Catastrophic Hardware Failure &Non existent Suppot

I purchased this HP laptop online from Best Buy on August 26th. It worked for about 4 months only until the hard drive suddenly failed completely (the file system turned RAW, and the device entered a boot loop). I attempted every troubleshooting step, including a factory reset, but the hardware is defected. the way Best Buy handled this situation was unacceptable. When I took the laptop to the store for help, the staff were incredibly uncooperative and rude. Instead of assisting me with a defective product sold by them, they washed their hands of the issue, claiming it was "not under Best Buy warranty" and completely shifted the blame to HP. What makes this experience a nightmare is the support. My laptop is still not fixed, and the repair process is taking far too long. Even worse, I have tried to contact HP support multiple times regarding this warranty issue, but my attempts have failed, and I have received zero assistance. Now I am stuck in the middle. HP support is unreachable despite multiple attempts, and Best Buy refuses to take responsibility for what they sold. I use this machine for critical work and am now left with nothing. I strongly advise against buying this model due to its poor reliability and HP's lack of customer care and I am deeply disappointed with Best Buy's poor customer service.

Honest Review — HP OmniBook X Flip 2-in-1 Copilot+ PC (14″, Ryzen AI 7, 24GB, 1TB) I’ve been using this laptop for a while now and here’s my take on it: Performance & Daily Use This machine feels fast and fluid for everyday tasks like browsing, streaming, multitasking, and office work — thanks to the AMD Ryzen AI 7 processor, plenty of RAM, and a large 1 TB SSD. It handles multiple Chrome tabs, documents, and media apps without breaking a sweat, and its Copilot+ AI features are genuinely useful for productivity tasks. According to user ratings, 93 % of owners would recommend it to a friend — that’s a strong thumbs-up overall. Design & Build The convertible 2-in-1 design is really enjoyable — it flips into tablet mode smoothly and feels solid for its price range. The Meteor Silver finish looks sleek and professional, and the lightweight build makes it great for on-the-go work. Display The 14″ 2K touchscreen is responsive and bright enough for most work and entertainment. It’s good for note-taking and casual drawing when paired with a stylus, and it supports adaptive sync which helps with smoother visuals. However, some users mention the screen’s color and contrast are only average — not ideal for serious photo or color-critical work. Battery Life Battery life is solid — many people get a full day of mixed use, and it charges fast when you need a quick top-up. Cons & Quirks • Keyboard: A few users say the keyboard feels shallow and flat, which can take some getting used to. • Bloatware: It comes with a bunch of pre-installed apps you might want to remove. • Heat & support: Some owners on forums have reported occasional heat or quirks like sleep-wake hiccups or needing BIOS updates. ⸻ Overall: If you want a versatile 2-in-1 laptop that’s fast, capable, and portable — especially with Microsoft Copilot+ AI built-in — this HP OmniBook X Flip offers great performance and value for most users. It’s perfect for work, school, streaming, and casual creative tasks, though hardcore color work or pro-grade design might leave you wanting more.

It seems good so far besides the battery, but it only went down really fast when I was playing Roblox so maybe that's why.

    Great all-rounder AMD AI PC

The HP OmniBook X Flip is a well-balanced all-rounder, particularly good for students or business use. While perhaps not exceptional in any particular area, it has a very nice balance of features and performance making an excellent jack-of-all-trades. Power and Performance: This is one of the few machines with 24GB of ram and the new AMD AI 350 processors. having 24GB of ram provides more breathing room for running applications, VMs, or just lots of Chrome tabs, and sets this model ahead of most of its peers which only have 16GB. The AMD AI 350 chip is more than fast enough, running with ease. Fan noise is minimal, and even under load is not excessive. Battery life is good (not great) but should easily get through a typical workday or schoolday. I am getting 6-7 hours of actual use with screen brightness fairly high. The included iGPU is plenty fast for older AAA games but this is not a gaming computer. Considering the processor speed, extra ram, and 1TB SSD, this computer has the power to last for years. As recently as 1 year ago, having an NPU and being certified as Copilot + was really just a gimmick, but there are many features starting to appear which use the NPU, making this a much better investment in future capability. I would not buy a non-AI PC in 2025, and in a few years I think non-AI PCs will be significantly left behind, making this one future-ready. Case design: it is a nice metal case with a pleasing modern look. New edge design underneath give the illusion of a much thinner base and are pleasant to grip. The case top and bottom are very professional in appearance, almost looking like a Bosch appliance. There are ample ports, (USB-C, HDMI, headphone, USB-A) including 2 USB-A ports when many comparable have 1 or even 0. There is no microSD card slot however. Case flex is present, but not excessive. Keyboard and Trackpad: Keyboard and trackpad are good, but neither are great. The Trackpad surface is has a nice friction, and the touch click force is very good. It is not a haptic trackpad though. Keyboard looks very nice with even backlighting. However, keyfeel is a step behind the best in the class and even a step back from the prior HP Envy series. Conferencing and media: Speakers are very good, clear, loud, and even a bit of bass. They are suitable for both video meetings (Zoom, Teams, etc) and watching media. No complaints there. The webcam is also clear and crisp. Built in microphones are clear as well. A big plus is the included Poly Camera software which uses the NPU in the AMD AI 350 chip to create some very useful video features for conferencing. This is a feature I've only seen on new HP AI PCs, and it is really impressive. The IR face recognition camera works very well with Windows Hello. Screen: a small step up from prior Envy but one of the less impressive. Brightness is definitely good, and up to 400 nits from the prior Envy models 300. It is bright enough for any indoor use. The screen is very glossy and does have a bit of glare. Viewing angles are good. Contrast and color saturation unfortunately are average to slightly-worse-than-average for 2025, and would not recommend this for photo work or for anyone who values rich colors. On my particular model, blacklight bleeding from the edges and corners was worse than I expected, although pressing around the edge of the screen really helped. . . which implies the screen may not have been assembled well. The screen is MPP compatible and worked perfectly with several Microsoft Surface pens and a generic MPP stylus. Lines were smooth and I would say this is fine for note-taking. Bloatware: there is a fair amount of bloatware on this PC. HP stuffs it with quite a few of its own apps (more than 10), and sometimes multiple apps need to be opened to adjust settings (like smart battery charging and updates being in two different HP apps). HP also installs its OMEN gaming software, some (fairly useless) HP AI tools, the Poly Camera (very useful), and the McAfee security suite. Fortunately most of these can be removed or ignored. While not often mentioned, this PC just works. Sleep is reliable, it wakes perfectly and quickly when key is pressed (even with external Bluetooth keyboard), and I just haven't seen any of the typical Windows issues that often come up. No weird driver issues, didn't need hundreds of updates, no strange crashes. Nice!

I’m really happy with my Omnibook X Flip. It’s been a great purchase for our family and home-based business. The laptop feels well-made, looks sleek, and the flip feature is super handy. I love being able to switch between laptop and tablet mode depending on what I’m doing. We use this computer daily for our home business—emails, documents, online tasks, and multitasking—and it handles everything smoothly. It’s fast, reliable, and doesn’t lag, which is a big plus when you’re juggling work, kids, and everything else. The screen is bright and clear, making it easy to work on for longer periods of time, and it’s lightweight enough to move around the house when needed. Battery life has been really good, which I appreciate since I’m not always sitting in one spot near an outlet. Setup was simple and stress-free, and it worked great right out of the box. Overall, I’m very happy with this purchase and feel like it was well worth the money. I’d definitely recommend the Omnibook X Flip to other parents or anyone running a home-based business who needs something reliable and versatile.

After my last HP laptop reached the end of its lifespan, I knew it was time for an upgrade. This model has a sleek design—able to be folded and used as a tablet on-to-go—is flat enough to easily fit in any bookbag or large purse, has a battery that lasts for full days with continuous use, and, with 1TB of storage, can handle the weight of all of my largest files.

The HP OmniBook X Flip is hands down one of the best laptops I’ve ever used. From the moment I unboxed it, the design and build quality stood out — sleek, premium, and lightweight, with that beautiful Meteor Silver finish that screams sophistication. Performance-wise, this thing is a powerhouse. The new AMD Ryzen AI 7 processor handles everything effortlessly — whether I’m multitasking between heavy apps, editing photos, or streaming 4K content. The 24GB of memory and 1TB SSD make it lightning fast — boot times are instant, and apps open in a blink. The 2K touch display is absolutely stunning — crisp, vibrant, and responsive. It’s perfect for creative work, note-taking, or just flipping it into tablet mode for casual browsing. The 2-in-1 versatility is a total game changer; switching from laptop to tablet mode is smooth and intuitive. Battery life has been surprisingly strong — it easily lasts through a full workday, even with demanding tasks. Plus, the Copilot+ AI integration adds a futuristic touch — it’s like having a personal assistant built right in to help streamline productivity. Overall, HP hit the sweet spot between performance, design, and innovation. The OmniBook X Flip is ideal for professionals, students, and creators who want a premium device that can keep up with their fast-paced lifestyle.

A great value. More storage than I could fill and the number/type of ports exceeds other options. It is light and small, not clunky and awkward. The keyboard is responsive. Its speed is phenomenal, the battery lasts all day, and the charging time is rapid. Thoroughly satisfied with this purchase.

So far, so good. Purchased for college freshman daughter who is using it daily. She says it retains battery life, has great colors and utility. The only concern is that it seems to get hot and the fan is louder than expected. She's going to have her friends give their opinion and compare to their laptops but says it doesn't give any indication there's something wrong. Streams fast even on the school wifi

I recently bought the HP OmniBook X Flip, and it has exceeded my expectations. The laptop is super responsive thanks to the AMD Ryzen AI chip, and the 24GB RAM makes multitasking a breeze. So far - one month in - this has proven to be an excellent laptop, meeting every demand and expectation I had of it. Fast, excellent multitasking, sleek design, very good touchpad and keyboard, bright and clear screen. And I got this at a discount because I purchased it as "open box - excellent." It was indistinguishable from a factory fresh model.
