivity while maintaining crisp clarity at 300 nits brightness. Powered by Intel’s latest Core 5 or Core 7 processors, paired with up to 16GB LPDDR5 RAM and fast PCIe Gen4 SSD storage, the OmniBook 5 Flip handles everyday tasks with ease, from video conferencing and document editing to light creative work. While it uses integrated Intel Iris Xe graphics, which aren’t suited for heavy gaming or 3D rendering, they’re more than capable for streaming and general use. The laptop’s build quality is impressive, featuring recycled aluminum and ocean-bound plastics, making it both durable and eco-conscious. It weighs just under 3.6 lbs, making it easy to carry, and includes modern connectivity options like Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.3, USB-C with DisplayPort, and HDMI 2.1. The 5MP IR webcam with privacy shutter and dual speakers with HP Audio Boost enhance virtual meetings and media experiences. Battery life is another strong point, offering up to 15 hours of mixed use and over 21 hours of video playback, backed by a 68Wh battery and fast USB-C charging. However, it lacks a memory card reader and has limited color accuracy (62.5% sRGB), which may be a drawback for professional creatives. Overall, the HP OmniBook 5 Flip is a well-rounded, future-forward laptop that balances style, function, and sustainability—perfect for users who need flexibility without compromising on core performance.

The HP OmniBook 5 Flip 2-in-1 14" 2K Touch-Screen Laptop in Glacier Silver is a true gem in the ultrabook category. After extensive research and hands-on use for a few weeks, I can confidently say this device is a fantastic value that punches well above its weight class in design, performance, and versatility. It seamlessly blends sleek aesthetics with capable internals, making it an excellent choice for professionals, students, and creatives alike. Right out of the box, the build quality impresses. The Glacier Silver aluminum chassis feels premium, solid, and elegant without being flashy. It’s extremely portable — the 14” size strikes the perfect balance between screen real estate and backpack-friendliness. The 2-in-1 hinge is sturdy and rotates smoothly into tent, tablet, and stand modes, ideal for watching videos, drawing, or giving presentations. It’s rare to see such a refined design in this price range. The 2K touchscreen is a showstopper. The clarity, brightness, and color accuracy are exceptional — you get ultra-sharp visuals whether you're editing photos, watching high-res content, or simply browsing the web. The touch responsiveness is smooth and precise, and the inclusion of pen support (pen sold separately) adds functionality for note-takers and digital artists. Under the hood, the Intel Core 5 processor, paired with 8GB of RAM and a 512GB SSD, delivers consistently snappy performance. Everyday multitasking is a breeze — I typically run 10+ browser tabs, stream music, edit documents, and occasionally run light photo editing software with zero hiccups. The SSD ensures quick boot times and fast file access, and 512GB is generous storage in this price bracket. One standout feature is the keyboard and trackpad. The backlit keyboard offers a comfortable typing experience with great key travel, and the glass-like trackpad is surprisingly smooth and accurate. HP clearly didn’t cut corners here — it's comfortable enough for extended typing sessions and meetings. Battery life is solid — I routinely get 8–9 hours on moderate usage with screen brightness at 60–70%, making it a reliable all-day work companion. It charges quickly via USB-C, which is a big plus in today’s ecosystem. Also appreciated: a well-rounded port selection, including USB-C, USB-A, HDMI, and a headphone jack — something many ultrabooks skip in favor of a slimmer profile. Finally, HP’s software experience has improved significantly. There’s minimal bloatware, and the myHP app makes managing device settings, updates, and support refreshingly simple. In summary, the HP OmniBook 5 Flip 2-in-1 stands out as one of the best Windows laptops under $1,000. It delivers a premium build, stunning display, strong performance, and excellent flexibility — all in a lightweight and stylish form. Whether you're a student, a remote worker, or just someone who appreciates refined design and functionality, this device will exceed expectations. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a MacBook Air alternative with touchscreen and 2-in-1 capabilities.

Looking for a powerful and versatile laptop for graduation or a new year? The HP Omnibook 5 Flip is a fantastic option! It was a spectacular value for the introductory price paid in May 2025! We gifted this to a family member as a graduation present, and I’m confident it will turn out to be a long-lasting and productive computer for them. From the moment you unbox it, the sleek, minimalist design is appealing; it feels solid and well-built, a welcome departure from some of the more plasticky convertible laptops of recent years. The laptop’s form factor is surprisingly versatile; it seamlessly transitions between a tablet and a laptop mode, offering flexibility for different tasks. It doesn't feel flimsy; the build quality feels robust and durable. I particularly appreciate the backlit keyboard: it’s comfortable to type on, and the large touchpad provides a satisfying tactile experience. Battery life is exceptional. During my workdays, using streaming videos on a 1920x1200 display, the laptop ran nearly all day without significant strain. It consistently maintained a respectable battery life, even after prolonged use. The Intel Core 5 120U CPU, with its 10 cores, handled most apps with ease, and it was able to comfortably go on standby for several days, still providing hours of usable battery. While the 8GB of RAM is a bit limiting as a baseline, the laptop performs admirably without needing an upgrade. The fast 512 SSD provides responsive disk I/O, making it a smooth and efficient device. The inclusion of two USB-C ports (including charging) alongside the 2xUSB-A, 1xHDMI, and headphone ports makes it incredibly convenient. Considering the price, this laptop represents a truly outstanding value. It’s noticeably more expensive now, but it’s a worthwhile investment for those seeking a versatile and capable machine. We’ve seen a few hundred dollars increase since the purchase date. Overall, the HP Omnibook 5 Flip is a strong recommendation for shoppers at Best Buy. It’s a well-rounded laptop that delivers a good balance of features and performance. It’s a smart choice for anyone looking for a dependable machine.

I’ve had this HP OmniBook 5 Flip for a few weeks now and I’m really impressed. The 2K touch screen is crisp and responsive, and I love being able to flip it into tablet mode when I'm on the couch and for when my daughter wants to draw or play games. It feels sturdy but not heavy, and the Glacier Silver finish looks clean and modern. Typing has been great with the backlit keyboard and the keys feel pleasant under the fingers. Performance-wise, it handles everything I need — streaming, browsing with lots of tabs open, checking emails, and running several Microsoft apps. I haven't felt any lag in response or feel as though I have pushed the processor. I also don't edit pictures/videos or play games so I don't have any insight to the laptops capabilities in regards to this. The Intel Core 5 chip is fast enough for multitasking, and the 512GB SSD gives me plenty of space with fast boot-up times. Battery life has been solid too — I have used it on and off the past few weeks and still using the original charge. I was charging my old laptop every 4 hours so this feels light-years ahead in terms of battery life. If you’re looking for a reliable, sleek 2-in-1 for school, work, or general use, this is a great pick. I picked the laptop up for a great deal in the $450 range and at this price point I don't think it can be beat and likely could be in the running for best laptop under $1000. Definitely happy with my purchase.

I’ve been using the HP OmniBook 5 Flip 2-in-1 for a few weeks now, and overall it’s a solid choice for both work and personal use. The 2K touch display is sharp and vibrant, making videos and multitasking a pleasant experience. The build feels premium, and the 360° flip function is smooth and handy when switching to tablet mode. Battery life is good, lasting around 7–8 hours on mixed use, which works well for a full day. The Intel Core 5 processor handles everyday tasks and light multitasking quickly without lag. For heavier tasks like multiple browser tabs and apps running, the 8GB RAM is decent, though I’d recommend upgrading if you’re into heavy workloads. The 512GB SSD gives plenty of space and keeps boot times fast. The keyboard is comfortable to type on, and the overall design is slim and lightweight enough to carry around easily.

I’ve been using the HP OmniBook 5 Flip for a few weeks now, and I’m honestly really impressed. Performance is solid for everyday stuff like web browsing, emails, video calls, and even a bit of light photo editing. The Intel Core i5 runs smooth, and the 512GB SSD makes everything feel snappy. It’s also really lightweight, so it’s easy to carry around. Battery life has been great—I can usually get through the whole day without needing to charge. The only thing to keep in mind is the 8GB of RAM—it’s enough for normal use, but might be limiting if you’re doing heavy multitasking or creative work. I picked up the HP OmniBook 5 Flip mainly for school, and it’s been great so far. Super light to carry around, the screen looks really sharp, and I like that I can flip it into tablet mode when I just want to chill or read. Battery lasts me almost all day with classes and homework, and it charges pretty fast too. It runs smooth for browsing, assignments, and even a little gaming on the side. Only thing I wish is that it came with the pen, but that’s easy to buy later. Overall, it’s been a solid laptop and I’m glad I chose it.

I'm pretty picky about laptops - I want a good solid build, comfortable keyboard, fast, affordable, and minimal fan noise. Honestly HP has exceeded my expectations on all of these with this laptop. I'd say the build quality on this is near MacBook quality - but unlike a MacBook you get a touchscreen and useful ports like HDMI and two USB A, in additional to the 2 USB C and headphone jack. This laptop does have a fan but it is usually silent or very quiet. The main drawback is the limited amount of memory (8 GB) but for what I use this laptop for (web browsing, word processing, music, youtube), I'm happy with it.
