Had the PC less than 6 weeks and I continue to have problems with its performance. Worked with HP help desk (1), Internet provider (3) on why the system is slow to respond on various URLs/web pages. Each say the system is find however the performance is poor compared to previous units. Not sure what to do at this point still trying to resolve.

I purchased a refurbished unit and it ran well the first day. The second dayl was down hill, and by the third day, the machine froze up after approx 15 minutes of use' This unit was supposedly "Geek Squad" rebuilt.

This machine was so frustrating, I resorted to my old computer for releif! The wifi was at best unreliable and spotty. Mostly, it didn't really work.

This is a great system that would meet the needs of most home and business users. It's not the cheapest system because it really does have some nice features. Plenty of disk space, more than enough RAM, expansions slots (really!), both wired and wireless connectivity, and a quad core processor. I have no complaints whatsoever about the hardware. I like Windows 8 but I use the free program called Classic Shell which adds the start menu back, it's like using Windows 7 again. It's free, get it now! Bloatware, OMG. There is some graphic creating, DVD burning, picture printing software that takes over 30 minutes to uninstall. I bought a workstation, I don't want and will not use anything added on after the OS is installed. It clutters up the Start Menu. Don't make me have to remove additional stuff not in the description that I did not ask for or want. All this being said, it's a great system I don't have any buyers remorse, and it works very well.

Bought this as a replacement for my old computers that ran XP. Windows 8 is for sure more difficult to use, but it may just take some getting used to. Love the 2 tb harddrive and the machine is amazingly quiet and runs fast. Other downside is all the preloaded apps, but those are easy to delete.

Got this item home and unpacked it. Connected everything and that is when the problems began. Geek Squad could not resolve problems over a remote connection. Returned the item to the store and got the brand new version of this product. Manager took care of the customer and apologized for troubles encountered. Have had no issues with new item.

The service, assistance and Geek Squad are a joke ..... The right hand does not know what the left hand is doing ..... My daughter was two weeks late with assignments for the U of M because the Geek Squad screwed up so many things ..... I also have been charged twice for virus protection ..... I need this corrected ....

I have not had the PC for a month yet, and I am truly disappointed with it. I had to wait 15 seconds just for the PC to respond to this page to write this review. The pointer disappear on the screen than all of a sudden it pop up. I don't know if this is a lemon or not. If I step away from the computer and the screen goes into standby, when I move the mouse around the screen comes back up, but in order for the PC to respond, I have to restart it. Disgusted Customer.

Easy purchase, easy set-up, everything worked right the first time and every time after. The only issues i have had (have had the computer for about 9 months now) have all been Windows 8.1 issues that i am slowly learning how to deal with. If this had come with Win7 instead, there would have been no issues at all. I would like to thank my local Best Buy for their mistake, though. Thanks to their negligence i ended up with a VASTLY superior monitor to the one that was supposed to come with the package, and thank good karma for that ever single day. The reason i am on the website today to write this review is because i am looking to upgrade my video card, the Radeon that came with this isn't quite up to the newest game I am trying to play.

    New BFF

My laptop was dying and I was tempted to get another one, but I'm not going to lie, I'm obsessed with The Sims 3, which has some pretty high system requirements. I'm not really a "gamer" and I don't want to build a gaming PC, but I know towers are better for gaming than laptops. This one has the perfect amount of space and RAM for the game. Someone more hardcore than me would maybe say otherwise, but it works perfectly. Also everything else I do (writing, Photoshop, etc) is a dream on this machine. I could spend literally all day on it without a problem. It comes with Win 8.1. Perhaps I'm more easily adaptable than the average bear, but it only took a day or two to get the hang of. I get lost every once in a while, but I actually really like it. Ask Google if you need to figure something out. My only problem is that I have a much weaker wifi signal (2-3 bars) than my old laptop (5 bars). I don't know if it's the wireless card inside it or not. But everything else about it is so great, that I'll probably just buy a powerline adapter or something. Overall, great computer.

    Great 1st Personal Desktop

I bought this as my first personal desktop computer almost a year ago and it has been a great experience. HP has been in the family and has proven itself once again. I absolutely love it, looks attractive, quiet, and fast. I give it a 95% reliability rate because technology isn't perfect and since I've had to force shut it down twice. The reason being it might have been the games I was playing along with a minor malfunction, no biggie. I might add that the WiFi signal receiver isn't the best but it holds up well when surfing the web, gaming (WoW, Diablo 3, CoD: MW2, AC: Brotherhood, but no so great with running Day Z Standalone#, email*, music/ iTunes, with glorious multitasking power. Alt + Tab your way through 2 - 12 applications before you experience minimal lag. #NOT recommended if you want to run more than 2 - 3 games at once, this isn't a gaming PC but its pretty good# Windows 8/8.1 is indeed fast, beautiful, and fluid but I've noticed Photos and Mail to get buggy from time to time but again, no biggie. I suggest getting "AddBlock" for Google Chrome because I just love to listen to Pandora add free all day everyday :D it also eliminates adds pretty much on all websites# Anyways I highly recommend this for a son, daughter, new first computer, or simply an upgrade# PS# Pair this pretty with a good quality 21#5" - 23" flat screen computer monitor / LED screen #Dell, ASUS, w#e# your preference is) and it's amazing to look at and Definitely worth the money# Here's a link to mine: http://www#bestbuy#com/site/dell-23-widescreen-flat-panel-ips-led-hd-monitor/6814943#p?id=1218807855013&skuId=6814943&st=Dell%20LED%20monitor&cp=1&lp=7
