Previous Version - Awesome Service So Far
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For what it is worth and in case anyone wonders about the long-term serviceability of this product..., I purchased this computer's predecessor and have been using it daily for the past year and a half. It has performed flawless and the speed is fast. the included Windows 8 is still a mystery to me somewhat, but I am very pleased with the way this 2-in-one has held up. I purchased a logitec, ergonomic, keyboard so I cannot comment on the standard/included keyboard's component. I would definitely purchase this next generation with the touch-screen functionality when the time comes to replace. GOOD PRODUCT!

Good school computer
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. When i purchased this computer I was looking for one that I could use to get most of my homework done. This includes web design and art design, so I needed a better than standard computer. This one fit the bill. Now I wouldn't recommend this computer for high end gaming. I mean you can play them, you just have to dial down the settings for a smoother frame rate, etc. Overall, it does it's job for me.

Best price for bad computer
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. No one beats this price for when I purchased and I could haven gotten 3x the rewards points but my phone had died w that coupon on it....anyways,First computer froze and didn't ever boot up again properly on day one so I took it back and got another which that one had nothing going to the screen but sounded as if the unit turned on.The lady who helped me purchase it was very nice and knew her stuff I was impressed but got sick of the product reliability so I returned it for a PC I ordered at office max.Same thing but not touch screen for half the price.

what a great space saver!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. What a wonderful computer. The keyboard and mouse are wireless and work well from a far distance. The sreen has a beatiful HD picture with no glare. It has tons of usb ports. My only complaint would be that it has NO hdmi ports. It's a great value if you don't need hdmi.

OK PC, but delicate screen
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Long story short this is a good machine if you want a clean work space without wire clutter. Only wire is the power supply cord. Keyboard and mouse are wireless but also sort of unnecessary as the Windows O/S is touchscreen. The reason I returned it was because the the screen has no bezel. The glass goes straight out to the edge on all sides. Knicked it lightly with a plastic phone handset at my desk and it chipped the screen. Within a week the chip began to split. Since this is an all-in-one touch screen replacing the monitor was not an option (also defeats the point of all-in-one). The PC began to experience boot problems after this. Thankfully the protection plan I purchased with this unit covered the damage, Best-buy was super cool about it., 5 weeks after it was sent to HP it was returned with another screen chip and would not boot. Best buy gave me a full refund of the purchase price.

Simplified
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Needed to consolidate some space and cut some cords...this was the perfect solution. Very nice setup and minimal configuration after the fact. Re-installed some older camcorder software and having NO issues with video editing. The mouse wasn't the best, seemed choppy at times. Used previous wireless mouse and seems to work better. Will keep the other mouse as a backup.

Nice design Windows 8 is terrible
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this PC two days ago, and am still setting it up. First I spent 3 hours trying to get it to recognize my WD My Book terabyte external drive which refused to show up. Next I spent an hour trying to get files from my MacBook Pro transferred to the PC. Microsoft Homegroup is so bad! Finally copied some over only to find Microsoft couldn't understand the file system. Same with burning a CD. finally I resorted to transferring the files by using the PC to control the process but used wireless. 7 hours later I was finished. Then I did a restart with updates selected. It lurched into an endless restart loop. I Googled the issue and found it was a widespread problem with Windows 8. Lucky me. Eventually I had to start in Safe Mode and do a restore, which kept my files but deleted all the games and Apps I had installed over the last 12 hours! My advice...wait until Windows 10 comes out later this year, and read the reviews before buying another Windows machine

Easy to set up
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I wanted one of these when they first came out but the cost was to much. But now the cost for what you are getting is great. Set up was as easy as 123 and you get a HD screen.

Slow processor
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this to replace a 3-year-old Gateway with 4 gigs of memory and a Pentium processor looking to upgrade. I don't know if I've done something wrong or if the computer is just slow, but my Gateway is faster than this one. Quicken is about the most complex program I run and it takes forever to update and complete transactions. My mouse drags, even after turning off as many Start programs as I can. Reviews were complimentary and people talked about how fast this computer is. No so much for me. Graphics are good, but that's about it. Disappointed to say the least.

What a Piece of Garbage
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this to replace a 4-year-old Gateway all in one touchscreen. My friends recommended HP. I wish they hadn't. After only a few months I've already spent more time searching the manual for troubleshooting tips than I did with my old beat up Gateway. First, the computer gives me an alert that says "hit a problem, shutting down" and just arbitrarily shuts down. That's always fun when you're doing research online. Now the touchscreen has stopped working. I have spent the past FOUR hours going through troubleshooting tips and manuals trying to fix this. But every example, every step given does NOT match what actually comes up on my screen. I should NOT have to spend hours trying to fix a brand-new computer. I should NOT have to try and figure out what is wrong with a brand-new computer. If this computer was a few years old I wouldn't mind. But again...it is BRAND NEW. Again, a piece of garbage. I'm ready to reset up my Gateway and send this back to HP.

Extremely Schizophrenic Machine
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had my HP for about 5 months and it is an extremely schizophrenic and frustrating machine. I bought it to replace my 2008 mac as our main computer, and honestly the old mac performs better than the new HP. I've spent probably 30 hours trying to figure out a PERMANENT solution to the green screen issue on streaming videos with no success. I know of temporary measures which allows them to work for a few hours, but then it just goes green again forcing me to change the settings and restart. I believe this is an issue with the AMD processor... not necessarily the HP machine itself. But then again, HP are the ones who made the machine with the poor processor in it. Scrolling in any application is choppy and jumpy; web browser, MS office applications, you name it. I even bought a new mouse to see if that would alleviate the problem, but no, I believe the issue lies with the machine itself. General performance on the web is also hit or miss. Sometimes it works just fine, other times it will take minutes to load a single page. It gets pretty frustrating for my kids when they're trying to play online games and things freeze and take forever to load. I bought the new computer to eliminate this issue, not exacerbate it. I shouldn't have all these problems with a machine that is just a few months old. My old mac has lasted 7+ years to this point and, while it has some issues in terms of performance, it still functions better than my new HP. Lesson learned: don't cheap out when buying a new computer. Buy top of the line every time unless you want to experience premature baldness.

Not please with purchase
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This PC has Blue screened on me at least once a day for the past two weeks. After countless contacts with HP Support the problem seems to be with the Radeon graphics driver and or card. I should not have been cheap, I should have gone with an Intel based machine. And let me add I am a huge fan of HP. Just not so much AMD.

straight out of box- doesn't work
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Hp pavilion23 p114- should have realized when best buy didn't have one on display ( empty space, cord only ) warning, warning, danger Will Robinson - $300 warranty - geek squad tech support- take it back, return it for exchange/ refund! Returning unit tomorrow - forced rating of one star; can not recommend to anyone, buyer beware, switching brands, HP no help either....good luck navigating the nonsense. SORRY I BOUGHT A H. P. COMPUTER
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.BOUGHT A HP PAVILION 20, JUST ABOUT A YEAR AGO. IT STARTED HAVING PROBLEMS ALMOST AS SOON AS I BOUGHT IT, GEEK SQUAD DID WHAT THEY COULD TO REMEDY THE PROBLEMS. CONTACTED H P ( AS I SADLY FOUND OUT, 27 DAYS PAST THE YEARS WARRANTY ) SO THEY WANTED TO CHARGE ME FOR EXAMINING THE COMPUTER. OVER THE LAST 20 PLUS YEARS, I HAVE BOUGHT H P COMPUTERS, AND PRINTERS. NEVER HAD A PROBLEM TILL NOW. HAVE NO COMPLAINTS WITH GEEK SQUAD, BUT HAVE A MAJOR ONE WITH H P . ALL I CAN SAY IS THAT THE PRODUCT WAS NO GOOD. DO NOT BE AS FOOLISH AS I WAS, DO NOT BUY A HP COMPUTER OR PRINTER.

Green Screen Videos
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought the HP 23-p114 in January and have had numerous problems with the green screen videos on all browsers and Facebook. HP does not have easy access to support. I have tried all recommended solutions and finally engaged with HP on a chat session that gave me some hope but the PC has now returned to showing only the green screen video. This obviously has a hardware conflict or just a defect. I would stick with Apple or ASUS for PCs. HP printers are decent unless you need customer support.

Stay Away
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Set it up on Christmas Eve, and Christmas Morning it no longer works. Kiddos are unhappy. Frozen and will not start windows. Had to run complete reset back to default settings and it still runs sluggish. Taking back for a complete refund. I'll spend my dollars on another brand. No more HP.
