Very portable – lasts all day!

If you are looking for a very portable laptop with a nice screen that lasts all day, this may be the one for you. I was a little concerned that the 14” screen might be a little too small, but when comparing to a laptop with 15” screen, the HP OmniBook 14” takes up a good bit less room and the smaller size make it much easier to carry around. I am enjoying the benefits of the ARM processor, which might not run all the latest games, but the lower power requirement absolutely allows for a full day of use, with USB 3 port and a small charger for any refreshing that is needed before retiring to watch video in the evening. If charging is needed for extended use, just a short charge time puts plenty of power back in the battery to keep from having to keep it plugged up for very long. I had some initial reservations about going to the ARM processor but not being a heavy gamer, I have not noticed any issues with running all my typical office and communication software, as well as playing videos both online and from my home media server. There really does not appear to be a downside to the ARM processor, and the speed is at least as good if not a bit quicker when starting a new program. I think the days of hesitation to move to an ARM processor have passed us by and ARM for laptops is now mainstream. A few quick notes about the hardware. Build quality is up to HP standards, and the laptop is very compact, surprisingly light, and feels sturdy in the hand. Nothing fancy, mind you, but a good basic design with no sharp edges and a clean profile. OLED screen is very nice with good colors and contrast as you would expect. There are a couple USB C plugs so you can run second monitor and charge (if needed at end of the day) at the same time, and a USB A plug for that drawer full of flash drives. Back-lit keyboard and touch screen standard. AI integrated has pretty much everything that any other AI-empowered laptop would have, with more and more bells and whistles arriving on a regular basis. There is a built-in voice recognition feature that looks very interesting, just haven’t had the time to explore that just yet but I am planning to see how close I can get to using voice-driven operation. No telling what will come along next! Overall, this unit seems to hit the right price point to provide a very nice and fully functional, long-lasting laptop with a quick and crisp response. Unless you are determined to have a larger screen to use as a desktop replacement, this size, standard features, and nice price point may be the one for you. Greetings from Central Georgia!
