We received the first computer in the mail and it didn't work. Returned it to the store, and another had to be ordered. Received the SECOND computer, and it didn't work EITHER!!! So I have nothing good to say about this computer!

Very slow computer. Had to contact geek squad twice. Does not work, waste of money and time. I bought computer for school thought it had good specs, but runs at turtle speed. Not worth hassle. Need a new model.

The computer hasn't worked yet, apparently it has a bad hard drive, but the GEEK squad is great and are going to replace it under manufacturers warranty Sooooo we will see if it works when I get it back

my mistake was I did not know HP was riding on rep. what a dud ! it give me a fit.. then Best BUY came to my Rescue ! THANK YOU !

Overheating is the main problem like all other hp pcs. The pc mouse had the sensitivity problem. I had to return the pc.

this laptop sucked. it ran slow and constantly ran updated. i took it back to the store

I've had it for a week now and have given it a good break in...Keyboard action is fine and i only found a little delay in the letters appearing on the screen initially (someone mentioned about that) then it was fine after a day or two or use... Built in Speaker with B & 0 enhancements sound better then the usual built ins though i use an external speaker system myself.. Screen display is really nice...Bright and Sharp graphics! And speed with the I5 Core Processor and 8gb Ram is really good and i can't figure why some said it was slow...not in my experience...Has a nice zip to it.... It is very attractive looking and feels very solid in build quality... A very good buy for this price range and highly recommended...Feels like a much more expensive computer...And thanks to the large 17.3" screen, makes a great desktop replacement...

I purchased this computer two weeks ago. First for starters I purchased it for $480. The next week they had a flash sale and it was $400. Best buy refunded me $80 which was great. There were some complaints about it being slow and I haven't experienced that. Mine is pretty fast. The only thing I don't like about it is the mouse pad. I just bought a $20 portable mouse and problem solved. Because of this problem I had to give it 4 stars instead of 5 stars,

I bought this a couple of days ago and I think it runs great. I'm new to Windows 10 so trying to get used to that. As far as speed it's perfect. I only use it for surfing so it moves fast. As far as the review below being slow I didn't experience that. It all depends on your wireless provider. I recommend. My IT guy here at work recommended HP.

The mouse pad does not work well. No problem, I just use an external USB mouse instead. The laptop looks nice. The performance is much more than I expected in terms of speed. Very good price.

I had to buy a new laptop because I spilled coffee all over the old one. I decided to buy another 17' HP. I loved my other one. I have to agree with some of the reviews that this laptop is slow with only a 5400 rpm hard drive in it. That is to be expected. I planned all along to replace the HD with an SSD like I did with my other HP laptop. Nowadays they are pretty cheap and well worth the bump in performance. The thing that aggravated me the most was the ridiculous way they put this together. My previous HP had small "doors" underneath that you could open and switch out the HD and ram pretty easily. But to gain access on this new one, you have to basically take the whole case off (20-25 screws). With the SSD drive this thing performs blazingly fast. I would have given it 5 stars had it not been for the pain it was to swap out parts.

I had to replace my HP laptop recently and was treading getting use to a new one. I Love this laptop! I do not understand why anyone is complaining about speed with this one. I have only had it for a couple of days but it seems fast to me. The keys did stick when i was first setting it up but stopped after a few uses of the keys. I watch a lot of movies and the picture and sound are fantastic! It has Bang & Olufsen (B&O) play, which is excellent! Think sounds like Beats! Cons: no back lighting on the keyboard. Cannot locate the Bluetooth, which on HP site states this laptop has it. Kind of disappointing when you would think Bluetooth is a given. That said, I am very happy with this laptop and have even adjusted to using windows 10. Set up was a breeze! I have already recommended this laptop. One other strange thing, the price keeps changing daily on this laptop on Best Buy's site. Not sure why?!

I replaced the hard drive with a Crucial SSD. Lightning fast. It runs even faster than HP Envy with I7, 16G RAM, HDD. Boot time is only 20 seconds. Opening this laptop to install HDD is a hassle though. Again, I am so glad that I bought this laptop.

I bought this computer after my HP Pavilion died and am quite pleased with the specs of this computer. May go back and get another one for my son for college. Big screen is nice for watching videos. Reasonably priced.

I had a HP Pavilion before. That's the reason I purchased this one yesterday. I am quite disappointed by the keyboard as when you type, you have to wait for the letters to appear. Also, it gets very warm on the right side of the keypad after half an hour. I am not sure I will keep it

This Laptop is an INCREDIBLE bargain! It looks & feels like a computer twice it's price. Installation and set-up was very easy. It was a little SLOW out the box, but after installing the new updates,drivers,and optimizing, it now runs GREAT!

Bought this many moons ago and still working like new. Glad I did, at a great price too

Huge screen for a laptop- it can be good or bad, depends on your preference and purpose of using. My next laptop will have a SSD hard drive, as it runs faster.
