This was a solid computer and almost perfect. The biggest weekness is a personal matter. While the OLED screen is gorgeous, it hurt mu eyes over a long period of use.

Replaced my iPad, laptop, desktop, I do have a PS5 for heavy games, to me the biggest pro is Intel lunar lake, rest is as great as a spectre....

For the money, it needs more than 16GB RAM. This limits how useful it is for multitasking and gaming.

Build quality is great, screen etc just like the previous hp spectres. the only problem is the ipgu on this performs very poorly. ive tried everything but the numbers are comparable to or below 8000u ryzen series igpu performance. my guess would be hp power limits the cpu to keep temps down but the temps while gaming are barely 70. really a bummer on this

Overall great product and very easy to setup and use.

I miss having a separate numerical keyboard other than the F keys.

Had an issue with brand new laptop when first turn on the computer. The sytem is kind of funky, and swith to HP spectre it does not have this kind issue.

A couple months ago, I was on the market for a home laptop. My requirements, something decently powerful that I could use for compile heavy tech projects or to run ECAD software locally. It would need an okay GPU, not top of the line but able to handle ECAD and occasional gaming sessions. I wanted it to be light, ideally close to 2lbs with at least 12 hours of battery life with the screen at 60-70% brightness. Also, something that’s USB-C powered so that I can just plug in to any charger at home, versus needing to track a proprietary one. I was leaning a bit towards a chromebook but once I added the need to compile locally versus doing the work over remote desktop to my desktop computer, that eliminated those. Also, I pretty much could not find Chomebooks under 3lbs much less with decent battery life. I’ve been on Windows for most of my life and at times, that was the only platform that could run software I was using or could connect to hardware. But now, even the latest Windows machines can’t easily recognize some of my really old devices so that’s no longer a strong concern. In the end, not really finding much in terms of Windows options that could give me most of that and the battery life I wanted, I went with Apple’s offering. So imagine my surprise to have the opportunity to review the HP Omnibook Ultra Flip. A windows 11 machine which aside from the weight (around 3lbs but my Apple laptop similarly is over at 2.7lbs) pretty much hits everything I was looking for while packing in a few extra features. It’s amazing because finished in Eclipse Gray, it’s almost a match for the Apple laptop. The only giveaway is the more angular corners, difference in logos, and the Omnibook Ultra flip being slightly larger. So what do you get? This HP Omnibook Ultra is a 14” laptop with touchscreen and 360 degree hinge. USB-C powered, you get an aluminum chassis finished in a nice grey color that gives it even more of a premium look. While theoretically, the surface should be a fingerprint magnet, in practice, I’ve found that it doesn’t seem to pick them up that much and so I rarely notice. The keyboard matches the chassis coloring, though a bit darker so no jarring disconnect here. At 3lbs, you’re likely going to use this as a traditional laptop, or in tent mode versus completely folding to 360 and using it as a touchscreen. Still, I’d have appreciated getting a stylus. I’ve been a One Note user since the touchscreen Thinkpad convertible days when you’d be hard pressed to find a laptop under 4lbs. Like a lot of similar laptops and the one sitting next to it on my desk, you get practically no ports. Just the 3.5mm audio/mic port, and three USB-C (though two of them support thunderbolt). So unlike laptops from a certain fruit manufacturer, you can drive more external displays. With the Intel Core Ultra 7, you get local AI capability built-in which accelerates some workflows or queries. I’m just starting to use that with Visual Studio code and other tools that I use regularly so I can’t really comment on the real benefits of having that built in, but it’s good to be future proofed in this manner. If you thought laptops couldn’t get any less sharp, this one has more rounded edges including the rear side of the laptop where the corners are at a 45 degree angle and sport 2 of the three USB-C ports. This looks very cool. . .until you need to plug something in then it looks weird. For work, I have a mini security key that’s always plugged in so I think a compact USB-C device like that would be fine here as it will minimally add protrusion to the laptop. But anything with a cord will seem strange and ergonomically doesn’t quite work as we’ve optimized desk and cable routing over the years so that they hit laptops from the back or side and increasingly not even the back. Coming out at a corner actually requires me to reserve a bit more desk space and I think would be even more weird if I have something plugged in there with the laptop on my lap. Generally when charging, I just plug in to the port on the side of the Omnibook. Internally, this is sporting a Intel Core Ultra 7 SoC with Intel ARC graphics. By comparison to one of my recent Core i9 work laptops, there’s definitely a performance hit here. Don’t get me wrong, this is still pretty good and more than adequate for my use. I’d say this hits the mark for business users and casual developers, though not at the level for a dedicated engineering workstation. To be fair, I’ve found that the 15” and smaller laptop chassis just don’t really have the thermal headroom or capacity for intense engineering work, so perhaps that’s too much to expect from a 3lb, 14” laptop. Similarly, the graphics are good enough for my everyday laptop needs. It definitely struggles rendering Cyberpunk at anything above medium but does a good enough job for just a casual hour or two on a lazy Saturday afternoon. What really brings it all together for me was that I get all this plus a solid 12 hours of battery life. If I drop the brightness, I’ve been able to extend it to just beyond 15. My fruity laptop is able to eke out 15-18 hours under the same conditions but 12 hours is pretty much all I need for true all day use. For me, it’s important that I could grab the laptop disconnecting from a charger in the morning, use it all day in various places in the house, with no worries about having to plug in. Or that I could get 2-3 days of occasional use without needing to plug in. With the Omnibook, I probably would need to drop the brightness to survive the 3rd day but there are pros. The 360 degree hinge means you can share or collaborate a lot more easily with the Omnibook. Speaking of the screen, the touchscreen works pretty well and is decently responsive. It’s nice to have something where when my natural inclination is to tap something on the screen, I can. There are many cases where that just feels more intuitive and is faster than navigating with the trackpad. The OLED is gorgeous and at 2.8K is likely why battery life is limited at around 15 hours. My typing test WPM varied between 90 and 95 WPM which is where I max out on what I consider to be the best keyboards. And this is a mobile keyboard with smaller travel. But the spacing and responsiveness feel natural and not constrained and unlike my other laptop, all my special keys are in the right place and behave exactly the way one expects. Trackpad response was good. Nothing special, but also nothing to complain about. And honestly, I don’t really have any complaints. The sound quality from the speakers was mediocre. But I expected that. I’ve not experienced a single laptop, chromebook, or device of this thickness that had speaker quality worth writing about. So yes, not great, but probably 70% percentile for laptops in this size and weight range. The webcam is mixed. I think the video resolution was pretty good and it auto adapts to different lighting well, but colors felt either oversaturated or washed out if the ambient lighting wasn’t helping. But honestly, it’s easy to come up with a list of ways where this laptop could be better (lighter, more performance, a bit more battery life, an HDMI port or better arrangement of USB-C ports), but by comparison to what’s out there, a solid 4. What restrains me from the full five stars is that I have sitting literally next to the Omnibook an example that shows better performance and battery life is possible in this form factor.

Audio did not work, reinstalling driver and finaly factory reset did not help

It’s fast and has a great graphics. Today it stopped working for no reason. Not recommended

The screen has too much glare. There are no USB A ports on it, neither hdmi.

Sent wrong configuration with ghz, it should be of 4. Something but sent 1. Something...totally fraud. When you take used one please check configuration with what you ordered and what you got.
