Just as slow as my old Celeron Compaq. Locks up on every ad. Goes completely loco when I try to use a mouse. Screen swirls and icons fly around like a nightmare. Wasted $800. Hate it.

I really needed a new laptop and one with a cd drive. After researching online and in store, I opted for the hp. This laptop has been the perfect purchase for me. It's a great laptop for the money.

If it's speed your looking for it's got it .Does not have a touch screen or a 2in1.For under $500 I compromised those 2 features. windows 8.1 works just fine. it navigates smoothly and fast between sites. Using a wireless mouse lets me navigate quick with little effort. Because of the large screen size HD is good but not great. The sound is fair and I would recommend using USB external speakers. Overall good QUALITY. P.S. MSN will let you download windows 10 for free after JLY 29th.

Problems right out of the box! Super slow downloading Windows10. Took forever to open a web page and navigate. After 3 days I returned the laptop to Beat Buy for a full refund, which was nice. It was determined that there was a problem with the internal hard drive. They offered a replacement but opted not to. I'll wait a few months and maybe look into another HP. I've had others that worked out well.

Have already had to take to the Geek Squad-getting the run around about why suddenly after running Windows10 for a month it stopped working-am told 1month old computer may not be able to run 10 even though was assured by salesman that it would! If unable torun 10 why was I able to run it for a month! Am getting little satisfaction from the store!!!!!!

I downloaded the Windows 10 upgrade offered, and the internet then worked slower than a bad dial-up connection. Needless to say, I took it back and exchanged it. I am now enjoying my HP Envy from Best Buy. All works fine with the Envy (with came with Windows 10 pre-loaded on it). Best Buy did not give me any hassles about exchanging the Pavilion.

I needed a larger screen, power and quality, and this laptop is all that for the money and expandable ram capability, too. The speaker is fantastic compared to the HP 15-r264dx and other HPs + Toshiba's that I had before. It upgrade to Windows 10 with no problem, has the dvd/cd/rw, 3.0 usb ports, awesome display, spacious hard drive, about 6 hour battery and decent speed. It does not have the same touch screen, but I found I didn't need that with already having a tablet. After being on the computer daily for almost a decade, the larger screen is more important. All in all, this is an incredible pc laptop and value for the money. Would have been better to have at least 8 gb ram but the reality is that i7 is faster than my old i3 and 15% more performance than i5 5200u... it's not a gaming system but darn good for more than average home / small business use! FYI - They do not have these out on display so you have to tell the sales rep to pull it out for you (my sales rep didn't even know they had 20+ of these and the Geek Squad said they were new to Best Buy and knew nothing about it).

I purchased this during a sale to upgrade from my 7yr old HP laptop that was becoming too slow. Ive had it for about 2 weeks now. I use it for personal and small business needs. Windows 10 install went pretty well...still learning but i like it thus far. The speed and sound is great.

This laptop has one of the best speakers I have ever had. It also has a beautiful screen. Very easy to setup. No problems. It is not touch but that is not a perk that I needed. This laptop will be used for personal use only.

I needed a laptop that was fast and had a DVD burner, this laptop met my needs. I can even play Doom 3 on it with no problems. This laptop is a great buy. The only downside that I can think of is that the memory is not easy to get to if you want to add some more to it. The screen is easy and smooth to open, boot up time is fast and the cooling fan is pretty quiet. I recently updated to Windows 10 and this laptop is running faster and cooler. Forgot too mention that the keys are NOT backlit but I do not care about that.

Plenty fast enough for my needs, namely video editing. Installed Windows 10 with no hickups. Took about an hour. Like the interface much better than Windows 8.

When HP tells you you spent money on a device with several issues and recalls...you know it is a bad thing. Now first the WIFI card is messed up, it does not connect to anything wirelessly until you remove and reinstall drivers. Next your DVD drive will stop working. So you call and they walk you through reformatting... It works then dies. Then your power supply is recalled but your battery does not have your serial code nor is it on the laptop that is beyond dead. This laptop is the things a college student has nightmares about. I would only recommend this regrettable purchase to my worst enemy. Maybe mine was the defective one out of a few 100. But I would look for a better laptop. Thankfully it is being replaced. I would like to make this clear I would recommend Best Buy to everyone, just not this product. I think this laptop was rushed to production and it shows this is not the quality my other HP products have.
