I miss having a separate numerical keyboard other than the F keys.

I borrow this laptop from bestbuy and i love using it…

Had an issue with brand new laptop when first turn on the computer. The sytem is kind of funky, and swith to HP spectre it does not have this kind issue.

A couple months ago, I was on the market for a home laptop. My requirements, something decently powerful that I could use for compile heavy tech projects or to run ECAD software locally. It would need an okay GPU, not top of the line but able to handle ECAD and occasional gaming sessions. I wanted it to be light, ideally close to 2lbs with at least 12 hours of battery life with the screen at 60-70% brightness. Also, something that’s USB-C powered so that I can just plug in to any charger at home, versus needing to track a proprietary one. I was leaning a bit towards a chromebook but once I added the need to compile locally versus doing the work over remote desktop to my desktop computer, that eliminated those. Also, I pretty much could not find Chomebooks under 3lbs much less with decent battery life. I’ve been on Windows for most of my life and at times, that was the only platform that could run software I was using or could connect to hardware. But now, even the latest Windows machines can’t easily recognize some of my really old devices so that’s no longer a strong concern. In the end, not really finding much in terms of Windows options that could give me most of that and the battery life I wanted, I went with Apple’s offering. So imagine my surprise to have the opportunity to review the HP Omnibook Ultra Flip. A windows 11 machine which aside from the weight (around 3lbs but my Apple laptop similarly is over at 2.7lbs) pretty much hits everything I was looking for while packing in a few extra features. It’s amazing because finished in Eclipse Gray, it’s almost a match for the Apple laptop. The only giveaway is the more angular corners, difference in logos, and the Omnibook Ultra flip being slightly larger. So what do you get? This HP Omnibook Ultra is a 14” laptop with touchscreen and 360 degree hinge. USB-C powered, you get an aluminum chassis finished in a nice grey color that gives it even more of a premium look. While theoretically, the surface should be a fingerprint magnet, in practice, I’ve found that it doesn’t seem to pick them up that much and so I rarely notice. The keyboard matches the chassis coloring, though a bit darker so no jarring disconnect here. At 3lbs, you’re likely going to use this as a traditional laptop, or in tent mode versus completely folding to 360 and using it as a touchscreen. Still, I’d have appreciated getting a stylus. I’ve been a One Note user since the touchscreen Thinkpad convertible days when you’d be hard pressed to find a laptop under 4lbs. Like a lot of similar laptops and the one sitting next to it on my desk, you get practically no ports. Just the 3.5mm audio/mic port, and three USB-C (though two of them support thunderbolt). So unlike laptops from a certain fruit manufacturer, you can drive more external displays. With the Intel Core Ultra 7, you get local AI capability built-in which accelerates some workflows or queries. I’m just starting to use that with Visual Studio code and other tools that I use regularly so I can’t really comment on the real benefits of having that built in, but it’s good to be future proofed in this manner. If you thought laptops couldn’t get any less sharp, this one has more rounded edges including the rear side of the laptop where the corners are at a 45 degree angle and sport 2 of the three USB-C ports. This looks very cool. . .until you need to plug something in then it looks weird. For work, I have a mini security key that’s always plugged in so I think a compact USB-C device like that would be fine here as it will minimally add protrusion to the laptop. But anything with a cord will seem strange and ergonomically doesn’t quite work as we’ve optimized desk and cable routing over the years so that they hit laptops from the back or side and increasingly not even the back. Coming out at a corner actually requires me to reserve a bit more desk space and I think would be even more weird if I have something plugged in there with the laptop on my lap. Generally when charging, I just plug in to the port on the side of the Omnibook. Internally, this is sporting a Intel Core Ultra 7 SoC with Intel ARC graphics. By comparison to one of my recent Core i9 work laptops, there’s definitely a performance hit here. Don’t get me wrong, this is still pretty good and more than adequate for my use. I’d say this hits the mark for business users and casual developers, though not at the level for a dedicated engineering workstation. To be fair, I’ve found that the 15” and smaller laptop chassis just don’t really have the thermal headroom or capacity for intense engineering work, so perhaps that’s too much to expect from a 3lb, 14” laptop. Similarly, the graphics are good enough for my everyday laptop needs. It definitely struggles rendering Cyberpunk at anything above medium but does a good enough job for just a casual hour or two on a lazy Saturday afternoon. What really brings it all together for me was that I get all this plus a solid 12 hours of battery life. If I drop the brightness, I’ve been able to extend it to just beyond 15. My fruity laptop is able to eke out 15-18 hours under the same conditions but 12 hours is pretty much all I need for true all day use. For me, it’s important that I could grab the laptop disconnecting from a charger in the morning, use it all day in various places in the house, with no worries about having to plug in. Or that I could get 2-3 days of occasional use without needing to plug in. With the Omnibook, I probably would need to drop the brightness to survive the 3rd day but there are pros. The 360 degree hinge means you can share or collaborate a lot more easily with the Omnibook. Speaking of the screen, the touchscreen works pretty well and is decently responsive. It’s nice to have something where when my natural inclination is to tap something on the screen, I can. There are many cases where that just feels more intuitive and is faster than navigating with the trackpad. The OLED is gorgeous and at 2.8K is likely why battery life is limited at around 15 hours. My typing test WPM varied between 90 and 95 WPM which is where I max out on what I consider to be the best keyboards. And this is a mobile keyboard with smaller travel. But the spacing and responsiveness feel natural and not constrained and unlike my other laptop, all my special keys are in the right place and behave exactly the way one expects. Trackpad response was good. Nothing special, but also nothing to complain about. And honestly, I don’t really have any complaints. The sound quality from the speakers was mediocre. But I expected that. I’ve not experienced a single laptop, chromebook, or device of this thickness that had speaker quality worth writing about. So yes, not great, but probably 70% percentile for laptops in this size and weight range. The webcam is mixed. I think the video resolution was pretty good and it auto adapts to different lighting well, but colors felt either oversaturated or washed out if the ambient lighting wasn’t helping. But honestly, it’s easy to come up with a list of ways where this laptop could be better (lighter, more performance, a bit more battery life, an HDMI port or better arrangement of USB-C ports), but by comparison to what’s out there, a solid 4. What restrains me from the full five stars is that I have sitting literally next to the Omnibook an example that shows better performance and battery life is possible in this form factor.

It’s fast and has a great graphics. Today it stopped working for no reason. Not recommended

Audio did not work, reinstalling driver and finaly factory reset did not help

The screen has too much glare. There are no USB A ports on it, neither hdmi.

What the heck is this AI stuff? Actually this old man can only describe it as a supercharged search engine but more. You can get it to search for information and it will provide a summary of the result. I've seen more and more computer vendor help sites leveraging AI to assist customers troubleshooting their component or system. It's the wave of the future and hopefully it will make our jobs and life easier. With the AI wave upon us HP has come out with a Windows Copilot powered 2 in 1 laptop. The specs are awesome for a daily driver for school or work. It's 14" touch screen and ultra thin size, along with weighing in at under 3 pounds, it is the perfect to toss into a backpack. The Intel Core Ultra 7 with 16 GB of memory gives this 2 in 1 plenty of horsepower to run your business apps with ease. The 1TB SSD give the laptop plenty of headroom to have those apps along with any files (and why not some media files, although streaming seems to be the preferred method for that content). 3K OLED display powered by Intel Arc graphics has a respectable resolution of 2880 x 1800. The display sports Gorilla Glass making it resistant to scratching and mild abuse. I wouldn't recommend to use for gaming. Games eat up storage pretty quickly unless you stream or use cloud based. I loaded up one of my favorite AAA games, Days Gone, and even on low graphics settings I got a lot of stutter and dipping frame rates. It might be better for something like PUGB or other less graphics intensive games. I especially like 2 in 1 tablets for a few reasons. Standard laptop orientation is amazing for day to day use but if you need to go keyboard-less you can flip int quickly into tablet form and with the touch screen it's more than capable. I use the 2 in 1 for another reason. If you flip it but not all the way flat, making like a tent, I use as a portable table top display for trade show slideshows or if I'm doing training with a small group I don't need a projector. I can just flip to a tent (inverted V) and I do my tabletop demo or power slides. It's a real effective method and something I use often. For the size the speakers are surprisingly good. Plenty of volume, no rattling, good sound quality. Thumbs up!!! The I/O is decent although you may need to invest in a external I/O hub to gain some features. With two Thunderbolt ports you can plug in a USB-C input monitor, use the other to charge or plug in a fast external drive. For me the angled ports off the back corners is a bid odd but makes sense as it's not quite side and it's not quite back, more out of the way I suppose. The Omnibook Ultra also comes with one USB-C port on the right side and a headphone jack of all things on the left side. I only say that because I assumed most devices were strictly going Bluetooth. I'm not complaining mind you. All I/O is welcome. However, due to the thin profile it is lacking a USB-A port, ethernet jack and no SD card slot (micro or otherwise). Although the WiFi 7 adapter is fast enough if you have a comparable WiFi router. Now to address the lacking I/O. I found it necessary to acquire a USB-C/Thunderbolt hub that not only gives me the capability of plugging in a HDMI monitor or projector, I gained two USB-A ports and a SD card slot. Most can be purchased for under $50 and it's proven to be a necessity for my travels. I can now use my USB-A thumb drives, external hard drive and SD cards. It's a great lightweight and nimble laptop/tablet for everyday use but don't expect to do any serious gaming with it.

Sent wrong configuration with ghz, it should be of 4. Something but sent 1. Something...totally fraud. When you take used one please check configuration with what you ordered and what you got.

Horrible service especially price matched experience

Got the laptop in open-box condition from Gessner drive branch in Houston, took it out of the store and checked it, only to find that it had a totally different laptop inside the box (specter). Brought it back to the same branch of best buy and the employees and general manager were exceptionally rude to me and refused to admit their fault and return. Would give 0 stars if possible.

I have owned a lot of laptops but this one is definitely unique. With the direction technology is heading and how often it changes, this powerhouse of a laptop seems ready for the future. The design is very sleek and pretty simple. It resembles a lot of similarities to other slim type laptops. The ability for it to go from laptop to tablet is pretty impressive. While there are other brands that offer thje same feature, this Omnibook does it so well and the transition is done well. The screen is one of my favorite parts of this thing. The detail, color and depth of anything that is displayed on it is just amazing. The fact that is a 3k display contributes to how awesome it is. Once everything was setup through Windows 11, I installed a couple games and some video editing software. I started with the editing software. It pretty much loaded instantly, no noticeable delay whatsoever. That's impressive, considering my PC, with very good specifications, takes a few seconds to really load it. I edited three different videos and it handled them all very well with no issues. This Omnibook made quick work of my editing tasks. That's impressive to me. Once finished, I watched the edited videos and I was just blown away with how well they looked and played. There was no stutter, no lag or anything, just smooth audio and video playback. That makes me happy. Next, I fired up a game. This particular game is a simple to play shooter. It loaded up just fine and I was able to start play within a few seconds of pressing start game. The gameplay, however, leaves a bit to be desired. I didn't get very good frames per second and the resolution dropped here and there, even on low to medium settings. While it was still playable, I didn't feel it was enjoyable. This is my only issue with this thing. It is super fast, has ample storage, plenty of RAM, great battery life, a beautiful display and an excellent design. Overall, I am very happy with the Omnibook and this will be my go to for editing many many videos and photos from here on out.

Hard to review this item when they gave me the wrong item at check out and had to return it.

Stopped working after a month. Would not recommend.

Battery gets drained once you leave it for 2 days. Looks good but it’s build quality is not good.

The HP 14” Omniboook ultra flex is a well build notebook that can also be used as a tablet. With its 2.8k oled, 14 in HDR display and a variable refresh rate from 120hz down to 48 hz it is gives and exceptional looking image great for media consumption, media creation, gaming and work. The eclipse grey is almost black and looks great. Although darker laptops tend to show fingerprints, I did not notice them on this laptop. The Oled gives those deep blacks and has great color reproduction. In addition, the display is a Multitouch touchscreen and can use an hp pen, it even has a magnetic doc for the pen on the right of the laptop deck for the pen. Sadly, the pen is not supplied with the laptop but is available form HP and many retailers. The display is glossy but I did not experience any extreme reflections The display is protected by Corning® Gorilla® Glass 5 which is extreamly tuff and will prevent scratches. The Screen is dual hinged and can be folded back to use the laptop as a tablet. The keyboard feels great very comfortable to type on. The keys have great tactile feedback and just the right amount of travel for typing. The aluminum deck and chassis give the keboard a premium feel with no flex whatsoever. The laptop remains light about 2.8lb, due to its excellent design. The multitouch haptec touchpad has adjustable feedback, the dlicks are just right. The touchpad is very responsive and I had no issues with my palm activating touches even with its exceptional sensitivity. Hp has really done their homework with this keyboard and touchpad it is in my opinion the best of any laptop I have ever owned. The ports are housed in the rear cut corners with 2 thunderbolt ports right side one 3.2 usbc and sound jack on left The sound from this little laptop is surprisingly good the range is full and it had pretty good base. The metal case and deck help with this but HP again has tuned the speakers just right to get fantastic sound. The 9mp cam with IR can be controlled the Polycam pro app or built in Windows camera app. It is more than adequate for social and business videochat. The Intel Lunar Lake core ultra 7 256v 7nm with 8 cores and 8 threads, Intel Arc140v video and16gb DDR5 is able to handle aps like Davinci resolve, Adobe photoshop and premieve as well as moderate gaming. The Oled screen lends itself to these apps as well as video consumption through streaming services and social media. The fan is very quiet, I have never heard it during use. The laptop supports Wifi 7 and BlueTooth 5.4. HP Ai companion Beta is included, it uses the built in intel NPU and leverages Chat GPT4.0 to answer questions, sumerize articles, brainstorm ideas. To open the HP AI Companion, search for and open HP AI Companion. You can also select the icon from the system tray. To use the Ai Companion, you must create or sign in to an HP account, this must be a different account than an Hp Instant Ink account if you happen to have one. The ability to use the OpenAI ChatGPT 4.0 using the built in NPU to analyze your own data or help with Discovering new ideas is very useful. If you need help with settings or optimizing the performace of your laptop and keeping drivers up to date by just asking is cool to say the least. Overall, this is a great laptop, looks fantastic, feels great, great keyboard, accurate haptic feedback touchpad, bright clear multitouch, pen capable OLED display and convertible to a tablet when needed. The built in NPU is great to have in this era of AI. The keyboard also has a dedicated Microsoft Copilot key. I highly reccomend this for Students, Business and home use. It is good for some gaming but a laptop with a higher powered GPU may be a better choice if you are a heavy gamer.

Arrived with multiple scratches on the paint right out of the box

I like the computer for the following reasons- - the computer is compact but still has a full size keyboard so the keyboard does not feel too small - HP provided some very good tools to easily transfer information from my old computer to the new computer. Usually, this transfer is a challenge and consumes a significant amount of time, but the tools HP provide made the process quick and easy while ensuring that all the information was transferred. - the computer is fast and responsive in all situations I have used it in. There is nothing worse than sitting around staring at a computer waiting for some complicated situation to be completed. - the computer is thin and does not weigh much; therefore it is easy to pack with you as your workspace changes or you are at either an on-site or off-site meeting or session. - there is an AI assistant built in to the PC that has helped me in editing and modifying minutes from meeting both quickly and professionally

If you knew or used the previous "HP Spectre" line then you know this is a premium device and a big upgrade with Lunar Lake chipset. Very nice Windows laptop when on sale. Overall the best features are the screen and keyboard. Perfect for students, professionals and Netflixers. I would definitely buy this for college or my parents if they needed an ultrabook that was portable. This thing has tons of power and can even do some respectable gaming in between sessions of Microsoft Office. Work hard, play hard baby. The chip in this laptop, Lunar Lake, is a one off from Intel to try and redeem itself from years of complacency. Overall, it's a win with great GPU improvements that allows respectable frame rates in some modern titles. Battery life is still 6 - 8 hours and not impressive compared to most other modern machines, especially for this premium price. It's not going to come close to beating a M chip Mac, will exceed Snapdragon only in compatibility, and is now neck and neck with AMD. Good work, but still ways to go Intel. Screen is gorgeous, 120hz refresh rate is silky smooth and if you're into OLED, it's one of the best panels I've seen in a laptop. Keyboard is also one of the best if not THE best keyboard out there. If you're looking for a good laptop to write with, stop reading here and buy this thing. Not to mention 2 in 1 features, killer sound, premium chases and understated color. Software is really the only thing holding this laptop back and for the price, that's unacceptable given the premium price. Seems like fans are always running, tons of HP software and notifications from Microsoft which are pestering. I had all my windows resize when I plugged and unplugged this laptop but I'm hopeful it can be resolved with updates over time. For the money, it's probably the best laptop package you can buy in the Windows space.

If you are looking for a versatile touch screen laptop that doubles as a tablet, this could be what you are looking for. The quality is very good. However, you are limited as to how many ports you get. This laptop is very lightweight and when converted to tablet mode is comfortable to carry around when needed. The power button also works as a finger print scanner to add security to your laptop. There are three USB-C ports. I like that two of the ports are located at the back corners of the laptop and the third is located on the right hand side which I use for the charger. Two of the USB-C ports have Thunderbolt technology. This delivers high-bandwidth data, power and video transfers. You can upload so much faster to your laptop this way. The only other port is an audio in/out port that you can use with a wired headset. This laptop comes with a 9 MP webcam with a privacy screen, a large multi-touch track pad and has an illuminated keyboard. The keyboard is a decent size considering this is only a 14 inch laptop. You also get quad speakers, located at the bottom of the laptop, and the sound quality is very good. The 2.8K display has vibrant colors and the graphics are really good. I think it is great for editing my photos and working on video content. The colors are absolutely amazing. The display screen is a bit glossy, so if you are using this outdoors, you may get some glare. Watching movies is great with this computer, both visual and sound. This display also has pen support. I found this great for taking notes and it worked best for me in tablet mode. This would be great on campus or at your job for taking notes. With this laptop you get a 1 TB SSD hard drive, so you are able to save just about anything you could need or want. The battery life is pretty good, depending on what you are doing. You can get about 4 hours of life while gaming and about 12 hours of video play back. You also get Copilot+ on this machine. Copilot+ is an AI tool that helps with creativity, productivity and communication tasks. This is great for running AI workloads. It can help with emails, chats and documents. It can even summarize a meeting. I highly recommend this convertible laptop as you can get so many different uses with it. I like that you no longer need both a laptop and a tablet and only need one device to do the work of two.
