I was in the store today and was bouncing back n forth between a couple different laptops looking at things. This one seemed cool and I asked about it compared to a couple of others to which the employee replied this one would be solid. Well I get it home and it takes forever to come on so i start reading reviews and see people mentioning how a lot of things arent compatible with this laptop since it is an ARM device. A lot of x86 stuff and many devices will not work with it or if you want to use Prism, which is glitched out and slow imho, that can be a work around to the incompatibility issue. No thanks for me though. Never even set it up after it took forever to come on and reading thise reviews. Taking it back for a return in the morning.

My 2nd HP Laptop purchase and I use this one for more travel items as I sometimes leave it with another member or our Freemason Lodge. I have had hardly any problems with my other laptop which is 5 years old and have had to only replace the screen after a fall. I hope my new laptop servs me as well as the other has.

The speaker sucks that dont get loud at all. When they are on their loudest setting it sound like its under water. Most games wont play because snapdragon is so new.The audio output is deficient, lacking sufficient volume even at maximum settings; the sound quality is muffled. Compatibility issues exist with many games due to the device's use of the new Snapdragon processor. Other then that everything else is fine

Everything about this laptop is average to good except for two things - the battery and keyboard. Best battery on any laptop. 27-28 hours of YouTube viewing at 40% brightness.. Sadly, the keyboard is below average; especially the space key. The space key travel is so shallow, it ruined the flow of my typing.

HP is looking to simplify its laptop line up, moving away from different models such as Pavillon, Envy, and Spectre, and moving towards just OmniBook. Instead of the different model names, OmniBooks will be labeled with a number at the end (such as 3,5,X) with 3 signaling the more base models and X signaling the top of the line OmniBook. Gone also are the Intel or AMD processors, with the OmniBook X stuffing a Snapdragon Elite processor under the hood. These processors are meant to extend battery life, have high performance, and hopefully make the laptops more portable in nature. The OmniBook X came with a 1 TB SS hard drive and 16 GB of Ram. Not bad at all. A 14” 2.2K IPS LED touchscreen (which looks popping, by the way) is encased in an aluminum casing and chassis. The laptop feels substantial in the hands, but at the same time is extremely comfortable on the lap. It doesn’t get super hot during use, and is light enough at 3 pounds that one can use it on their lap for long periods of time. In use, the OmniBook X is the perfect productivity machine. Use it to zip around the internet, use Google docs and Microsoft Office, check and send out emails, and put together presentations. The keyboard and touchpad are comfortable to use, even with the smaller 14” screen footprint. I liked the keyboard better than my daughter’s non-Window’s laptop, and felt like the OmniBook X could give that other laptop a real run for its money. While it may not be as think or light as the Air, it matches up well on the other key aspects of a laptop (memory, processing, keyboard, touchscreen) that really make it an attractive alternative. The OmniBook X also comes with Copilot +, which is basically an AI app for Windows. I haven’t spent a lot of time with these features, but have found some of them to be very helpful. While attending a webinar for work, I was in a Teams meeting and used a Copilot + feature called Live Captions to translate the real-time speaking into real-time captions. One of the speakers was presenting in Spanish, and Live Captions took her words, translated them, and then presented them to me in English. It worked really, really well! Another great feature of Copilot + is Cocreator. I’ve used this a couple of times, typing what I am looking to draw into the side box and then making a rough sketch in Paint. While I’m drawing with my mouse, Cocreator is creating what it thinks I am drawing on the side of the screen, and dang it looks great! I’ve done several concept drawings of mechanical equipment for people across my organization, letting them know what we are looking for, and Cocreator makes an image that looks way better than my chicken scratch. I have been pleased with the OmniBook X. It is well specced, has a nice, vibrant display, is a touch screen, has AI built in, and runs cool and quiet. Highly recommended as a productivity machine.
