Great Price for the laptop. Purchased for a Christmas present so I don't really have and opinion on its performance yet....stay posted.

So far this computer is great. It has 750mgb for a lot if storage. Very user friendly and the touch screen is an amazing feature!

The laptop had problems from the beginning. The mouse pad was spongy. The laptop was very slow, and froze having to be shut down. I'm glad it did all this within a week of purchase so it could be returned.

Just purchased this laptop this past weekend. I looked high and low for the perfect laptop for under $700. In this HP I found everything I needed. My first requirement was a 17.3" screen. This screen is very nice and crisp. I also required an Intel Processor i5 or i7 for speed and reliability. This has the 4th gen i5 which is very quick. Came with 6GB installed memory and a 750GB hard drive, which is more than enough for what I do. I use lots of internet, Quickbooks, Office and my favorite game, Starcraft. I purchased this laptop for $479 on sale and was also able to use all of my Best Buy rewards points, about $50 worth towards this purchase!

After a couple months worth of researching online I came across this laptop, seeing as it has a better processor than most computers and just a hair more expensive, I figured I would give it a try. This computer actually has a rather unique design that most other hp laptops I've seen don't have, which is cool. The processor definitely outruns most other basic computers in performance, especially when it comes to loading web pages, and the fan stays quiet while doing so. The screen size is great, almost like a small t.v. The beats audio speakers fulfill their purpose being able to listen to music or movies/shows at a comfortable level. Only reason it doesn't get a full 5 star rating is the battery life is not very extensive, lasting about 4 or 5 hours at most after being unplugged, probably due to the smaller battery and larger screen. The battery saver mode does seem to help though as long as you don't need a lot of processing power. Overall I am satisfied with this hp.

Most frustrating system I have ever worked with. It assumes prior knowledge of apps and screens. I've used several systems in the past and this is by far the worst. The actual computer seems to be OK I haven't encountered a problem yet.

I really do love this HP. This is my second HP laptop. My first one I had for 5.5 years and it still works great! It's not the fastest and the second battery was done for it so I decided to get a new HP since they have done me well. HP gives great value, sure there are more powerful computers out there but who can really get a 17.3 windows 8.1 i5 with 6gb ram for under $500? This thing is huge and really for the size it's not that heavy. The battery is surprisingly long lasting for the massive screen, approx 3.5 hours. The finish of the computer on the inside looks like a flat cheap plastic but it's actually a really cool design, something HP usually doesn't leave behind. This also comes with an internal disk drive which is hard to come by these days, which is another thing that sold on me. No blue tooth, but that's kind of a thing of the past. New things I don't like about it. The mouse pad is kind of bad, not that responsive, it's so big too, you will find yourself running across it when trying to get to the keyboard. Also don't let the beats audio fool you. It's junk. Voices are very clear but music itself sounds like 200% treble and zero bass. Sure you can adjust the settings but it's nearly no help and I've found that it just distorts the sound very bad. Really those are the things I don't care for but kind of expected that, overall it's a great value and you can't go wrong with the quality of HP.

Bought this computer for my son this past Christmas. He wanted to be able to play games on it. This computer was a deal with i5 processor and 6gb ram. He has enjoyed it since he found it under the tree. Awesome computer

Actually, I would give this more like 4.5 stars if I could. The only negative is the massive size of this, making portability a little difficult. But, it runs great, does all of the web surfing I need, loads videos fast, and is just an excellent machine. Windows 8 does take some getting used too, but if you have patience and find some Internet help, you'll be fine. Seriously, this is a great machine and one that I plan to have for many years.
