Customers are saying
Customers commend the Pavilion 17.3" laptop's large screen size, performance, and ease of use. Many also appreciate its price and the ample memory and storage it offers. However, some users find the touchpad overly sensitive and report issues with battery life. The laptop's lightweight design is another frequently praised feature.

Excellent features for the price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This product was easy to start up and use. The picture is excellent and the features for the price are great. Would be an excellent product for a student needing a school computer unless 17" screen is too large.

So bummed
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I researched for months about the laptop that would be best for me. This laptop had all my requirements. 8GB-check, i5-check, 1TB-check. Then it went on a "flash sale" so I jumped, since it was between this laptop and a Dell I felt like the sale was a sign that I should get the HP. I guess the saying, "if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is" is appropriate for this situation. I tried for eight days to love it. Every day I found another thing to dislike. Here's a couple of my issues: the mouse pad was ~loose~ almost jiggly. Additionally, sometimes it worked WAY too well and sometimes I really had to press really hard, so much so, I wondered how long I'd be able to use it without hand pain. On another HP I've used there is a way to turn off the mouse pad and I didn't see that option in this one's settings. It was very large. Which was ok but it was also awkward, hard to keep on your lap. I was so worried it would fall off my lap and there aren't a lot of laptop tables or pillows that will support such a large computer. One of the worst tricks was occasionally the screen would DIM while I was using it. I could see if it was power saving or getting ready to sleep but I was using it and it was like a dark cloud passed over the screen. I tried to turn up the brightness and it was already at the brightest setting. It was so slowwwwww. I hadn't even loaded microsoft office on it yet, I hadn't even loaded quickbooks on it yet, I hadn't even stored a thing on it. I used Chrome internet browser and couldn't open more than one tab at a time without it circling (hourglassing) for a long time sometimes getting to where I needed, sometimes not at all, getting a white screen. I brought it back tonight, sad that I wasted 8 days trying to adjust to this laptop's quirks. I spoke to Mark, a SUPER smart tech guy in the laptop section of the Clearwater, FL - if you go there, ask for him, he's my new guy. He said this type of computer is better suited for folks looking for a beginner laptop or someone who is more concerned with the price point vs. functionality. I told Mark I wasn't interested in another HP and he said not to give up on the brand because although Dell's are great too, HP, in his opinion were the better brand. He showed me an HP Envy and honestly, that was a beautiful laptop. It was double the price. So I will research the Envy and see what I find, if it's worth the $800 price tag.

OK For The Price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Laptop has a great processor and a lot of ram. But it only has a 5400 RPM hard drive and B/G/N wireless. So it is slow when using. It is a ok laptop if you can use a slow hard drive and slow networking

I regret this purchase
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This Is going back. It's the second one I've had of this model thinking the first one was not working right. Turns out it's just a bad computer where the mouse and pointer are terrible. I can't even type anything without the cursor jumping, or not being able to "enter" after I've hit the button 15 times. Like I said, I'm returning this awful and I am looking for a Dell. DO NOT BUY THIS COMPUTER!!!!
