So far we are very happy with this laptop choice. It's the 2nd one we bought after deciding that a desktop is not what we wanted any more. We especially like the number keypad on the right. The one thing we don't like is the touchpad for moving the curser and right or left button. It doesn't work very well. We plugged a mouse in right away and use that.

Picked this up during the holiday season after my old laptop died on me. So far the HP laptop has worked really well. The 17in screen is great. I was worried because this was a larger laptop that it would be very heavy but that is not the case.

Can't be beat for the price. Display is crisp and clear, love the 17.3" screen. Speed and performance are very good. The only drawbacks are 1) I don't like Windows 8. However, there is a little program you can download and install called Classic Shell that will give you that Windows 7 feel. Works very well. 2) Memory is not upgradeable. I would prefer 8 GB, but 6 is ok. I suppose if you were ambitious and wanted to take the laptop apart you could upgrade the memory, but stick with what I've got for now. But if you're looking for a laptop with a 17" screen, I don't think you can do better than this one.

I went with best buy with a budget looking for a laptop. And I found this laptop in the store. The store specialist worked with me with going over all of the specs and gave me wonderful feedback about it. This laptop takes care of my gaming needs and it is wonderful for doing everything else that I need as I am a college student and I also need my laptop for work. I would recommend this laptop for anyone who is looking for a laptop that takes care of everyday needs as well as having powerful performance for gaming.

For a fixed budget this is fairly decent, it is able to play games like Plants V Zombies Garden Warfare with no lag, I tried Call of duty Advanced Warfare and had no frame issues on the lowest settings, a little bit of lag on medium. Wow gave me excellent frames ( Aprox. 40 fps on medium ). Hope this gives you an idea if you are interested in a gaming laptop

Bought this laptop for my daughter who is in college now and she loves it. The large display gives off very clear images and keyboard are what sold us.

This laptop is great. I bought one for me and my dad to teach him how to use a computer.

Purchased this laptop with intentions of upgrading the RAM on my own which according to HP this cannot be done without voiding the warranty. With past laptops it was easy as buying your additional RAM (cheaper price than HP), removing at least 2 screws, and replacing the RAM yourself. This time around HP will have to send a technician to your home. If I knew this was going to be an issue before hand I would not have purchased it. If you are using this Laptop for web browsing it will be perfect, other uses may be an issue if the program needs more RAM

This is a good first laptop for a 10 year old. It is a bit too heavy so I don't carry it around.

Does everything I need it to do and then some. Great for all levels of nerds

Returned, hard to use. Hate windows 8.1, you should be able to pick what operating system you want!!!!!! Going to look for an Apple.
