Best buy is great, but the HP support is so so bad. Sales agents lied to me and sold me a care pack that is "incompatible" with the device even thought they used the serial of the laptop to find matching care packs.

I’ve spent some time with this laptop, and I really enjoy it. It has a lot of what I need and nothing I don’t. I got this laptop as a computer that can do a lot and not compromising size, sound, and functionality. Straight out of the box I notice how light the laptop is. Which is good for an ultra book. It is a 14” normally I would be a 15.6” size type of person but this size works. Keeps it light and semi portable. The display looks good. The Battery life is great I used it for a few hours a day for about 4 days and didn’t need to charge. It charges via USB C. Which is great for flexibility. The top right and left corners of the laptop has an angled edge instead of a corner which was an interesting design choice but it allows for the charger port to be at an angle rather than sticking straight out of the side in danger. It is pretty fast at everything and is very quiet while doing it. The typing on the keyboard is a great experience. The finger print reader I will say is a little finicky but when it works it’s great. There is a built is on privacy cover for the webcam for extra safety. Overall this is a great workhorse laptop that is perfect for traveling and minimal compromises.

The ONLY slightly negative thing I can say about this laptop is the keyboard. Excellent responsiveness, just a bit too clicky for my liking - the Microsoft Surface products have a much less clicky and smooth keyboard. But other than that, this laptop is amazing, a lot of planning went into this laptop with design. I'm glad that they went with a Ryzen x64 processor here. I really wanted the new Surface laptops but they, like many other brands, use the Qualcomm ARM processor. I really didn't want to have to worry about compatibility with old x86 or x64 software. With the Ryzen processor I need not worry one bit. I haven't had any performance issues, although I really can't speak to any heavy duty processing since I do none - no gaming, no digital editing, etc. For basic Windows this laptop is great, of course. 32GB and 1TB, I mean, these are some great specs here. The thing I like most about HP laptops are the way they label the keys of their keyboards (ignoring the clickyness, of course) - the letters are so big and easy to read. We aren't in Europe or South America here where space is preserved for a second language on the keys, so you might as well go big, no? HP keyboards are great for older people with poorer vision, that's a certainty. There are a lot of nice touches here. The built-in camera privacy screen is a really nice touch. The flat corners along the back seem weird in the picture, but I imagine that that it is better for if you accidentally drop the laptop. Also, they managed to fit a second USB C charge port. It LOOKS like the laptop won't open or close if you plug in the power to that port, but it does. Having an all metal chassis is really nice - they definitely got the cooling done right, I haven't felt the laptop hot at all. While they didn't go with the 3x2 screens of the surface laptops, the 16:10 they did do feels better than the traditional 16:9. Max resolution is 2200 x 1400 which provides for good clarity. Very bright! The speakers are done very tactfully, audio is good. The laptop is very light as well. The touchpad is so huge, I really enjoy it. The only other major comment I have is that the lid is not one-handed, sadly. It is very hard to find a laptop that you can open with one hand. I know the Surface laptops have it. I wouldn't say it is a deal breaker, but it is something that people who care about it should know. Overall I definitely recommend the laptop. Really a pleasure to use.

The new crop of AI notebooks from both AMD and Intel are quite interesting. They are faster and more efficient and of course there is all the talk of AI. These new CPUs incorporate NPUs, or Neural Processing Units. However, today it is hard to understand how a NPU is of value to me. So I asked Microsoft Copilot and it gave me a fair answer that I will only summarize. You can ask this same question of Copilot if you have it available. An NPU enhanced performance for AI-related tasks. Enhance AI tasks such as image recognition, natural language processing, and real-time data analysis. CPU and GPU are freed up to handle other processes, leading to better performance. Improved Battery Life. AI tasks can be processed directly on your device without needing an internet connection. Future-Proofing The HP OmniBook is a very competent performer for most any needs. The chassis is very solid with no flex. The edges are rounded edges in all the places you touch with the exception of the rear corners. The rear corners are not sharp enough to cut but they're close. The display is sharp at 2240x1400@60hz but it's an average display to my eyes. And certainly not up to some of the displays available today. I did run some full scale screen colors tests and I don’t see any banding or edge issues. I find the keyboard to be just average and really not up to my expectations for HP. The keys sort of stick and the travel is very small. Maybe they will loosen up but it's not a high point. The keyboard is backlit. The trackpad feels smooth and works very well. The notebook has four speakers. Two on the top and two on the bottom. The sound seems to come from the whole notebook and if not pushed too hard is fine for normal use. The camera has a shutter door for privacy and does 1080p video. The power button is also a fingerprint reader and seems to work very well. It is a bit touchy but I am getting better with it. The installed software is mostly what you get with Microsoft and the HP utilities. I uninstalled the included virus software. I would have liked to see another type-C USB port. With only two on the right side and one taken if you're charging you could run out of USB ports very easily. These are USB4 ports so docking is always an option. I was able to get 4K@120Hz video out without any problems on the USB type-C ports. On the left side you get one USB type-A port and a combination mic headphone jack. This notebook comes with 32GB of ram and a full 1TB of storage. Als included is a 65 Watt USB type-C wall charger. One of my interests in this HP OmniBook is the new AMD CPU. The AMD Ryzen AI 9 365 is new this year. Along with the NPU for processing AI there is a revised GPU. This is great news for the PC gamer. The Integrated AMD Radeon 800M graphic could be the beginning of the end for needing a dedicated GPU and all of the power needs that come along with it. Not to mention the fan noise gaming notebooks have. The numbers I am seeing in some short tests have Shadow of the Tomb Raider doing 43 fps on low setting at the full 2240x1400 screen resolution. This makes for smooth game play. But using some of the AI tricks of AMD Fluid Motion and dynamic resolution we can do even better with little to no effort. But the bigger point here is not only do you have a very powerful multi core CPU but you are also getting usable gaming performance too. As this AI platform matures along with the drivers this can only get better. The HP OmniBook is a quality notebook packed with features that will mature and get better overtime. There is truly something here for everyone.

I’ve been using the new HP OmniBook Ultra for about 5 days now, and I’m loving it. The 14” screen is a nice size—small enough to keep it portable for traveling, but large enough to still be usable with multiple apps open on the screen. The touch pad and touch screen work well together. My only minor complaint so far is the screen is very reflective so any windows or bright lights behind you will cause some glare. But when you’re in a mostly dim room the screen is perfect. Also, the screen will open up to about a maximum of 135 degrees which is pretty normal for a regular laptop, but it’s not one of those 180-degree tablet-type screens. It comes with a 1TB disk which should be plenty of room for years ahead. The 32GB of built-in RAM is likewise plenty for the foreseeable future. It has the minimum basic interfaces available: Two USB-C ports, one USB-A port, and a headphones jack. The rear corners of the case are notched at 45 degrees and one of the USB-C ports is on that bevel on the right side, which is an interesting touch. It has turned out to be pretty useful because I can easily find that port by feel which is sometimes a challenge on the small ports these days. It’s a small thing, but if I can get cables plugged in quickly and easily, that saved time will add up. The audio from the built-in speakers is good. It has speakers on the top on both sides of the keyboard and a couple of smaller speakers underneath. The bass isn’t strong, of course, but it’s still perfectly fine for music while you work, podcasts, or watching a streaming show. The keyboard is comfortable and easy to use. One nice touch is the lettering on the keys is in a large font so they’re very easy to see. This is something I’ve learned to appreciate as I get older. Some other features I like but that aren’t super obvious: It has Wifi 7 built in, which is working great with my home’s Wifi 6e hardware. It also has HP fast charge which can charge the battery from 0 to 50% in 45 min. (The battery life has been so good on it so far, though, that I haven’t tested that.) One feature I didn’t realize it had at first was a physical camera shutter. There’ s a little slide tab you can feel above the camera near the top edge of the screen that you can slide back and forth to open or close the camera lens. Finally, it has presence sensing that automatically locks the laptop when you walk away from it and wakes it up when you move back in front of it. Overall, I’m super happy with the OmniBook Ultra and expect I’ll still be using it years from now.

Right now in real time is sitting on a tounee telescopic laptop stand for desk with 360° swivel base paired with a logitech mx anywhere 3s wireless mouse. Imo this laptop will last me for the next 10+ years if I’m able to baby it with lots of tlc! Uses: maybe type a novel series, type novels, keyboard midi controller, electronic music producing station, laptop computer chess using the touchscreen feature, web surfing. I was excited to receive the HP OmniBook Ultra 14" laptop to try out. I was more drawn to it being a laptop that was not a gaming one but appeared to be powerful enough to handle any task I threw its way while also being easy to travel with. This little powerhouse definitely fits the bill. Small in form with its 14" footprint doesn't make me feel like I sacrificed anything versus a larger screen except for weight. While I enjoy larger screens for my gaming laptops it was always an annoyance when it came to using any of them as a daily workhorse that I took with me on the go. The only negative I have associated with the screen would be how glossy it is making it prone to more glare than I like. It's not a deal breaker but if given the option to choose a less glossy option I absolutely would. While this is definitely not geared towards being a gaming PC it handled some light gaming use with ease. It really shined at handling my video editing for content creation as well as photo editing. The keyboard had nice feedback and was comfortable to work with. The speakers while not being high end have more than adequate sound which is nice compared to other similarly sized laptops. The 32GB of RAM is definitely a nice perk. Multitasking has been an absolute joy so far and Copilot+ has been a nice foray into AI and impressed me far more than expected and excited for what will come in the future. Overall, I think this is a great option for virtually any one looking for a powerful daily use laptop.

Great performance with longer battery life. All AI Adobe, Copilot Apps works well

This is about BB and not the laptop. Ordered it open box rated as " excellent condition" Recieved it and it was filthy. I cleaned it up and found dents in several locations. I thought BB had more customer service than this. To say the least, I returned it and got refunded. What a waste of my time. Rated Excellent. Wow. What happened to pride, customer care and just doing a superior job? I believe this to be a fine laptop, but look elsewhere for open box in rough condition.

This is the second time that I have to return the laptop. First time due to built in cam not work and second time, laptop not reading there are additional monitors attached.
